The sound of police sirens grew louder outside Redd Tower. Red and blue lights flashed through the shattered glass walls of the lobby.
Within seconds, armed officers rushed inside. “POLICE! NOBODY MOVE!”
The scene they stepped into looked like a war zone. Broken marble. Shattered glass. Bullet holes across the walls.
Men lying unconscious on the floor. And in the center of it all, Donald Ford. Pinned down by Janet Reddington’s bodyguards.
One of the officers stepped forward. “What happened here?”
Janet calmly brushed dust from her suit and stood up. “There was an armed attack on my company.”
The officer looked around in disbelief. “That’s obvious.”
His gaze fell on Donald. “And who is this?”
Donald smiled casually. “Donald Ford.”
Several officers immediately stiffened. Even they knew that name. The legendary gambler. A man rumored to control half the underground betting world.
The officer frowned. “You’re under arrest.”
Donald laughed. “Am I?”
Tyson stood a few steps away, watching everything quietly. His body still buzzed with adrenaline. Inside his mind, the system interface flickered again. “Threat Level Increased”
Tyson’s eyes narrowed slightly. Something still felt wrong. The officer turned to Janet. “We’ll need statements from everyone.”
Janet nodded. “Of course.”
Donald suddenly spoke again. “You’re wasting your time.”
The officer looked annoyed. “And why is that?”
Donald leaned back slightly against the floor. “Because I’ll be out of here before sunset.”
The officer scoffed. “You tried to kill someone.”
Donald smiled wider. “And yet…”
He looked directly at Tyson. “…I’m still the one smiling.”
Tyson’s instincts tightened. Inside his mind, the system activated again.”Future Prediction – 60 Seconds”
His vision flickered. He saw the police handcuffing Donald. He saw them escorting him outside. Then, A black car screeched to a stop.
Lawyers stepping out. Documents appearing. Police reluctantly removed the cuffs. Donald is walking away freely.
The vision vanished. Tyson exhaled slowly. Just like Donald predicted. Janet walked over to Tyson. “You okay?”
Tyson nodded. “I’m fine.”
She studied him carefully. “You dodged bullets.”
Tyson didn’t answer. Janet lowered her voice slightly. “That’s not normal.”
Tyson looked toward the shattered entrance of the building. “Neither is being attacked by a private army.”
Janet sighed. “Fair point.”
Nearby, Tyson’s parents were finally released. His mother rushed forward immediately. “Tyson!”
She threw her arms around him tightly. Tears streamed down her face. “I thought we were going to lose you!”
Tyson hugged her gently. “It’s okay.”
His father walked up slowly. His eyes were red. “You saved us.”
Tyson shook his head. “Not yet.”
His father looked confused. “What do you mean?”
Tyson glanced toward Donald. The man was calmly talking with the police, as if this were all just a minor inconvenience. Tyson lowered his voice. “That man won’t stop.”
His father swallowed nervously. “You think he’ll come after us again?”
Tyson’s gaze hardened. “Yes.”
Across the room, Donald suddenly looked over. Their eyes met again. Donald smiled. Then he mouthed two silent words. “See you.”
Tyson felt a chill run down his spine. Moments later, a group of sharply dressed men entered the lobby. Lawyers. Expensive suits. Confident expressions.
The lead lawyer walked straight toward the police officer. “Good afternoon.”
The officer frowned. “And you are?”
“Attorney Marcus Bell.”
He placed a folder on the table. “I represent Mr. Donald Ford.”
The officer sighed. “Of course you do.”
Marcus Bell calmly opened the folder. “I believe there has been a misunderstanding.”
Janet’s bodyguards scoffed. “A misunderstanding?”
One of them pointed toward the bullet holes. “Your client started a shooting!”
Marcus smiled politely. “Actually…”
He slid several documents forward. “My client was the victim of an attempted kidnapping.”
The room went silent. The officer frowned. “What?”
Marcus continued calmly. “Armed men attacked the building.”
He gestured toward the unconscious attackers. “They attempted to abduct Mr. Ford.”
Janet stepped forward angrily. “That’s a lie.”
Marcus turned to her. “Miss Reddington.”
His smile remained perfectly polite. “Can you prove otherwise?”
Janet froze. Marcus continued. “My client merely defended himself.”
He pointed toward the gun lying on the floor. “Which is legal under self-defense laws.”
The officer rubbed his temples. “This is ridiculous.”
Marcus slid another document forward. “And here we have surveillance footage.”
Janet’s eyes narrowed. “Impossible.”
Marcus smiled again. “Edited footage can be very convincing.”
The officer looked frustrated. Tyson already knew what would happen. Because the system had shown him.
Exactly one minute later, the officer sighed. “We’ll need to investigate further.”
Marcus nodded pleasantly. “In the meantime…”
He gestured toward Donald. “My client will be leaving.”
Janet’s fists clenched. “This isn’t over.”
Donald slowly stood up. Even with his injured wrist, he looked completely relaxed. He walked past Tyson. Then stopped.
He leaned close enough for only Tyson to hear him. “You’re special.”
Tyson didn’t move. Donald’s voice dropped to a whisper. “But special people don’t live long in my world.”
Tyson replied quietly. “You already lost.”
Donald smiled. “No.”
He straightened his suit. “I simply changed the game.”
Then he walked away.
His lawyers surrounded him as they headed toward the exit. Outside, a black luxury car waited. Donald stepped inside.
The car drove away smoothly. Janet stared at the door with a dark expression. “That man is poison.”
Tyson nodded. “Yes.”
Janet turned to him again. “Which brings me to another question.”
Tyson looked at her. “You knew he was cheating.”
“Yes.”
“You knew he was going to shoot.”
Tyson hesitated. Janet crossed her arms. “How?”
Tyson stayed silent. Janet studied him for a long moment. Then she sighed. “Fine.”
She turned toward the elevators. “But you’re coming with me.”
Tyson blinked. “Where?”
Janet looked over her shoulder. “To my office.”
Her expression was serious. “Because the delivery boy who just defeated Donald Ford…”
She paused. “…is someone I want on my side.”
Tyson glanced at his parents. They looked safe now. For the first time in months. Slowly, Tyson nodded. “Alright.”
They stepped into the elevator. As the doors closed, Tyson felt the system activate again. “New Mission Available”
His eyes widened slightly. The glowing message appeared in his mind. “Mission: Build Your First Power Base, Objective: Gain influence within Redd Tower Reward: System Upgrade.”
Tyson’s heartbeat quickened. Because the system was no longer just helping him survive. It was pushing him toward something much bigger.
The elevator reached the top floor. Janet’s office doors opened. But as Tyson stepped inside, another message suddenly flashed across his vision. “WARNING: HIGH-RISK TARGET APPROACHING”
Tyson frowned. Then he looked toward the office window. Across the city skyline On top of a distant skyscraper…
A man was watching Redd Tower through a sniper scope. And the red laser dot slowly settled directly over Tyson’s chest.
