The soft chime of the private elevator echoed as it opened on the top floor. Vincent stepped out cautiously, his sneakers pressing into a thick Persian rug that looked like it could pay off a lifetime’s debt. The walls shimmered with golden accents and intricate carvings.

Mr. Keith walked beside him in silence, his steps brisk and composed. There was an air of reverence as if the floor belonged to gods.

They stopped before a grand double-door suite. Mr. Keith turned to Vincent and gave a deep bow. “Mr. Macul awaits you inside, sir,” he said, his voice calm yet respectful.

Vincent blinked. “Uh… alright,” he muttered.

Mr. Keith straightened, took a dignified step back, and turned away, leaving Vincent alone before the door. Heart pounding in his chest, Vincent placed his hand on the polished handle and pushed.

The suite was breathtaking—high ceilings with crystal chandeliers, floor-to-ceiling windows revealing a panoramic view of the city, and furnishings that screamed wealth in whispers of elegance. His steps were slow as he walked deeper, his eyes scanning the room until they fell on a tall, broad-shouldered man standing on the balcony.

The man stood with his back to him, gazing out at the skyline as the wind gently tugged his suit coat. As if sensing Vincent’s presence, the man turned, slowly but surely. His face was aged but regal—sharp features, silver strands gracing his dark hair, and eyes that glowed with emotion.

Then, in a gesture that stole Vincent’s breath, the man strode forward and bowed—not just slightly—but deeply, reverently, his hands folded in front, his back bending almost to a split.

“Greetings, young master,” he said, voice trembling with emotion. “It’s a pleasure to see you after all these years.”

Vincent took a step back, utterly confused. “Um… I think there’s a misunderstanding.”

“There is no misunderstanding,” the man said, rising. His eyes softened. “You came. That’s all that matters. Please, have a seat.”

Still dazed, Vincent walked to the velvet chair and sat, stiffly. “Do you… know me?”

“I do. I know who you are. I know your true family.”

Vincent’s brows furrowed. “My true family?”

“Yes.” The man gave a sad smile, then sat across from him.

Vincent shifted in his seat, uncertain. “I’m sorry but… who exactly are you?”

“My name is Macul Forbes. I was your family’s trusted caretaker,” he said gently. “I managed their businesses, protected their legacy… and I’ve been searching for you for twenty years.”

Vincent let out a dry laugh, shaking his head. “You’ve got the wrong guy. I grew up in the slums. My mom told me she found me by the river.”

“That… is partially true,” Macul said, eyes dimming. “Twenty years ago, there was a fatal car accident on the Helix Bridge. Your mother—Lady Avelyn—was in that car with you. You were four years old. The car plunged into the river. Your body was never found, and everyone believed you drowned.”

Vincent’s chest tightened.

“We never stopped searching. Weeks later, your mother was assassinated by unknown enemies. Her body… was never recovered. Your father disappeared, presumed dead. And your younger sister lies in a coma at Maxine Private Hospital. She’s been like that since the tragedy.”

A chill ran through Vincent’s bones. “No. No, that can’t be. My mother told me I was abandoned…”

“You weren’t,” Macul said firmly. “You were lost. And your memories—likely wiped by trauma. It happens, especially with children so young.”

Vincent stared, mind spinning.

“I promised Lady Avelyn on her deathbed I would find you. And I have.”

“How did you even recognize me?” Vincent asked, voice a whisper.

Macul leaned forward and pointed to Vincent’s arm. “That mark. It’s a phoenix crest. You got it when you were a baby—branded by your father with a sacred seal for protection. Only one heir of Maxine Corps bears that mark.”

Vincent looked down at the faint but intricate symbol on his inner forearm, the same mark he always thought was a strange birthmark.

“How… how do you know all this?” he asked.

Macul smiled sadly. “Because I was your caretaker. I raised you until that fateful day. I served your family with every breath. And now, young master, it’s time. Time for you to reclaim your position as the rightful heir and CEO of Maxine Corps. The business empire your parents built needs you.”

Vincent rose to his feet slowly. His jaw tightened as he stared out the window.

He had begged for jobs, eaten scraps, been mocked, and treated like dirt. All this time, he was heir to an empire worth trillions. The weight of the revelation sat like a boulder on his chest.

“My whole life… I thought I came from nothing,” he whispered. “And all this time, I was born into something so powerful.”

Macul stood, watching him silently.

Vincent turned, eyes burning. “Then I swear,” he said with clenched fists. “I’ll uncover everything. The truth. The enemies. Whoever tore my family apart… I’ll find them. I’ll bring them to justice. I promise.”

Macul nodded slowly. “And you shall, young master.”

Vincent took a deep breath. “I’ll accept the position. I’ll be who I was meant to be… but under one condition.”

“Name it.”

“My identity must remain hidden. For now,” Vincent said. “I need to understand this world from the inside. Not as an heir, but as a man seeking truth.”

And also a man ready to crush and bring every single one who dared to humiliate him to their knees.

Macul smiled, pride glimmering in his eyes. “As you wish. Your word is law.”

Vincent stared out the window again. His heart beat with new purpose. From this day, his life would never be the same.

Macul cleared his throat gently, his tone still warm with excitement. “Young Master Vincent, I believe it’s time you come with me to Maxine Corps. You need to be properly introduced to the board and the major employees. They deserve to meet their true CEO.”Vincent nodded slowly, his mind still reeling. “I will. But… I want to see my sister first.”A light smile curved Macul’s lips. “I had no doubts you’d say that. You two were so fond of each other. I believe when she sees you—when she feels your presence—it will spark something within her. A miracle might happen.”Vincent’s heart clenched. Just the thought of having a sister lying in a hospital bed, in a coma, sent a wave of protectiveness through him. “Then I’ll see her soon.”“Of course.” Macul reached into his suit pocket and pulled out a golden card. It shimmered beneath the suite's crystal chandelier. “In the meantime, please accept this. It’s the access card to this entire suite. You can stay here comfortably until I arrange t
