Sumini, a woman who appeared to be in her fifties, hurried over to Ki Ageng Wanayasa.

“Sumini, can I ask you for a favor?”

“What would you like me to do, Sir?” Sumini asked in return.

Ki Ageng then explained to his servant what she needed to do.

“That’s all, Sir?” Sumini asked again after listening to the explanation.

“Yes, that’s it. Now hurry!” Ki Ageng Wanayasa replied sharply.

He quickly headed to his room and took down a sword hanging on the wall. The sword was noticeably larger than a typical one.

One thought consumed him: if he couldn’t save his honor in front of the villagers, then he would kill them—every last one.

His delay in coming out only enraged the former members of the Maling Cluring bandit gang. Almost all of them were now shouting, demanding their former leader step out of his house.

Naturally, this commotion drew even more attention from the villagers. Many became curious about what was happening—especially as the outsiders started mentioning loot and robberies.

His body was thin and dirty, and the clothes he wore were in such poor condition they were hardly fit for use.The handsome young man approached the boy and crouched down in front of him. “What’s your name?” Arya asked warmly.“My name is Jayaseta,” the boy replied without fear, even though the person before him was a prince.Arya was slightly surprised, then smiled broadly. “Our names share something in common — I am Jayalaksana, and you are Jayaseta.”Duke Wirayudha swallowed hard upon hearing the young man mention his name. He already knew that the seal he had just seen was a special seal belonging to the son of King Dharmalaksana, but he did not know the faces of each of the four princes of the Sastrajingga Kingdom.“

"Stop…!"A loud voice rang out from behind. All eyes turned toward the figure of a man in luxurious attire who had just arrived.Arya also turned his body to see who had just stopped him from delivering punishment to Purwanto and the owner of the eatery. The soldiers quickly formed ranks upon realizing that the person who had just arrived was Duke Wirayudha. Their heads bowed low toward the ground.“Our respects, Duke,” the soldiers called out in unison. The people of the dukedom also paid their respects to Duke Wirayudha, some even kneeling on the ground before the most powerful man in Kotasura.Seeing this, Arya’s face hardened. Without hesitation, he strode toward the villagers.“Stand up, all of you! What do you think you’re doing?”Not a single villager responded. They remained kneeling, eyes cast downward.Arya turned his head and saw Kartinah doing the same. “Kartinah, stand up! Do not demean yourself before another human being!” he shouted, walking toward her.Everyone who hea

After glancing around and seeing no one, the handsome young man stepped further inside. Ratnasari and Kartinah followed behind. One by one, he opened the bedroom doors, but still found no one. With slight curiosity, Arya continued his search. Then, at one point, he faintly heard the sound of a woman sobbing — very soft and almost imperceptible.Arya stopped in his tracks. He signaled Ratnasari and Kartinah to halt as well. He sharpened his hearing, trying to locate the source of the sobbing.By chance, his eyes caught sight of a small door beneath a table.Slowly, Arya approached the little door, suspecting it might lead to a basement. He turned to Ratnasari and Kartinah, pointing downward after motioning for them to leave the house. One thing he feared most was the safety of Kartinah’s daughter — she might be held hostage by Purwanto. After Ratnasari and Kartinah had left, he pushed the table aside, revealing the hidden door. Arya opened it cautiously, wary of a sudden attack from be

  • An Easy Battle

The two figures, who looked like beggars, were shocked when the young man before them was completely unaffected by the gusts of wind they had unleashed. Both of them increased their inner strength to amplify the wind generated by the spin of their yellow metal rods.Yet Arya still stood calmly in place, unmoved. Only his long hair fluttered wildly in the wind.On the other side, Ratnasari and Kartinah, who had just entered, were also hit by the gusts of wind from the two warriors known as the Wandering Beggar Duo. But the beautiful young woman reacted quickly, pulling Kartinah behind her and blocking the incoming wind with her own inner strength.“Can’t you produce stronger wind than that?” Arya sneered as he stepped slowly toward the two men, who were Purwanto’s personal guards.“There’s no point in bluffing him like this, Kirno…! He’s not affected in the slightest,” said the shorter of the two men dressed like beggars.“You’re right, Widji. We should just attack him directly!” repli

  • The Two Rogue Beggars

“Stop right there!” one of the guards barked harshly.“We only wish to see Purwanto to take back my daughter,” Kartinah replied.“Hahaha! No matter how long you wait, you’ll never get your daughter back. Even if you have the money to ransom her now, Master Purwanto will never release her.”Arya’s eyes narrowed as he glared at the guard who had just spoken. In the blink of an eye, he was already standing before the man, gripping his neck and lifting him off the ground.“Now tell me why Purwanto refuses to release Aunt Kartinah’s daughter.”“You… Aaakhh!” The guard could not hide his shock. At that moment, he had no power to protect his own life, already hanging by a thread. One squeeze from the young man’s fingers and his neck bones would shatter. The other guards felt fear creep into their minds. Something they had never imagined was now clear before their eyes—this young man’s speed was beyond comparison to their own. No wonder he had no fear of the Duke Wirayudha, they thought.“Spe

  • Breaking the Agreement

Arya smiled while staring at Darman, who was also glaring back at him in anger.“Since I paid for the meal earlier, Aunt Kartinah is no longer working in your establishment. So what can you possibly do now?” he taunted.Darman’s eyes widened. His breath came fast, his chest burning with the rage that had taken over his mind. Not only had this young man insulted him, but he had also cost him an employee.“I’ll report you to Duke Wirayudha. You’ll surely be given a harsh punishment!”“Oh… so the ruler of this duchy is named Duke Wirayudha,” Arya nodded slowly. “You can report me to him all you want. But let me assure you—it won’t be me who gets punished. It will be your business license that gets revoked.”Darman fell silent, confused and bewildered by Arya’s words. Judging by his plain appearance, Darman thought it was nothing more than an empty threat meant to scare him. But considering the young man’s handsome face, and how easily he had produced a gold coin and given it to Kartinah
