11. New Residence

Unlike his usual behavior in the past, this time Edward didn’t rush to contact Yris upon discovering that he had missed her call. Instead, he casually checked the call history, verifying if Yris had sent any messages before deciding to call her back.

Only after confirming this did he dial Yris’s number again. Shortly after making the call, it was answered and connected. The familiar voice in Edward’s ear momentarily stirred unusual emotions.

Fortunately, he remained composed, not allowing himself to be engulfed in his feelings for her.

“Why did you call me?” Edward asked, getting straight to the point.

Upon hearing this, Yris was displeased with Edward’s seemingly annoying attitude, unlike the past when he always sounded gentle and attentive. Edward’s tone this time was slightly cold and distant, although not entirely devoid of concern.

After a brief cold snort, Yris replied, “I heard from Bryan that you’ve returned to Aeridonia.”

Edward responded with a mumble, “Um.”
