Chapter 9

David woke up early and went to the nearest Bugatti specialty store. He walked confidently, holding his cracked screen iPhone 6.

"I need the latest and most expensive car in your store," he said boastfully to the sales girl before him.

She glared at his worn-out shoes, his shabby clothes, and his useless cracked screen phone before she uttered, "We're here for business, not for jokes, Mister."

David was upset with her words, what did she mean? "Do I look like a joke?" he asked aggressively.

She scoffed and walked away from him. David felt displeased with her unfriendly attitude, but he was surprised to see her coming towards him again, holding a book. She stretched it out to him—it was a catalog. David reluctantly took it from her and wondered what had made her changed her mind.

He searched through it until he found his choice.

"I prefer this blue Bugatti Chiron Profeli."

She glared at David and muttered, "The price is there."

"Of course, I can see it, $10 million," he responded.

Then, he understood why she had brought the catalog instead of showing him around to make a choice. 'She thought I wouldn't be able to afford it,' he thought silently and smiled.

"I want to make the payment now," he declared.

She couldn't wait to insult David if he ended up causing a nuisance. "Come with me," she said.

David knew what was running through her mind and he was also ready to prove her wrong. He couldn't wait to see her open her mouth in awe too.

He followed her to an office, then she asked for his card. He gave it to her and watched her swipe it on the machine. Uncontrollably, she opened her mouth in bewilderment when the machine signaled a green light.

In her bewilderment, she uttered, "Your transaction is successful, sir."

David felt satisfied to see her in shock. Then he watched her arrange the documents for his car, her hands trembling.

"Take it easy," David knew she was already feeling guilty about her attitude.

"I will, sir," she replied with fear in her heart.

Ping!

A screen displayed some information before him.

'Wow, my strength status has upgraded because I was able to complete the task before the given time,' he thought silently.

His phone made a sound, he checked and it was a debit alert. 'Your account XXXX XX0531 has been debited with the sum of $10,000,000. Your available balance is $950,000,003.'

He slipped his phone back into his pocket, feeling very excited about his life. He now owned a very expensive house and he had just bought a $10 million car for himself. He still have enough money left in his bank account and he had just been rewarded on the system as well. 'Whoa, I feel good,' he celebrated his win.

Just then, he remembered he had no knowledge about driving. His mind flashed to the 'Skills' option on the system.

He clicked on the Skills column and input 'Driving.'

A notification displayed in front of him.

He clicked on Yes and the system started loading.

Instantly, he felt a change in his body and his brain was already loaded with driving skills. In an instant, he knew where the clutch was, how to use the gear, how to hold the brake, and how to accelerate.

He couldn't hold the excitement to himself any longer. "Wow, this system is really great!" he muttered in a very low tone.

"The documents are ready, sir." The lady stretched the documents and the car key towards him. The lady's voice brought him out of his overwhelming thoughts.

"Where's my car?" he asked nonchalantly without giving the lady a glance or collecting the documents from her.

"It's in there," she remarked, walking towards the cars.

While she walked ahead of him holding the documents and car key, David walked calmly behind her. Wealth had changed his way of life so fast. It becomes very clear to him that the common statement which says 'Wealth brings out the real attitude of a human being' is very true.

He collected the key from her to open the car. He opened the door opposite him and ordered the lady to bring the documents to the seat.

She obeyed him instantly, and rushed to drop them. David felt so satisfied that he was controlling her around. He just wanted to teach her a lesson on how to treat people rightly regardless of their looks.

He kick-started the car engine and thought of driving home first. "Zoom!" In a few minutes, he got home.

He parked in front of his apartment, feeling very happy with his life. He felt fulfilled.

"I now have everything every human being could ever wish for," he said aloud to himself.

Just then, he remembered his wife. "Diana betrayed me. I never expected that from her," he uttered with a touch of sadness in his heart.

"The whole Wendy family did me wrong, Mr. Steven Huge is not excluded either," he muttered, thinking of revenge.

"It's time to make them experience the pain I went through," he declared, clenching his fist.

Ping!!

The system appeared before him.

He was bewildered by what he just saw. "Tutfold Plc! That's the biggest company in the entire Glover city."

"I can't believe this!"

He took a glance at the system information and noticed his balance was now "0". Then he believed the system had bought the company in his name for $500 million.
