Prime Tech

Photographers, Journalists, and over a hundred observers flooded toward the premises of Prime Tech Company, clamoring to get close to the entrance.

The security was tight, guards lined up across several areas with the necessary tools to keep uninvited guests out of the building.

That meant that only authorized individuals were allowed to go in- individuals who matched the kind of caliber of people who deserved to be in that kind of setting.

Prime Tech was the biggest Tech Company in the City, operating vastly with several branches across the continent.

It was hosting the most flamboyant party, but merriment was not just the order of the day.

Something big was going on. Something that could change the lives of minor companies, and everyone wanted a piece of the cake.

five hundred billion dollars over the two hundred billion was up for grabs, and the companies with the best business proposals were going to grab it.

CEOs, Managers, CMDs, and any other person who thought they stood a chance flooded into the hall of the Company complex.

But something was crazy about the entire situation.

No one knew who the President of the Company was, and the only thing they could do was speculate.

“Maybe it belongs to the President of the Country.” A middle-aged man in a blue suit suggested to his partners while they strode toward the entrance of the tall building.

“Or maybe all the richest men in the world came together to build such conglomerate. No one is powerful and wealthy enough to own such an establishment alone.” Another pointed out, affirming his thoughts with a nod.

“I don’t care about all of that…” The third cut in, walking faster than the others.

“All I know is that whoever is lucky to be among the three companies to be chose has no business looking for another client in a over decade…”

His partners nodded in support while they presented their invites on their phone screens to the security guards who let them in after confirmation.

Across the avenue, close to the gardens that were positioned close to each other, cars were still wheeling in, in their numbers.

But the parking space was enough, its capacity enough to contain at least a hundred vehicles.

It wasn’t long before a white Bugatti Divo zoomed into the territory, occupying one of the few spaces in the lot.

Heads turned, fingers pointed and necks stretched.

Everyone waited to see who was inside.

Romeo Jones was the first to alight, and then he moved to open the other door for Pearl.

They were both dressed to impress, putting on quite expensive jewelry.

Pearl smiled to the cameras, and no matter the number of flashlights, they were barely enough to make her blink.

“We are going to kill it, Romeo!” She chuckled in anticipation, conviction laced in her tone.

“Oh, yes!” Romeo nodded, his face beaming with delight.

“I just need to contact the Manager of Prime Tech to tell him that we are here, Pearl…” He took out his phone and dialed a number in a hurry.

“He has assured us of the second and first places to be awarded the contract.”

“Amazing!” Pearl squealed, her smile refusing to vanish.

“I certainly made the right choice by picking you over that deadbeat ex-husband of mine. He couldn’t even afford a proper wedding. But here you are, offering me the best life-changing opportunity.” She leaped and kissed Romeo until she noticed that there were too many eyes staring.

She pulled away slowly, rubbing his lips with her thumb.

“He is not picking…” Romeo broke the silence, his smile slowly drifting away.

“I guess he is occupied. Today is going to be a very busy day for him.” He said to make himself feel better, taking the device off his ear.

“Don’t worry…” Pearl cut in, refusing to get rid of her smile.

“I am sure he is aware that we will be here soon. He will not fail us.”

“You are right. Why am I even worried?” Romeo replaced his gloom, instantly with a smile.

“Shall we?” He offered his hand to the lady, then he noticed she was distracted.

“What are you looking at?” He inquired, but instead of waiting, he decided to see for himself, switching his gaze to the direction her eyes had gone.

From a distance, the Lamborghini Veneno slowly drifted toward the parking lot, approaching the couple.

“Is that Arya Kirk’s car?” Romeo observed, his voice barely above a whisper.

“That bitch!” Pearl grunted, her eyes glittering with disdain.

“I didn’t know she was going to make it.”

Brian seemed like the only one who wasn’t moved by compassion, standing firm with his deadpan expression.Rebecca stared at Emilio with pity in her eyes, and before she realized it, she was already approaching him with staggering steps.“What happened, Emi? Why were you arrested?” She asked with concern glittering in her eyes, and the moment Emilio saw it, he took advantage of it. “I…” He sobbed silently, taking a deep breath. “After your brother kicked me out of this city, I decided to make something out of my life. There was no way I was going to sit idle and do nothing…” He took a break, sniffling twice for every second he was silent. “So, I joined this group of guys. A friend introduced me to this business. I thought it was just the usual offloading of cargo, but not until I got in. They made me sign an agreement of secrecy. They said it was a precaution….” “But that was a lie. They were importing weapons. Guns and ammunition of different kinds…”Rebecca covered her mou

  • Thrown in Prison

“Did you just threaten me?” Brian asked, staring with an arched brow. “Was that a threat?” He repeated, taking a deep breath. “What do you think it is?” Emilio retorted, gritting his teeth in anger. “After everything your father did to me. You should be on your knees, apologizing. You should beg me for forgiveness!” He growled inwardly, pointing to the scar on his neck. Brian exhaled sharply, taking two steps closer to the middle-aged man.“I am not my father, Mr. Emilio. I cannot even claim to be aware of what happened to you…”“But his blood runs in your veins!” Emilio pointed out, his finger vibrating. His eyes burned like magma, like hot coals enough to flame. “Tiago Regal’s blood runs inside you, boy! You are his son, and I am sure you will be just like him.” “That’s a very funny thing to say, Mr. Emilio,” Brian said calmly, then he took two steps forward. “Because you are not entirely innocent yourself…” “What the hell are you talking about?” Emilio groaned,

  • Not a Guard

“Why not?” Brian replied almost immediately, turning to face Emilio. “You are asking why not?” Emilio scoffed, then he sniggered. “Because you are not family, boy! You are just a fucking bodyguard! You should be outside the door, keeping watch. That's where you belong. Now, go. Go do your damn job!” His voice was low but imperative, his gesture as arrogant as he was. “I wonder why you think it’s okay to interfere with a family discussion. You don’t know your boundaries. Get the hell out of here and let the family members talk…” Brian chuckled softly, turning to Rebecca. The lady said nothing, still dealing with her emotional baggage. “You want me to leave?”“Yes, boy! Get the hell out of here!” Emilio insisted, then he turned to Vicky. “Is he deaf?” He asked, but he was too ignorant to notice the look on her face, not only hers, but Carl’s as well. Rebecca was the only one who had a different countenance, and it was all because of her mood. She was heartbroken and r

  • Carl’s Father

Rebecca swallowed hard, and maybe it would have been easy for her if all the eyes in the room weren’t on her. She looked like she was standing trial, her frantic breath still in charge. “I didn’t have any choice…” She muttered, shaking her head as though it was too heavy. “I had to protect you guys. You are my children…” “That’s not the answer to my question, Mum.” Carl cut her short, eyes sparkling with impatience. “Is…” He sniffled, eyes burning with annoyance. “Is my father truly dead? Just like you told me?” “Carl…” Rebecca’s tone was broken, more tears welling in her eyes. “Just answer the question, Mum. I am begging you…” Carl pleaded, yet there was still anger in his voice. “Is he still alive? Is my father still alive?” He asked for the umpteenth time, his voice getting more distraught with every sound. Rebecca took a deep breath, then she turned to Vicky, shifting her gaze to Emilio the next second. “This is all your fault…” She said, scowling at him. “M

“Carl?” Rebecca called out to her son the moment she set her eyes on him, then she began to walk up to him.“What are you doing here?” She asked, staring with wide eyes.Carl said nothing, his entire attention on the man at Brian’s mercy.“Who is he?” He asked, but before he could get a response, someone else walked in.“Vicky?” Rebecca muttered, then she rushed to grab her.“You guys should be out there, with the guests.” She grabbed Carl as well, but he was too strong to pull.“What’s going on here, Mum? Why is Brian holding that man like he is a thief?” Vicky asked, turning while she refused to yield to her mother’s push.“That’s because he is a thief, Vicky.” Rebecca was quick to respond, but the uneasiness in her tone was still intact.“I need you guys to return to the hall and stay with the guests. Brian and I will handle this, okay?”“Is that my daughter?!” Emilio bellowed, then he made the umpteenth attempt to stand.“Let go of me, you bastard!” He yelled at Brian, but that wa

“Seriously?” Emilio huffed, a slight disbelief in his eyes.“Are you just going to stand there and watch your thug insult me?” He turned to Rebecca with a glare plastered across his face, but it didn’t seem like he was going to get any response from her, no matter how long he waited.“Becky?” He called out, reaching to grab her.“Don’t…” Rebecca pulled back at once, rolling her eyes at him.“You heard him…” Her voice was barely above a whisper, her eyes sparkling with annoyance.“It’s time for you to leave, Emilio. I never want to set my eyes on you again. You have done enough reminding me of my pains.”Emilio scoffed, looking the lady in the eyes.“You want me to leave?” That was a rhetorical question, but he still got a nod from the lady. The next second, Brian stepped forward, turning to Emilio with burning eyes.“It’s either you leave the easy way or the hard way.” His tone was calm, yet there was a kind of dominance sparkling in his eyes.Emilio ignored it, returning his gaze to
