"Hello? Anyone there?" Barlor tried again, louder this time. His voice echoed back at him from the walls. The sound made him feel even more isolated. The Divine Dragon was supposed to be watching over him, but it seemed like he was left to fend for himself.

Barlor started tapping his foot, trying to stay calm. The steady rhythm helped a bit, but frustration built inside him. Was this some sort of test? Was TEMPEST watching from the shadows, waiting to see how he would handle the silence?

He knew he had to keep waiting, but it was getting harder by the minute. Barlor took a deep breath, trying to focus on staying calm. He didn’t want to lose his cool and make things worse.

But the uncertainty was becoming too much to handle. He needed some kind of answer, some indication that he wasn’t completely forgotten.

No response came.

Suddenly, Barlor realized something. "My wounds." The agonizing pain that had enveloped him vanished instantly. Overjoyed, he credited the dragon for granting his wish of a quick and painless death.

He opened his eyes and was shocked to find that he was still in the same place, but the massive dragon that had been looming over him was gone. Not a trace of it remained. No crumbling scales, no distant roar to suggest it had flown off. It was as if the dragon had vanished into thin air.

Barlor quickly checked his body, expecting to see bruises and cuts from the earlier battle. Instead, his skin was unmarked, as if he had never been hurt at all. His old scars were gone too, leaving him baffled.

Then a high-pitched sound echoed inside his head, sending a sharp pain through his skull. "Ah!" he gasped, clutching his head, wincing from the intensity. It was unlike anything he'd ever felt before. As he stumbled back, trying to steady himself, a transparent blue holographic text box appeared in his line of vision, hovering like a ghostly apparition.

"INTIGRATING THE Divine Dragon System," it read.

Barlor stared in disbelief. "What does that even mean?" he wondered aloud, still reeling from the sudden changes. He felt a surge of energy inside him, a feeling he had never known before. "Is this real?"

He watched the text float in front of him, waiting for more information, his heart racing with a mix of fear and excitement.

Barlor blinked repeatedly, struggling to determine whether he was dreaming or hallucinating. He pinched his cheeks, hoping to wake himself up, but the pain felt all too real. At 24 years old, he was far beyond the typical age for a System Bearer transformation, which made him a rarity. Late bloomers like him were exceptionally uncommon, with less than a thousand recorded cases in the last century. Yet, here he stood, seemingly unharmed after an encounter with a dragon, while a holographic text box informed him that he had awakened the Divine Dragon System.

"This has to be real," he muttered to himself. He felt the connection to the dragon was undeniable. Perhaps this encounter had triggered something dormant within him.

Suppressing his excitement, Barlor knew he needed to leave the cave before anything else could happen. The walls felt like they were closing in, and he sensed an urgency to escape the strange occurrences. Glancing around, he noticed the dim light of the sun filtering through the cave’s entrance. The eerie silence heightened his anxiety, urging him to find a way out.

"Okay, Barlor, you can do this," he whispered, trying to encourage himself. He took a deep breath and started toward the light. "Just keep moving."

As he moved, he could not shake the feeling that something was still watching him. "What if the dragon comes back?" he wondered aloud. The thought sent a chill down his spine.

He quickened his pace, his heart racing. "I need to get out of here. I can’t be stuck in this cave," he said, pushing against the walls to keep himself steady.

He remembered that, as a member of Manny’s party, he might receive a prompt to exit the area after the raid concluded. This possibility offered him a glimmer of hope. If he could escape without facing further dangers, it would change everything.

Determined, Barlor made his way toward the cave's entrance. He hoped to find an exit button that would help him leave safely. As he walked, a sense of resolve built within him. If he had truly awakened the Divine Dragon System, he was no longer just a Blank; he was a System Bearer, a potential force to be reckoned with. But first, he needed to survive the cave.

As he navigated the dimly lit tunnel, Barlor noticed a small, transparent "Power" icon that appeared in his field of vision. Without thinking, he tapped it. A holographic interface appeared, resembling a smartphone. Icons labeled Status, Inventory, Profile, and even a contact feature floated in front of him.

"Wow, this is amazing!" he said, marveling at the convenience. "This is why System Bearers rarely use their phones."

Barlor remembered how he had dreamed of this day for 24 years. Suddenly, he noticed a red dot above his "inbox" icon. He felt a rush of excitement. "I should check this out," he thought, tapping the dot.

He opened the inbox and saw a message flash across the screen. "Welcome, new System Bearer! You have unlocked the Divine Dragon System. Your abilities will now manifest."

"New abilities?" he whispered, his heart racing. "This could change everything."

He took a deep breath and continued to walk, focusing on the path ahead. "I just need to get out of here," he muttered, feeling more hopeful with each step.

His heart raced as he closed his eyes, envisioning himself adorned with majestic dragon wings and fierce claws. "Here goes nothing," he whispered, anticipation tingling in his veins.

Suddenly, he felt a surge of energy surge through his arms. Barlor opened his eyes, and his hands glowed with a brilliant red aura, morphing into claw-like shapes. He gasped in amazement, staring at his transformed hands. "Whoa, this is incredible!" he exclaimed, his excitement bubbling over.

A pair of shimmering wings formed on his back, radiating a powerful heat that distorted the air around him. Barlor laughed, the sound echoing off the cave walls. "I can't believe this is real!" His voice filled with joy, he spread his arms wide, feeling the thrill of freedom.

“Woohoo!” he shouted, an uncontrollable smile lighting up his face. With newfound confidence, he leaped into the air, his wings unfurling. The rush of wind met his face, and he soared higher than he ever thought possible. "I'm flying! I'm actually flying!" His laughter mixed with the sound of the wind as he reveled in the sheer exhilaration.

As he flew, the world below transformed into a vibrant blur. Thanks to his Dragon Sight, everything remained clear to him despite the incredible speed. “This is amazing!” he shouted, feeling invincible. The sky opened up before him, and he left a trail of red light behind him as he ascended into the heavens.

Eager to test his powers further, Barlor spotted a cluster of large rocks in the distance. “Let’s see what I can do!” he declared, determination fueling his every move. He darted towards the rocks, a fierce grin on his face. With a burst of energy, he unleashed a flurry of slashes with his clawed aura. The rocks crumbled effortlessly, debris scattering around him like confetti. “Barlor the Blank is no more!” he shouted triumphantly, his voice booming with pride.

He continued to bask in his newfound strength, his heart swelling with empowerment. Then his gaze fell on the largest boulder nearby, a massive chunk of rock that towered over him. “I’m going to lift that!” he said, eyes gleaming with ambition. He landed beside the boulder, folding his aura wings behind him.

With both hands gripping the stone, Barlor gritted his teeth and lifted it off the ground. To his surprise, it felt surprisingly light. “I’m strong now!” he exclaimed, a wide grin spreading across his face. “I can do this!”

With a mighty heave, he tossed the boulder several meters away, watching it crash to the ground with a thud that sent dust flying into the air. Barlor stood there, exhilarated, the sense of invincibility surging through him.

“Nothing can stop me now!”

"Ever since I awakened, this is the first time I’ve felt even a twinge of pain," he admitted, his voice carrying a weight that hadn’t been there before. His eyes narrowed as he looked Vax over, sizing him up as if realizing for the first time that this fight might actually pose some challenge. Yeah?” Barlor said nonchalantly, a smirk tugging at his lips. “Maybe you should have taught your Vice some respect. He attacked a defenseless Blank inside a Dungeon Gate and left him for dead. What kind of example is that?”Vax's expression softened a little. “I admit, Manny was wrong,” he responded, and Barlor was taken aback by Vax's unexpected reasonableness, making him slightly uncomfortable. “But you didn’t have to destroy my base and hurt my guildmates to deal with just one person.”Barlor shifted his stance, feeling a flicker of guilt. Perhaps he had overreacted. “You’re right,” he acknowledged, rubbing the back of his neck. “I could’ve handled it differently. I’m not perfect, and I sometimes let my anger take over.” He met Vax’s gaze. “So, what happens now? Do you want an apology, or are you here to prove a point?”“No need for apologies,” Vax replied, his expression turning serious once more. “This is about honor and justice.” His voice was firm. “I challenge you to a duel.
