Niccole looked hesitantly at George, because it was very likely that George would refuse her request. But she really needed a man to help her, and George seemed like a good man who could help her.

Niccole already knew a lot about George, because Alexa often told her about him. So she believed that George was a good and reliable man.

"If you need anything, just say so. I want to go back to see Alexa," said George.

George was about to stand up, but Niccole immediately stopped him from leaving.

"Wait a minute, I want to talk to you about something important and ask for your help," said Niccole, looking a little nervous.

George smiled at Niccole, then sat back down.

"Okay. Tell me what you really want. I will definitely help you," replied George.

"But before that, can I ask you a question? Do you have a wife or girlfriend?" asked Niccole, lowering her head.

Niccole felt really awkward in this situation, but she had to put her pride aside in order to get George's help.

George looked at Niccole with an unreadable expression, but he answered her question, saying that he was still single and didn't have a girlfriend.

"Really? If that's the case, can you help me? I want you to marry me," Niccole said nervously.

George was, of course, surprised by Niccole's request, and he also felt reluctant. It was fine if Niccole asked for any amount of money she wanted, but why did her request have to be marriage?

"I know it's very unreasonable and sudden. You might also be annoyed by my request, but that's all I need. I don't need anything else," Niccole said with a pleading look.

George sighed. He couldn't immediately agree to Niccole's request, even though she had saved Alexa's life.

"Your request is too much for me. We've only just met. I do owe you a debt of gratitude, but I don't think I can marry you," replied George.

Niccole looked sad, but she didn't want to give up. She then knelt at George's feet, begging him to help her.

"My father arranged my marriage. Those people were my father's subordinates. I don't want to marry the man my father chose for me because he is evil and cunning. He is cruel and already has three wives," explained Niccole.

"I just need the status of being married. If my father knows I'm married, he won't force me," she continued.

"Get up, don't be like this." George helped Niccole back into her seat.

Even though this place was quiet, if anyone saw them, there would be misunderstandings.

George wanted to say something to Niccole, but his cell phone rang. He immediately answered the call.

"Okay. I'll be right there," George looked happy, he immediately stood up when he heard the news.

"Is there a problem?" asked Niccole with a worried look on her face.

"Alexa is awake, we'll talk about it later. I want to see Alexa first," replied George.

George then immediately left Niccole. Niccole was also happy, and she followed George to see Alexa.

"Alexa," George immediately hugged Alexa. It still felt like a dream that he could hug his younger sister again.

"Geo. I thought we would never meet again, but it turns out God is still good and has brought us back together," Alexa whispered.

George released his embrace, then smiled as he kissed Alexa's forehead. "I still can't believe we finally met again. I almost went crazy when I heard about your death."

"Do you know how Aunt Emeli is? I still think about Aunt Emeli, she sacrificed so much for me," Alexa asked, holding back her tears.

George gently stroked Alexa's head, telling her that Aunt Emeli was safe but still in critical condition.

"Can I see Aunt Emeli?" Alexa asked pleadingly.

"I'll definitely take you to see Aunt Emeli, but right now you need to focus on getting better first," replied George, and Alexa nodded in agreement.

George held Alexa's hand, his face filled with guilt.

"I'm sorry, Alexa. If only I hadn't ignored your phone call, you wouldn't be like this and we would never have been separated. It's all my fault for not being able to protect you," said George.

"Geo, stop blaming yourself. It's their fault for trying to take our lives!" Alexa snapped.

"Yes, you're right. I promise I'll address all your pain," George replied firmly.

Alexa nodded her head, looking at Niccole who was still standing silently beside Liam.

"Niccole, don't you miss me? You're still family even though I've met my family," said Alexa with teary eyes.

Niccole was very touched, she immediately hugged Alexa tightly.

George looked at the two of them. Alexa looked happy. It seemed that Niccole had indeed given Alexa sincere love all this time.

"Geo. I don't want to be separated from Niccole. Can we take her with us and make her part of our family? There are many bad people who want to hurt Niccole," said Alexa with a pleading look.

Niccole just lowered her head, ready for George to reject her.

"Alright. If she wants to come with us," George replied.

Alexa looked happy because she wouldn't have to part with Niccole after all.

Niccole looked at George with a surprised expression. "Are you really going to accept me?" she asked nervously.

"I just don't want to separate the two of you," replied George.

Niccole smiled slightly, that alone made her happy because George accepted her as family. As for marriage, she would not force George's decision.

"Geo, I'm curious. What exactly do you do for a living? I couldn't reach you. And you haven't come home for years," Alexa asked with a curious look on her face.

"I'm one of the commanding officers in the American army," George replied with an awkward smile.

Liam, who heard this, looked stunned. His leader said he was a soldier? Why didn't he tell his sister the truth, that he was actually a great warlord?

George stared intently at Liam, so that Liam would remain silent. Liam could only obey his superior's wishes.

"No wonder you were so hard to reach, but I'm proud of you. You're great for being a soldier of such a powerful warlord," said Alexa, hugging George tightly, which was only returned with a slight smile from George.

"He's a soldier, from the strongest warlord, no wonder he looks so dashing. I'm even more convinced that he can help me," Niccole thought to herself.

"I'd better keep my identity a secret for now. I don't fully know who Niccole really is, and why Niccole asked me to marry her," George muttered to himself as he looked at Niccole.

Niccole touched George’s forehead and found that he had a fever. Perhaps it was because his wound had been left untreated for too long. Niccole then hurried to get a small towel to apply a compress to George’s forehead to bring down his fever.Niccole checked George’s temperature and found that his fever was over 38°C.“Geo needs to take some medicine to bring down his fever,” Niccole muttered.Niccole first tended to the wound on George’s back, applying pain-relieving ointment. After that, she tried to wake George up so he could take his fever medicine.“Geo, take your medicine first so your pain goes away; then you can go back to sleep,” Niccole instructed. But George ignored Niccole and stayed asleep. Perhaps the dizziness made him choose to sleep instead.Niccole sighed. George still had to take the medicine so his fever wouldn’t get worse, so she boldly popped the pill directly into his mouth.“What did you put in my mouth? Why is it so bitter?” George woke up suddenly. His head

George sat in his office chair with his eyes closed. He had managed to get rid of that lowly traitor, but he was absolutely certain that the damn president would create more trouble until he was forced to fall to his knees and submit to him. But that was impossible; he would never submit to a leader who was in the wrong.“Do whatever you want, you damn bald man! I won’t submit to you,” George growled inwardly.“Commander, you’re truly amazing. You can easily spot someone who’s betraying us,” Gavi said admiringly.“It’s not that hard, Gavi.” George replied, his eyes still closed. Seeing this, Gavi sensed that his superior was exhausted. These past few days, he hadn’t had a proper chance to rest.“Commander, you should just go home. It seems like you need some rest. You haven’t rested properly for three days; I’ll handle the work issues at headquarters,” Gavi said.George opened his eyes and gave Gavi a faint smile. It seemed he really did need rest; his body was utterly exhausted, and

George smiled as he saw one of them tense up. Clearly, that was the real traitor.George glared at him; how dare anyone betray him. He wouldn’t give a traitor a chance—he hated traitors more than anything.“How dare anyone betray me! It seems I haven’t been firm enough in my leadership since there are still those trying to betray me. I hate traitors the most, no matter what the reason!” George growled, which only made them even more terrified.George noticed one of them clenching both fists; his face looked annoyed, but it seemed he still wouldn’t back down from his stance and was trying to find a way to protect himself.“Vero, what’s wrong with you? Why are your fists clenched like that? You don’t seem to like what I’m saying,” said George, making Vero look nervous.“You might be mistaken, Commander. I wouldn’t dare defy you,” Vero replied, trying to stay calm.“You certainly wouldn’t dare defy me directly, but that doesn’t mean you wouldn’t dare to be a traitor,” George retorted.“W

George asked Gavi to help him find ingredients for an antidote. It wasn’t just Gavi; several people who hadn’t been poisoned also helped George search for those ingredients. Some ingredients were hard to come by, usually found in dangerous places like forbidden forests or cliff edges. For those high-risk ingredients, George decided to search for them himself; he had to take full responsibility without putting others in danger.“There are a few key ingredients I have to find myself, because the locations are quite dangerous. While I’m gone, make sure those who’ve been poisoned receive the best care. I’ll do my best to quickly obtain the key ingredients for the antidote,” George explained.“Commander, you can’t go alone.” Gavi certainly couldn’t let his superior take on the danger by himself.“Commander, it’s better if I’m the one who goes to find the ingredients in that dangerous place; you’re needed much more here. I’m worried something might happen to you,” said Gavi.“No, Gavi, I do

The orphanage director bowed his head. It wasn’t the first time George had helped this orphanage; he was practically a major donor there, providing money, food, clothing, and other supplies almost every month. Usually, when George was very busy, Gavi or Liam would take over the task of delivering aid to the orphanage.Only this time had George assigned the task to an ordinary subordinate—without his supervision.“Let’s investigate this matter together; I will take full responsibility. Whether this is my fault or not, I will still help the victims,” George said firmly.Actually, George had already suspected this problem would inevitably arise; he had intentionally made sure the bald man focused solely on the fact that he was buying a lot of food for the orphanage, without realizing that he had been aiding a village located in that damned president’s territory.“Alright. Let’s investigate this together. I’ll gather some of the staff who weren’t poisoned so they can provide an explanatio

The village chief and several villagers immediately approached George with worried expressions.“Commander, do you have an urgent matter? You’re free to leave. It seems many villagers here have already recovered, and conditions here are much better now. Don’t let that man tarnish your reputation if you stay here,” said the village chief.George gave a faint smile, as the village chief here was very understanding and wise. He was quite impressed with the leader of this village.“Thank you. But it seems only my assistant and I will be leaving. The rest of the team has been assigned to stay here, as many villagers are still sick and the situation isn’t yet stable,” replied George.“Thank you, Commander. You’re still concerned about this village, even though you have issues of your own to handle,” said the village chief’s wife.“It’s fine. They just want to tarnish my reputation; it’s not a big deal. They don’t have strong evidence to bring me down,” said George.George still looked very
