Chapter 1: The Delivery Boy on the Floor
Tyson Hale’s face slammed against the polished marble floor; the crack echoed through the luxurious lobby like a gunshot. For a moment, he tasted nothing but blood.
Then the laughter began. “Look at this idiot.”
“The delivery boy thought he could play the hero.”
A heavy shoe pressed down on Tyson’s back, forcing him flat against the cold marble. The pressure drove the air out of his lungs. Tyson groaned. “Please…” he rasped. “Let me go.”
“Let you go?” one of the men scoffed. “You still don’t understand the situation.”
Tyson lifted his head just enough to see three men in black suits. Donald Ford’s men. Behind them, a terrifying scene unfolded. Two middle-aged figures knelt helplessly on the floor.
Tyson’s chest tightened. “Mom… Dad…”
His mother’s face was pale and streaked with tears. His father’s lips trembled as he clasped his hands together desperately. “Please…” his father begged. “Give us more time… we will repay the money.”
The man standing beside them laughed. “Five million dollars.”
He leaned down toward Tyson’s parents. “You think time grows on trees?”
Tyson struggled violently. “Get your hands off me!”
The man on his back pushed harder. Tyson groaned as his ribs screamed in pain. “You’re the son?” the man asked with amusement.
Tyson glared at him. “Yes.”
The man smirked. “Then good.”
He grabbed Tyson’s hair and forced his head up. “Watch carefully.”
Tyson’s heart pounded. One of the men kicked his father in the stomach. “UGH!”
His father collapsed sideways, coughing violently. Tyson’s eyes widened. “STOP!”
Another kick followed. His mother screamed. “Please! Don’t hurt him!”
The man chuckled. “Then pay the debt.”
Tyson’s fists clenched. “Five million dollars…” he whispered bitterly.
His family had been trapped by that number for months. His father had borrowed money from a powerful gambler. A man nobody dared to challenge. Donald Ford.
The undefeated king of gambling. And now they are here. Inside Redd Tower. The tallest corporate building in the city. Tyson felt humiliation burn through his chest.
He had spent the last year working endless shifts as a delivery rider. Riding through the rain. Through traffic. Through insults. Trying to earn enough money to save his parents. But five million dollars, it was impossible.
The man holding Tyson suddenly spoke. “You know what?”
He leaned down and whispered mockingly. “If your son sells his organs, maybe you can repay a little.”
The room burst into laughter. Tyson’s vision went red. “YOU BASTARD!”
He struggled violently again. But the man slammed his head back into the marble floor. BANG.
Pain exploded behind Tyson’s eyes. “Stay down.”
Footsteps echoed across the lobby. A calm, elegant voice spoke. “What is going on here?”
The laughter stopped immediately. Tyson turned his head weakly. A tall woman walked into the lobby. Her presence alone changed the atmosphere. Sharp black heels. Elegant business suit.
Long dark hair flowing over her shoulders. Her gaze was cold and commanding. One of the men straightened instantly. “Miss Reddington.”
Tyson blinked. Janet Reddington. The CEO of Redd Tower. One of the youngest billionaire executives in the country. She looked at the scene in front of her.
Her eyes narrowed slightly. “Why are there people being beaten in my building?”
One of the men forced a smile. “This is private business.”
“Donald Ford’s business.”
Janet’s expression hardened. “That doesn’t give you permission to turn my company lobby into a torture room.”
The man shrugged. “They owe Mr. Ford five million dollars.”
Janet glanced toward Tyson. Their eyes met briefly. Recognition flickered across her face. “You…”
Tyson frowned slightly. She continued. “You’re the delivery rider from earlier.”
Tyson was confused. Then he remembered. Just thirty minutes ago, outside the building entrance. A woman had tripped while stepping out of her car.
Tyson had caught her before she fell. He hadn’t even realized who she was. Janet folded her arms. “You helped me earlier.”
She turned to the men. “Release them.”
The men exchanged glances. One of them laughed nervously. “I’m afraid that’s not our decision.”
Janet’s voice became icy. “I didn’t ask whose decision it was.”
Footsteps echoed again, and a new voice entered the lobby. Smooth, Arrogant, Amused. “Well… well…”
A tall middle-aged man stepped out of the elevator. Expensive suit. Silver hair. Sharp smile. It was Donald Ford. The room fell silent. He walked slowly toward them. l7]“Janet Reddington,” he said pleasantly.
“To what do I owe the honor?”
Janet’s gaze hardened. “Your men are assaulting people in my building.”
Donald chuckled. “They owe me money.”
He looked down at Tyson. “Five million dollars.”
Then he glanced toward Tyson’s parents. “They borrowed money… and lost it.”
Tyson clenched his fists, and Donald tilted his head. “But I am a reasonable man.”
Janet raised an eyebrow. “Are you?”
Donald smiled. “Yes.”
He snapped his fingers, and a man brought over a poker deck and placed it on the table nearby. Donald tapped the cards. “How about a game?”
Janet’s eyes narrowed. “You’re serious.”
Donald grinned. “If you win… their debt disappears.”
Tyson’s parents looked up in shock. Janet asked coldly, “And if I lose?”
Donald leaned closer. “You give me Redd Tower.”
The entire room froze. Janet’s bodyguards stepped forward. “Miss Reddington, absolutely not.”
But Donald continued calmly. “Your father already owes me millions.”
He smiled. “You know that.”
Janet’s jaw tightened. Her father had indeed lost massive amounts of money gambling with Donald Ford. Donald spread the cards. “So?”
Janet looked at Tyson briefly. Then back at Donald. “Fine.”
The room erupted in shocked whispers. Tyson stared. “You can’t do that!” one of her men said.
Janet ignored them. Donald sat down happily. “Excellent.”
The first game began. Cards slid across the table. Tyson watched from the floor. His heart pounded. He noticed something strange.
Donald’s fingers moved slightly. Almost invisibly, A flick, A shift. Tyson frowned. The cards changed positions. His eyes widened. He’s cheating.
Moments later, Donald placed his cards down. “Full house.”
Janet slowly revealed hers. Two pairs. Donald leaned back laughing. “Ten million dollars.”
Janet’s men cursed. Tyson’s chest burned. This man had cheated openly. Yet nobody noticed. Donald mocked them. “Anyone else want to try?”
Tyson slowly stood up. His body trembled. The entire room turned toward him. Donald looked amused. “And who are you?”
Tyson walked forward quietly. “Tyson Hale.”
Donald smirked. “The delivery boy?”
Laughter echoed again. Tyson sat down at the table. Donald leaned back. “You want to gamble with me?”
Tyson stared at the deck. Then suddenly, a strange voice echoed inside his head.
SYSTEM ACTIVATING…
Tyson froze. The world around him slowed. His vision blurred. Then a glowing line of text appeared in front of his eyes.
ONE-MINUTE PREDICTION SYSTEM INITIALIZED. Tyson’s breathing stopped.
Ability: Future Glimpse – 60 Seconds
Ability: Hyper Calculation Activated
His mind exploded with information, Probability patterns, and card movement predictions. Dealer hand angles. Even Donald’s sleeve movements.
Tyson suddenly understood everything. Donald Ford was switching cards through his sleeve. Every single game. Tyson’s eyes sharpened. Donald tapped the table impatiently. “Well?”
“Are you going to embarrass yourself?”
Tyson looked up calmly. The humiliation around him no longer mattered. Because now he could see something nobody else could. The future.
Tyson placed his hand on the table. “I’ll play.”
Janet’s men exploded. “Are you insane?!”
“Sit down!”
Donald laughed loudly. “This is priceless.”
He leaned forward. “How much do you want to bet, delivery boy?”
Tyson’s voice remained calm. “Another game.”
Donald smirked. “For how much?”
Tyson looked directly into his eyes. Then said something that stunned everyone in the room. “Let’s raise the stakes.”
Donald chuckled. “To what?”
Tyson didn’t hesitate. “One hundred million dollars.”
The room fell into absolute silence. Even Donald’s smile froze. Janet slowly turned to look at Tyson. Her voice was quiet. “You’re serious?”
Tyson met her gaze.
And spoke only two words. “Trust me.”
Across the table, Donald Ford slowly began to smile again. But this time His eyes held a dangerous gleam.
Because for the first time in years, Someone had just challenged him. And the game had only begun.
