Everyone stared at Ryan with wide eyes, a mixture of shock and disbelief etched their faces. Barnes was so shocked that he cringed back, stumbled on a size stool and fell to the floor before getting up again.

He thought he was seeing a ghost.

Catherine rubbed her eyes with the back of her hand to confirm she wasn’t hallucinating. Her jaw dropped when she realized she wasn’t. Yes, it was Ryan, her trash son-in-law whom she had connived with Barnes to get killed— was the same one standing in front of them unscathed.

Kim was equally stunned seeing Ryan. Just now her mother and Barnes clearly told her Ryan had followed some widow and flown out of the country for good. How come he be here now?

Ryan ignored their awkward gaze and approached Catherine. “Mom, you are no longer in pains, thank goodness! I was scared your condition might’ve worsen than it was initially before I left to buy the herbs. Please tell me how to prepare the herbs immediately”.

  • First Task as the manager

As soon as Michael’s eyes landed on Halbert, his heart pounded so hard it felt like it might shatter into pieces. In that moment, he knew he was doomed. Now that Halbert was here, his lies were bound to be exposed.Hannah’s breath hitched the moment she saw him. Without hesitation, she dropped to her knees.“Have mercy, Mr. Singh!” she pleaded desperately. “If my small company has offended you in any way, please tell me. I’ll do anything to make amends. If it pleases you, I’ll even rename the company after you—just please, don’t call off the deal.”Halbert’s brow furrowed as he took in the sight of the elderly woman kneeling before him. He quickly stepped forward, offering his hand to help her up.“Please, stand, Mrs. Kardashian,” he said gently. “There’s no need for this.”Once she was on her feet, he continued, “The deal will be reinstated immediately, but only after the condition I gave your grandson is met.”Hannah’s face twisted in confusion. “Condition?” she echoed, her voice la

  • Michael is Lying

Shortly after the call, Kim arrived the villa with Ryan. Walking into the living room, Hannah was tensed pacing back and forth her arms crossed behind while Kingsley and his son were seated on the couch. As soon as Kim stepped in, Hannah quickly approached her. “Kim dear, you have to go to Pinnacle Investment,” she said holding both of her shoulders, her voice tinged with worry.“Pinnacle? But why, grandma?”“Michael was there a few hours ago to deliver the contract papers and finalize the terms of the deal only to be told by Mr. Singh himself that the deal is off. That is why you must go to Pinnacle and beg him to reconsider his decision,” Hannah disclosed.“Just like that? Mr. Singh called off the deal, without giving any reason?” Kim stunned.“What did you hear, Kim? Just like that!” Michael chimed in arrogantly, his eyes fixed in his phone.“But why? Why would Mr. Singh go back on his words in less than 24 hours, it doesn’t make sense,” Kim pondered out.Ryan who stood beside the

  • The deal is off!

***Earlier that day, almost at the same time Ryan left to buy herbs for Catherine, Michael—now the manager of the Kardashians' KK’s Enterprise—arrived at Pinnacle Investment.Michael walked into the Pinnacle lobby with a jaunty, confident step, clutching a sleek black leather briefcase in one hand. On the other hand, he casually spun his Lamborghini keys around his fingers; the car he bought for himself misusing the company’s funds as the Chief Financial Officer.Taking a brief moment to scan the polished, bustling lobby, Michael’s gaze settled on the receptionist's desk. He strode toward it, his polished shoes clicking loudly against the marble floor.“Good day, sir. Welcome to Pinnacle Investment. How may—”Before the receptionist could finish her greeting, Michael cut her off with a raised palm. His dismissive gesture was accompanied by an air of impatience.“I don’t have time for these formalities. I need to see Halbert Singh, pronto,” he barked, glancing at his watch as if to em

  • Liars!

“Left? What do you mean Ryan’s left for good?” Kim asked, her voice laced with confusion.Catherine dabbed at her eyes with a tissue, feigning woe. “Forgive me, Kim. I tried to stop him—I begged him not to go, but he wouldn’t listen. He’s left you, left us... and he’s not coming back.”Kim’s brows furrowed deeper. “Ryan’s left the house? Mom, I don’t understand what you’re saying.”Catherine slowly wiped away her crocodile tears, her expression a picture of faux sorrow. “Kim, dear,” she began, her voice heavy with contrived emotion, “your husband has left you for a middle-aged millionaire widow who lives abroad. He admitted everything to me—he said she came into town months ago on a business deal, and he’s been cheating on you with her for the past two months.”Kim stared in stunned silence as Catherine continued her tale of deceit.“He confessed that he never truly loved you,” Catherine said, her voice trembling with exaggerated grief. “He’s been pretending all these years just to le

  • Barnes and Catherine

***The moment Ryan stepped out of the house Catherine sat up, stopped groaning, and chuckled mischievously. The change in demeanor was instant—no one who had seen her gasping and wailing a few minutes ago would believe she was the same person now grinning with satisfaction. She snatched her phone from the table and dialed a number. “He’s on his way. You know what to do,” she said curtly before hanging up.Without hesitation, she made another call. “Everything is going perfectly. I’ve sent that loser straight to his grim reapers. You can come over now—it’s time for plan number two,” she whispered, her voice dripping with malice. A sly chuckle escaped her lips as she ended the call.Once she finished the second call, she tossed the phone back to the table, leaned her back into the couch with a sigh of relief. Whatever she was orchestrating was clearly going her way, and she couldn’t have been more pleased. Not long after, there was a sharp knock on the front door of the house. Ca
