Outside the Bowl of Heaven…
Walter and his men walked toward their vehicles. Baron opened the car door and gestured for Walter to get in. Before closing it, he asked,
“Boss, why don’t we just finish that bastard off right now? Why give him time until tomorrow night?”
Walter smiled with malice. “That filthy punk dared to challenge me, so I’ll give him a chance to prepare. Tomorrow, I’ll take care of him myself.”
Walter’s original plan when bringing his men to the shop had been to beat Marvin half to death. But the moment he saw Marvin standing firm and fearless right in front of him, he changed his mind.
It had been a long time since anyone had dared stand up to him like that. He swore to himself that tomorrow he would torture Marvin, make him beg for mercy over and over again, and then kill him.
Thinking about it, Walter’s face twisted into a wicked grin. Seeing this, Baron smiled too. He shut the car door and headed toward his own car.
One by one, the cars of the Black Skull gang pulled away and vanished down the street.
Meanwhile, inside the shop…
Marvin, Daniel, and Emily sat together at a table, having a serious discussion about how to make the shop as busy as possible throughout the next day.
“Emily, since you studied Business Management back in college, I’m putting this in your hands,” Marvin said.
“You can explain your strategy in detail to Daniel, and he will pass it on to the rest of the staff. I’ll also set aside one million dollars to help you carry out these plans,” he added.
Emily looked at him with a questioning gaze. She was honestly puzzled about how Marvin knew her academic background, but she chose not to bring it up.
She had already seen how Marvin faced those terrifying gangsters—calm, firm, and completely unshaken. An ordinary man would never have been able to do that. So she decided to trust him.
Marvin felt pleased seeing that Emily had no negative reaction to his requests. This was exactly what the system had meant when it said he had gained Emily’s loyalty.
Now he just had to wait for her to show what she could do. He was confident that tomorrow would turn out well.
And the next evening, when Marvin arrived at the shop just before seven o’clock, he broke into a wide smile. The whole place looked completely different.
Bright new lights had been installed outside, giving it a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Two staff members stood near the entrance, handing out flyers to everyone passing by. As Marvin opened the door and stepped inside, his eyes lit up in surprise.
“So busy!” he thought to himself.
Almost every table was occupied—a stark contrast to how quiet it had been just one or two days ago. The interior had also been refreshed; decorative accents were placed here and there, making the space look far more attractive and, somehow, instantly making people feel hungrier.
“Welcome, Mr. Marvin,” Daniel said, coming out from behind the counter to greet him.
“How has it been today? Looks like it’s going pretty well, huh?”
“More than just well, sir! The number of customers we’ve had today is already five times what we had yesterday. It’s absolutely incredible!”
Marvin nodded and smiled, glad to see such hope and excitement in Daniel’s eyes.
“Where is Emily?” he asked, glancing around the room.
“I think she’s at the back, sir.”
“Behind the shop? What is she doing back there?”
Daniel shook his head. “I saw her taking a phone call just about five minutes ago.”
Marvin frowned and decided to go check for himself.
When he reached the back area and opened the door, he found Emily talking on her mobile phone. From her body language and the tone of her voice, it was clear that she felt uncomfortable.
Marvin walked closer, trying to listen in. Emily jumped slightly in surprise when he touched her shoulder. She immediately ended the call.
“Who were you speaking to?” Marvin asked.
Emily hesitated for a moment before answering, “Damian.”
Marvin raised an eyebrow. “Damian? Your old boss from the nightclub?”
Emily nodded.
“Why did he call? Did he want something from you?”
“He… he wants me to go back and work there. He says the deal you made with him the other day wasn’t valid. I’m still listed as one of their hostesses, and the contract I signed binds me to stay on the job.”
Marvin’s expression hardened. “Do you want to go back there?”
“No,” Emily replied quickly, shaking her head. “But Damian threatened me. He said he’ll do whatever it takes to make me return.”
Marvin narrowed his eyes. “And what did you tell him?”
“I told him I can’t go back. I already have a job here. I like it here and I don’t want to work at that club anymore. But… I’m scared he’ll keep harassing me, threatening me.”
Marvin looked into her eyes. Her fear was real, and completely understandable. He knew he had to step in.
“You don’t need to worry or be afraid. If he bothers you again, I’ll deal with him personally. Just promise me you won’t hide anything from me. Okay?”
Emily nodded, looking at him with deep admiration. This was the first time anyone had stood up for her so strongly.
On top of that, Marvin was young, handsome, and had an impressive build. It made her feel as though she was being protected by her special one.
“Why are your cheeks turning red? Are you feeling unwell?” Marvin asked.
“Ah, no, not at all,” Emily quickly denied, blinking rapidly. “It’s probably just the cold air back here.”
Marvin nodded. “All right then, let’s go inside. I want you to tell me how business went today.”
“Okay.”
They walked back into the main area and sat down at a corner table.
Without wasting any time, Marvin asked Emily to give him a full report on how the day had gone.
Every point she mentioned was positive, and Marvin smiled broadly.
“So, based on your calculations, how much revenue did we make today? And what’s the total for the last three days?” Marvin asked.
“Just a moment, let me check,” Emily said, standing up and walking to the counter.
She asked Daniel to pull up the figures on the register’s computer. A short while later, she returned to Marvin’s table.
“Today’s earnings have already passed one hundred thousand dollars. Over the last three days combined, we’ve made around one hundred and thirty thousand dollars. Not bad, I’d say,” she said, sitting back down.
Marvin nodded and smiled, doing a quick calculation in his head.
If he was going to receive one thousand times the shop’s total earnings, that meant his account would be increased by one hundred and thirty million dollars tonight.
That’s more than enough!

Do I Look Like I'm Joking?
High in a penthouse at the city’s heart, Alex and Melanie moved together with fierce intensity upon the wide, broad bed.“Ohh… ohh… so deep…”Melanie rode above him, rising and falling, her hands kneading her own breasts. Alex growled low, his palms roaming over her hips and belly. This had not been planned. She had been waiting for him the moment he walked through the door—pulling him down, kissing him hungrily, before he could even speak. Moments later they were naked in bed, bodies joined, moving with desperate, burning need.It was fast, hard, and breathless. In less than half an hour they reached their peak together, as one. Melanie fell away to lie beside him, chest heaving.“Not like you to be so aggressive,” Alex said, glancing at her with a faint, knowing smirk. “Something troubling you?”Normally it was Alex who took charge—who was the more demanding, the more forceful, the wilder of the two.And his guess was right. Melanie was angry. Furious, in fact.“This afternoon… I we
Manage Your Expectations
The ordeal at the two‑storey house with the wide garage was finally over. Walter ordered his men to dispose of the bodies of Baron and Josh. Marvin turned his full attention to Emily and Lisa.“So you are Emily’s cousin? And you came here to escape your stepfather?” Marvin asked.“That’s right. More or less,” Lisa replied. Her gaze still carried a trace of suspicion. But after all Marvin had done for her, her manner was no longer cold.Marvin glanced at Emily. “You intend to take her to your flat? She’ll live with you there… until she finds somewhere to stay?”Emily looked at Lisa. “We haven’t discussed it yet. We barely had time to speak before that tall, big man appeared. So for now… yes. I’ll take her home with me.”Marvin nodded and looked back at Lisa. She was so young, and so timid. In a busy city like Murndale, she was exactly the kind of woman predators preyed upon.“Then let me drive you there. Should we go now?”Emily and Lisa looked at each other and nodded, almost in uniso
Any Last Words?
It was none other than Walter. He strode down the steps into the basement. Though he carried no pistol or weapon of any kind, his presence alone bore down on the Black Skull members like a weight.Baron was less shaken, yet his eyes blazed with clear alarm. He turned to face his boss.“Baron, what the hell were you doing here? What did I order you to do?” Walter’s voice boomed, sharp and commanding. He fixed Baron with a glare that could have cut steel.Baron opened his mouth… then closed it again, swallowing hard. “You told me to bring these guys here… to help Marvin, Boss.”“Then what in heaven’s name do I see? Why are they pointing guns at him?!”“That is because…” Baron paused, searching for a plausible lie. But then he thought, why lie any longer? This could be the right moment to make Walter see the truth, that Marvin did not belong in the Black Skull.“Because…?” Walter’s voice cracked like a whip. He stood fully upon the basement floor now.Baron drew a breath. “So sorry, Bos
No Better Option
Marvin narrowed his eyes, standing and scanning every man there. These were unmistakably the members of the Black Skull. Yet by their stance and the look in their eyes, they answered entirely to Baron.“This is not surprising at all,” Marvin said calmly. “I expected this moment to come.”Baron smirked and stepped forward slowly. “We have unfinished business. Now seems like the perfect time to settle it.”Marvin replied nothing. He only offered a cold, knowing smile of his own.“Marvin… aren’t these… the same men who caused trouble at the Bowl of Heaven the other day?” Emily asked, her voice tight with alarm.Marvin glanced at her briefly. She was sitting close to Lisa—who looked bewildered, still struggling to understand what was happening.“Stay right where you are, both of you. Don’t worry. You’ll be safe,” Marvin told them, steady and unshaken. He turned his gaze back to Baron and his men. If this was to be the fight… then so be it. He would not hesitate to kill them—Baron above al
Too Soon To Feel Relieved
Half an hour had passed since Walter dropped away from the black SUV. He leaned back and lit his third cigarette, smoke curling into the air.‘Something is not right,’ he told himself. His mind had been fixed on Marvin ever since, wondering what state he was in. Had he won the fight? Had he found the woman he came for? However strong Marvin was, Walter’s worry would not fade. Marvin had gone in blind with rage. And he knew more than anyone, anger could be a fatal flaw.‘I hope this is just a foolish thought of mine,’ Walter thought. But the feeling clung to him, stubborn as ever. With every exhale of smoke, he pictured Marvin down there, alone. He only hoped Baron had moved fast, sending his men to help him.Meanwhile, Baron had just arrived at the two‑storey house with the wide garage. He stood in the yard with some twenty members of the Black Skull—all armed with pistols. Baron had drawn his own and racked the slide. His gaze settled on the black SUV parked before the closed garag
Rest In Hell
The bullets tore toward him, fast and true—at a range where no one should ever have stood unscathed.Marvin should have crumpled then, bleeding out. Instead he stood perfectly still. One hand rose before him, clenched as though catching something.Josh’s eyes bulged. He could not believe what he was seeing. Marvin stood untouched, unmoved. Where had every bullet gone?“Surprised?” Marvin sneered. “Confused?”He opened his palm, and a handful of bullets clattered to the floor.“What the hell…”Josh stared in utter disbelief. Marvin lowered his hand and kept walking forward.“You’d better brace yourself, because I will beat you within an inch of your life… before I finish you off,” Marvin said, his voice cold as ice.Having caught every round fired at him, he knew he already won this fight. The System had done far more than cloak him; it had sharpened his speed to something beyond human comprehension.“No way this is happening! This must be some kind of trick,” Josh muttered, blinking h
