Walter stared back at Marvin with cold eyes. Then he smirked and let out a low chuckle.

“You’ve got quite a set of balls for a young man. What’s your name?”

“Marvin.”

“Marvin, huh? Well, Marvin, let me make something clear. I’m Walter. I run the Black Skull syndicate, and we control this entire Chinatown district. You’ve just dragged yourself into a mess you can’t possibly get out of. Do you understand?”

As he spoke, Walter waved the knife back and forth, raising one eyebrow in a taunting gesture.

Marvin remained completely calm. His expression and gaze never wavered.

“Fine. What do you want, Walter? If this is about collecting debt, your useless men should have already told you the shop’s loan will be paid back on the agreed date. And today is not that day,” Marvin stated.

Walter grinned coldly and stepped forward, pressing the tip of the knife until it was just a few millimeters away from Marvin’s left cheek.

Emily’s eyes went wide. She stared at her phone screen, where the emergency number was already dialed—but her finger hovered, still unsure whether to press the call button.

“My men told me you only showed up here the other day, Marvin. Do you even know how much this shop owes me? Don’t go making big promises if you don’t know the actual amount,” Walter sneered.

At first, Marvin really hadn’t known. But while waiting for Emily earlier, he and Daniel had talked for a long time, and he now knew exactly how much was owed.

“Twenty million dollars, right? Relax. I’ll transfer the money within a few days. Or if you prefer, I can pay in cash,” Marvin said confidently.

Walter gave a mocking smile, then burst into loud laughter.

“Marvin, Marvin. Twenty million is just the principal amount. You haven’t factored in the interest and late payment penalties. What you actually owe now, Marvin, is thirty million dollars. Do you hear me? Thirty million dollars.”

Marvin glanced briefly at Daniel behind the counter. The older man shook his head slightly, signaling that the total should not be that high.

Marvin turned back to Walter. “Fine. Thirty million dollars. Once I transfer the money, neither you nor any of your men are ever to set foot in this shop again.

“I don’t care if you’re gangsters or whatever you call yourselves. If you dare come back here after the debt is settled, I’ll throw you out in ways you won’t enjoy. Do I make myself clear, Walter?”

Seeing his boss being threatened right back, Baron snarled again. He instinctively reached for his gun and moved forward—only for Walter to raise his hand once more, signaling him to stand down.

“Alright, agreed,” Walter said. “I promise neither I nor my men will ever step foot in this dump again once you pay what’s owed.

“But here’s the catch: you have to pay it no later than tomorrow night, by 11:59 PM. If you miss that deadline, our deal is off.

“And if you fail to pay? Then not only will I come back with my men, but we’ll tear this place down to the ground. You understand that, Marvin?”

Both men traded sharp threats, and the tension in the shop grew heavier by the second. The customers, who had been trying to ignore the commotion and finish their meals, began to lose their appetite. They put down their cutlery and sat quietly, watching nervously.

“M-Mr. Walter, wasn’t the original deadline still several days away? W-why move it suddenly to tomorrow night?” Daniel finally found the courage to speak up.

Walter shot him a harsh glare. “It was several days away—but because this young punk here keeps challenging me, I’ve moved it up to tomorrow. You’ve got no right to complain, old man. You should be grateful I haven’t already smashed this place up, seeing as you’ve fallen behind on payments for weeks now.”

Daniel fell silent and lowered his head. Walter turned his attention back to Marvin.

Marvin glanced at Daniel again and felt genuine sympathy for him. He frowned and thought quickly.

His current account balance was still below thirty million. But if the shop stayed busy from morning until night tomorrow, its daily earnings should be substantial.

And if the system really gave him a thousand times whatever revenue the shop made, his balance would jump up drastically. Spending thirty million dollars to clear the debt would then be nothing at all.

“Very well. I’ll settle the full amount tomorrow night,” Marvin said, extending his hand toward Walter. “But you don’t need to come here. I’ll come to you instead. Just tell me where your base is.”

Daniel stared at Marvin in disbelief, and Emily looked just as shocked. Worry was written clearly across both their faces.

“You want to come to our headquarters? All by yourself?” Walter asked, a mocking smile spreading across his face.

“I do,” Marvin replied without hesitation.

Walter raised an eyebrow. He glanced over at Baron, who nodded in response.

“Fine. Tomorrow night, I’ll be waiting for you at our base,” Walter said, shaking Marvin’s hand firmly.

“But remember this: if you don’t show up, right after midnight I’ll bring all my men here. By tomorrow morning, this shop will be gone. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.”

Walter finished speaking with an arrogant grin. Marvin remained unfazed. They let go of each other’s hands, and Walter turned to leave.

“Oh, and one more thing,” Walter said, stopping and looking back over his shoulder. “I heard you’re a decent fighter. Maybe that’s why you think you can stand up to me.

“But let me give you a little background: I used to be a national boxing champion, with a perfect one hundred percent win record. You’d better hope you don’t end up facing me one-on-one tomorrow.”

Walter smirked—that same look of disdain.

Marvin gave no reply. Walter turned and walked out, followed closely by his men. Baron paused and stared hard at Marvin for a long moment, tapping the blade of his knife against his palm before finally turning to leave as well.

Still, Marvin showed no reaction. He stood his ground as the entire Black Skull gang filed out of the shop one by one.

The moment the door closed behind them, Emily stood up and hurried over to Marvin.

“What exactly is going on here? Are you and this shop in serious trouble?” she asked, her voice filled with concern.

Marvin saw genuine worry in her eyes.

“Stay calm. Everything is under control. Tomorrow I’ll clear the debt completely, and they won’t bother us ever again,” he assured her.

Daniel stepped out from behind the counter and rushed over quickly.

“Mr. Marvin, isn’t tomorrow far too soon? We were supposed to have several more days. If we have to pay this quickly…”

Marvin saw the same anxiety in Daniel’s face. He placed a hand on the older man’s shoulder and smiled reassuringly.

“Just relax. Leave it to me,” he said. Then he looked from Daniel to Emily.

“Tomorrow is going to be a big day for Bowl of Heaven. The two of you will work together and do everything you can to keep this place busy from morning until night. Let me handle the rest,” he added, his smile growing more confident.

High in a penthouse at the city’s heart, Alex and Melanie moved together with fierce intensity upon the wide, broad bed.“Ohh… ohh… so deep…”Melanie rode above him, rising and falling, her hands kneading her own breasts. Alex growled low, his palms roaming over her hips and belly. This had not been planned. She had been waiting for him the moment he walked through the door—pulling him down, kissing him hungrily, before he could even speak. Moments later they were naked in bed, bodies joined, moving with desperate, burning need.It was fast, hard, and breathless. In less than half an hour they reached their peak together, as one. Melanie fell away to lie beside him, chest heaving.“Not like you to be so aggressive,” Alex said, glancing at her with a faint, knowing smirk. “Something troubling you?”Normally it was Alex who took charge—who was the more demanding, the more forceful, the wilder of the two.And his guess was right. Melanie was angry. Furious, in fact.“This afternoon… I we

Marvin turned his full attention to Emily and Lisa.“So you are Emily’s cousin? And you came here to escape your stepfather?” Marvin asked.“That’s right. More or less,” Lisa replied. Her gaze still carried a trace of suspicion. But after all Marvin had done for her, her manner was no longer cold.Marvin glanced at Emily. “You intend to take her to your flat? She’ll live with you there… until she finds somewhere to stay?”Emily looked at Lisa. “We haven’t discussed it yet. We barely had time to speak before that tall, big man appeared. So for now… yes. I’ll take her home with me.”Marvin nodded and looked back at Lisa. She was so young, and so timid. In a busy city like Murndale, she was exactly the kind of woman predators preyed upon.“Then let me drive you there. Should we go now?”Emily and Lisa looked at each other and nodded, almost in uniso

He turned to face his boss.“Baron, what the hell were you doing here? What did I order you to do?” Walter’s voice boomed, sharp and commanding. He fixed Baron with a glare that could have cut steel.Baron opened his mouth… then closed it again, swallowing hard. “You told me to bring these guys here… to help Marvin, Boss.”“Then what in heaven’s name do I see? Why are they pointing guns at him?!”“That is because…” Baron paused, searching for a plausible lie. But then he thought, why lie any longer? This could be the right moment to make Walter see the truth, that Marvin did not belong in the Black Skull.“Because…?” Walter’s voice cracked like a whip. He stood fully upon the basement floor now.Baron drew a breath. “So sorry, Bos

  • No Better Option

Marvin narrowed his eyes, standing and scanning every man there. These were unmistakably the members of the Black Skull. Yet by their stance and the look in their eyes, they answered entirely to Baron.“This is not surprising at all,” Marvin said calmly. “I expected this moment to come.”Baron smirked and stepped forward slowly. “We have unfinished business. Now seems like the perfect time to settle it.”Marvin replied nothing. He only offered a cold, knowing smile of his own.“Marvin… aren’t these… the same men who caused trouble at the Bowl of Heaven the other day?” Emily asked, her voice tight with alarm.Marvin glanced at her briefly. She was sitting close to Lisa—who looked bewildered, still struggling to understand what was happening.“Stay right where you are, both of you. Don’t worry. You’ll be safe,” Marvin told them, steady and unshaken. He turned his gaze back to Baron and his men. If this was to be the fight… then so be it. He would not hesitate to kill them—Baron above al

One hand rose before him, clenched as though catching something.Josh’s eyes bulged. He could not believe what he was seeing. Marvin stood untouched, unmoved. Where had every bullet gone?“Surprised?” Marvin sneered. “Confused?”He opened his palm, and a handful of bullets clattered to the floor.“What the hell…”Josh stared in utter disbelief. Marvin lowered his hand and kept walking forward.“You’d better brace yourself, because I will beat you within an inch of your life… before I finish you off,” Marvin said, his voice cold as ice.Having caught every round fired at him, he knew he already won this fight.
