The moment Liam stepped out of the taxi in front of Tianhu Group, he instantly regretted not faking an illness to get out of this.
The massive skyscraper loomed over him like some rich person’s middle finger to society, its glass exterior gleaming under the sun. The golden letters spelling "Tianhu Group" practically screamed "If you’re poor, don’t even breathe near us."
He let out a low whistle. “Damn. No wonder they’re so picky about deliveries. This place is basically a money-printing machine.”
Adjusting the small, metal-sealed package under his arm, he sighed and stepped forward, mentally preparing himself for what was about to be the worst delivery experience of his life.
As soon as he walked through the glass doors, he was greeted by sheer luxury—marble floors, towering chandeliers, and a reception desk so polished it could probably blind people.
But none of that mattered.
Because sitting at the front desk was her.
The legendary Demoness Receptionist.
She had an aura so cold, Liam swore the temperature dropped the moment their eyes met. Perfectly dressed, her sharp eyes flicked over him like he was an insect that had wandered into a five-star restaurant.
She clicked her tongue. “Late. Clumsy. Unprofessional.” She exhaled dramatically, giving him a look of absolute disappointment. “Are you even qualified to hold that package?”
Liam blinked. “Damn, they weren’t kidding—she really does have a mouth on her.”
He opened his mouth to say something snarky but stopped himself. Getting into an argument with a receptionist who could probably make grown men cry wasn’t on his to-do list today.
“Here’s the delivery,” he muttered instead, sliding the package onto the counter. “Sign for it so I can leave and pretend this never happened.”
She ignored his words, instead looking up to insult him properly.
And then—she froze.
Her entire expression changed.
Liam frowned. “What?”
Her eyes flicked from his face. Then up to the massive CEO portrait behind him.
A very familiar CEO portrait.
Her brain short-circuited.
For three whole seconds, the receptionist just stared.
Then her eyes widened. Her breath hitched.
Her brain screamed.
“WAIT. HE LOOKS JUST LIKE—”
And then—her entire demeanor changed so fast that Liam physically recoiled.
She smiled.
SMILED.
Like. Actually smiled at him.
“Oh! My deepest apologies, sir.” She suddenly straightened, her voice dripping with honey. “I didn’t realize.”
Liam blinked. “Huh?”
Meanwhile, under the desk, her hands were already flying across the keyboard.
URGENT: CEO in disguise as a delivery man. Play along.
SEND TO ENTIRE BUILDING?
YES.
MESSAGE DELIVERED TO 247 EMPLOYEES.
Liam, still standing there, narrowed his eyes. Why was she being so nice all of a sudden?
“So.” Liam frowned. “You’re letting me deliver it myself now?”
“But of course, sir.” The receptionist’s sweet voice was a complete 180 from before. “You’re the perfect person for the job.”
“…You literally just called me unprofessional.”
“Oh, nonsense.” She waved a hand, still smiling. “Please, sir. Take the package to the top floor.”
Liam was so confused but wasn’t about to argue with good luck. He shrugged, picked up the package, and walked toward the elevator.
As he passed by, employees all around the lobby suddenly stopped working and turned to look at him.
Their eyes were wide. Their whispers were hushed.
“He really did it—he’s pretending to be a delivery guy!
“He’s testing us! We have to be on our best behavior!”
“Oh my god, I made eye contact—does that mean I’m getting fired?!”
Liam felt the weird stares.
“…Is this company just weirdly obsessed with deliveries?”
Still, he brushed it off and stepped into the elevator.
Liam leaned against the cool metal wall of the Tianhu Group elevator, tapping the package against his leg while waiting to reach the top floor.
"Huh. Fancy elevator." He looked up. The buttons weren’t even regular buttons— they were touchscreen.
Liam huffed. “Rich people.”
The elevator dinged.
The doors slid open.
Liam barely had time to register the floor before he was met with a row of staff members standing near the entrance.
And the moment they saw him—
They. Froze.
Dead silence. No breathing. No blinking.
Liam tilted his head. “…Uh?”
They looked like they had just seen God descend from the heavens.
Liam, confused but still polite, smiled. “Hey, you guys coming in?”
He even waved.
One poor employee actually grabbed their chest.
The staff members didn’t move.
They just stood there.
Like statues.
Not a single one dared to step forward.
Liam raised an eyebrow. “No? …Okay then.” He shrugged. “Your loss.”
The doors closed.
Silence remained in the hallway for three more seconds.
Then—
BOOM!
The entire group of employees erupted into frantic whispers.
Employee 1: “Did you see that?! HE WAVED AT US.”
Employee 2: “Oh my god, I forgot how to breathe—I almost died.”
Employee 3 shaking: “That wasn’t just a wave. That was a ‘come in’ gesture. Do you know what that means? HE WAS INVITING US INTO HIS SPACE.”
Employee 4 dramatic gasp: “We missed our chance to get promoted.”
Employee 5 clutching their chest: “My heart almost exploded when those doors opened. If I had stepped in, I would’ve had a heart attack.”
One of them collapsed into a chair, sweating.
“I need to lie down.”
Meanwhile, inside the elevator, Liam blinked at the closed doors.
“…Weird.”
He checked his reflection in the mirrored walls. “Do I look scary or something?”
He sighed, shaking his head. “Whatever.”
When the elevator dinged open on the top floor, Liam immediately felt something was off.
Unlike normal office floors, this place had way too much space, way too much luxury, and way too many people staring at him.
He took one step forward.
Everyone. Stopped. Moving.
“What the hell is up with this company?!”
Liam, feeling uncomfortable, approached a young female employee who was clutching a file like it was her last lifeline.
“Hey,” Liam said. “Where do I put this?” holds up the package
The woman gasped.
She almost called him "CEO" but caught herself just in time.
Employee nervously, voice trembling: “Oh! R-right here, sir. I-I’ll take care of it!” grabs package like it’s a sacred relic
Liam narrowed his eyes. Why did she sound like she was terrified?
He brushed it off. “Cool, thanks.”
The moment he turned around and stepped back into the elevator, the entire floor erupted into silent chaos.
The second the elevator doors closed, every single employee RAN to the windows.
DOZENS of employees pressed their faces against the glass like a bunch of starstruck fans.
They watched in absolute awe as their ‘CEO’ casually strolled out of the building.
Employee 1: “He’s so humble… dressing as a delivery man just to test us.”
Employee 2: “We must have done well—he didn’t even scold us!”
Employee 3 wiping tears: “We are truly blessed to have such an inspiring leader.”
Meanwhile, down on the street, Liam was just walking home, completely unaware that he had just turned an entire corporation into his personal fan club.
He sighed, stretching his arms.
"Man, that was weird. But at least she didn’t eat me alive."
He shoved his hands into his pockets and continued walking, blissfully unaware of the absolute chaos he had just left behind.
The moment Liam finally left the scene, the employees inside were losing their minds.
One guy literally slammed his head against his desk.
“WHY DIDN’T I SPEAK TO HIM?!”
Another employee had to be fanned by their coworkers.
“That was the closest I’ll ever be to greatness. Someone hold me.”
At the receptionist’s desk, the Demoness Receptionist smirked to herself, watching Liam disappear down the street.
"Mission accomplished."

A low groan.Sunlight sliced through Liam's thin curtains and smacked him right in the face. The room seemed to have fought a hurricane and lost: clothes tossed all over the chair, socks dangling off the lamp, and bottles—so many bottles—shimmering on the floor."Huh…"He yanked the blanket up to his eyes. Too short. It left his shins cold."Oh, come on…"He gave up and tossed the blanket away. The moment he rolled—BANG.He fell off the bed, onto his hip, and cracked his knee into his riding helmet."Damn it!" He kicked a loose bottle. Chap 22 A Voice In The Dark
BAM!The sound of Oliver Kai’s palm slamming against the polished mahogany table thundered through the boardroom like a gunshot. Every pen, glass, and paper on the desk rattled, but none as violently as the guard standing before him.“How?” Oliver’s voice was low at first, a sharp demand laced with the kind of danger that made even seasoned men flinch. When the guard hesitated, Oliver’s hand swept across the desk in a furious motion. WHAM! A pile of documents went flying, scattering across the floor like leaves in a storm. Some even slid to the far wall, the sound echoing in the tense silence.“How—” he raised his voice to a roar, “—was a woman, a weak little thing who jumps at the slightest shadow, able to outrun four of my most skilled bodyguards?!” He jabbed a finger at the trembling man in front of him, his voice dripping with contempt. “You’re telling me she just vanished? In broad daylight? Out of every shop in the city, with cameras on ever
Chap 21 The Passenger Seat
The door slammed closed behind her just as the first black car screeched around the corner. Liam didn't waste any time. His foot pressed the gas, and the truck shot forward with a growl, tires screeching as they hurtled down the empty street. Alyson gripped the dashboard with one hand, the other wrapped around the window. "Ever thought of being a getaway driver?" Liam glared at her. "Ever think about not annoying people who drive blacked-out cars with murder fantasies?" She smiled weakly, though her knuckles were white. Behind them, the chase flared up again—two figures pursuing at night. But Liam knew these streets better than any spoiled rich kid or hired thug. He cut across side streets and back alleys, a blur of speed and reflex. “You know,” Alyson muttered, glancing behind, “I never thought I’d be depending on a guy in a dusty truck to outrun professional chasers.” Liam scoffed. “Do you want to drive?” “I’d rather live.” “Then shut up and let me focus.” Silence surround

Chap 18: I Refuse!
"No. I can't." Liam's voice was firm, unyielding. His arms remained stiff at his sides, his expression blank despite the tension in his jaw. He did not wish to play whatever game these people had constructed. He had played his part already—helping a stranger to the hospital. That was where his involvement stopped. Madam Maeve, with an unshaken air of authority, stood before him in no way surprised. Nor did she seem to be disappointed. Instead, she simply regarded him with the same quiet, knowing look, as if she had been waiting for him to have reacted as he had. "Then, at least, spend the night here," she said in her soft but compelling tone. Liam's eyes tightened. "No need. Just get someone to drive me home. You know where I live, don't you?" There was a flicker of amusement that went across Madam Maeve's eyes, but she did not answer. She nodded once and turned to one of the maids standing at the doorway. "Tell the driver to prepare the car.". The maid curtsied and darted
