Iron walked around the Titans who stood in line. He looked at them with the eyes of scrutiny like he had done before things changed.
They were just six in number, and Iron believed that they would be just enough.
“There must be no mistakes,” he told them. “The man you are going after is ruthless and brutal. If you don’t get him now, he will turn around and sting,” he added.
Iron’s stiff voice filled the room, echoing with power and authority.
It was almost as though he had never left, and maybe Athena was right when she said that it was time to return. This felt like home to Iron, but at the same time, he was taunted by the woes of the past.
They were like evil witches with long and deadly claws, reaching for him with the desire to tear him apart. Being back meant two things for Iron, and he struggled with both, each desperately fighting to take control.
Every corner, he was reminded of the love of his life. Every room, he was reminded of the blood and defeat.
“When do we leave?” One of them asked Iron.
“As early as possible in the morning,” Iron responded.
“I thought it would be better at night,” another said. “Helheim is dead asleep at night,” he added. “This is a weakness that should be used, Lord Dante,” he finished.
While Iron was impressed that they had gone through thorough findings, he still knew that there were things that they needed to learn.
Iron realized that his absence had made them lesser than they were when he was with them, and now, he had to start all the way from scratch.
“Helheim knows that you already know its weakness,” Iron told them. “Did you know this?” He asked.
They shook their heads.
“If you work with the information you have right now, you will walk right into the trap and have your blood spilled like it’s nothing,” he continued.
“But…how did you know this?” One of them asked.
“We are certain that our findings were accurate,” another one said.
They weren’t rebelling. They only thought that they knew exactly what they were doing. Iron had to give that to them, but they need everything about them, especially their sense of reasoning to be accurate and very discerning.
“They are, but so is the fact that they will be waiting for you, knowing that you might want to come at night, but by morning, their resolve would have weakened, and then you can go in with full attack,” Iron stated.
They stayed quiet and listened to Iron as he spoke to them.
“I want Helheim’s head in my hands,” he finished.
“Yes, Lord Dante!” They all chorused in unison.
“Early in the morning, you all are to take the secret route. It will lead you closer to him and get whatever you want done as fast as possible,” he added.
They nodded and walked away. No sooner had they left before Athena walked in.
“Shouldn’t I be going with them?” Athena asked.
“You are to remain as discreet as possible,” Iron instructed her.
He was still worried that the stunt she pulled would create problems for them. He knew exactly how things like this played out. Whatever happened to the Titans, Iron had blamed himself ten times over. Even now, he was still heaping blames on himself, which was exactly why he was doing everything possible to ensure that they were safer than before.
Speaking of safe, Iron thought of Nesse in that very moment, but then again, the mortals weren’t as vile and deadly as the other world.
“You have grown soft,” Athena said. “What happened to you while you were away?” She asked with curiosity.
“I have not grown soft, Athena,” Iron muttered. “I am only thinking of the safety of the Titans. We are not as many as we were before tragedy struck, and I don’t want any more mistakes that will cause the Titans pain,” he responded.
Iron deliberately refused to answer her question.
“Still, I should go with them,” Athena insisted.
“If they were going at night, it would be convenient, but for now, Athena, you have to understand the gravity of what you have done, and that you need to stay right here,” Iron said.
He was beginning to get exasperated with the conversation.
Now that he was back, Iron wanted to get enough time to fix the Titans back to the way they used to be, or even better. He wanted to gain back everything that had been lost, and that included power and authority to be obeyed without questioning.
“Alright then, I will just go out and have some fun,” Athena said.
She turned and walked away before Iron could say another word. He shook his head. Athena had no idea how the world of the mortals worked. Well, on the inside, they felt that they knew it all. After all, they were only humans with blood and no power, and they were always scared to die.
But living in their midst for three years made Iron realize that some of them were actually something close to the devil himself.
Some of them were ruthless and fearless, and they could take the world by its horn, and one of such person was his ex-wife.
Anyway, Iron was more concerned about the ones he had just sent out. With everything he had talked to them about, he knew that nothing could go wrong.
Iron’s eyes were on the door right before it opened and Hades walked in.
“I have news,” Hades said.
“Where is it coming from?” Iron asked.
“The mortals,” Hades responded.
Iron’s mind quickly went to Nesse, but he didn’t act like he had someone or something particular in mind.
“Someone has been arrested over the death of Vince Loreson; a woman,” Hades stated.
Iron scoffed; typical humans. They had probably found someone as replacement for a murder that was committed by someone they couldn’t get.
“Damn them all,” Iron said, shaking his head.
“Vince’s parents are making plans with some of the officials to get her killed while under arrest,” he added.
“Well, I guess you are free then,” I said with a dry grin.
I really didn’t care as long as it wasn’t someone I knew. They could do whatever they wanted to do with their victim.

IRON’S POV“Don’t beat yourself up about it too much, Lord Dante,” Blake kept telling me.For the entire day, I couldn’t shake off the feeling of what seemed like the recent revelation to me, and the guilt that everything the Titans might have been facing was all because of me.“The most important thing is that you now know that there is a problem, and in my opinion, that helps to tackle it,” he added.“You are just trying to be supportive, Blake, but it will not take too long before you tell the other Titans and a rebel will be planned against me,” I told him. From the previous day, to the entire night, and till this very moment, we were still deliberating on this particular issue.“You should know now that I don’t act that way, Lord Dante, and you might just be surprised at how loyal and committed the rest of the Titans are to you,” Blake said without sounding offended. “But speaking of Givan and Norman,” he added.I shook my head.Thinking day and night about it wasn’t going to cha
Secret Anonymous Exposed!
NESSE’S POVI stood in front of my vanity mirror and stared at my stomach. Before now, I would do it with dread, but I was tired of letting this damn disease to control how I handled things. I was always at the helm of every affair that concerned me.And this wouldn’t be different. But I had been stunned to speechlessness for a few minutes; the roundness in my stomach had increased since the last time I saw it.“Didn’t I take a look at it yesterday morning?” I asked myself.I did.I looked at it every freaking morning because each time I opened my eyes at dawn, that was the first thing that came to my mind, no matter how hard I tried to shove it off, and so, I always checked to ensure that I would never be taken unaware. But this morning, I was deeply taken unaware, and the swell I saw left me speechless for a few minutes.“When did it grow to this size?” I continued to ask myself.Till now, I couldn’t touch my stomach, and even when I showered, I ensured to keep off that area, in sli
Long Overdue Neglect
IRON’S POV“Hades is alive,” I said for the umpteenth time.I paced about the floor of my chamber and kept pondering on the thought.Blake was right here with me, but he had stayed quiet all along. The Titans had been locked up in a separate room until I had come to a conclusion on what I wanted to do with them.Death wasn’t the first thing that came to my mind.Right now, I was even still trying to digest everything that they had told me.“And he is the leader of the Valhallahs,” I added. These two revelations were doing my head in.As many times I had repeated the words to myself and out loud, I still couldn’t believe it. It felt as though Givan had merely cooked up a story, and I might not have honestly believed him if he hadn’t shown us the power that he had been given to bury beside our walls to weaken them.A lot of revelations had been spilled that left me utterly speechless.“The Valhallahs were part of the realms who attacked this Organization during the war that happened thr
What Secret?
HADES’ POVThe joy in my heart, knowing that I had murdered the Seer knew no bounds. As I made my way back to the Structure, I couldn’t stop thinking about it.“He is dead and gone,” I said to myself.Again, it was a good thing I kept Syron by my side. I saw his usefulness when no one else did, and now, he was working for just me.While I found my way to the Structure, I detoured.I wanted time to think about my next course of action without any distractions and questions, especially coming from Syron. He always meant good because he was downright loyal, but he was always intercepting my thoughts and decisions. In a few weeks, the walls of the Organization would be weak and easily penetrable. All I would need to do was get in, but I didn’t want to just go about things the way I did with the other realms the last time.We were able to weaken their walls and get in, quite alright, but we weren’t able to fulfill the mission of the whole plan, which was to get Iron; he was too powerful an
The Return
IRON’S POVBlake and I got there in time to see that it was the Titans who had fled from the Organization. The Titans guarding the walls of the Organization held them tightly. Were they trying to sneak their way back into the Organization?“What is going on here?” I asked in my stiff and firm voice. They stopped and stared at Blake and me.“We caught them trying to sneak into the Organization,” one of the Titans answered.“No, we weren’t,” the other Titan responded.I recognized him as Givan. The other one, Norman, was already almost shaking with fear because he already knew that there was punishment for what they had done, but as for Givan, he didn’t look very scared, or even if he did, he was good at shielding it.“Then what were you trying to do?” I asked them.“We are not supposed to be here,” Norman said.I decided here and now that I didn’t want to have this conversation here. Whatever it was, they were here now.“To my chamber,” I stated firmly. And without saying more than tha
The Hardest Thing To Tell
I watched Blake train the Titans, and just like the other trainings that I had watched, it was excellent. I could attest to the fact that the Titans were improving greatly.Blake had a fight with two of them, and surprisingly, they had learned to swing their weapons and keep themselves from getting hurt.Although not well enough because they were fighting with Blake, but they were way better than they used to be, and that was really impressive. As I watched them, I had no regret in making Blake my right hand man.He poured himself and everything he had into the Titans. There was nothing he hid from them, and I knew that soon enough, they would be just as brave and strong.I clapped when Blake ended the training session.“One hour to get something into your stomachs and rest, and then we are back here to continue with the training!” Blake told them firmly. They nodded in agreement. Then they jogged off, but they were also excited that I had clapped for them. I sensed their sense of enc
