A Huge Sum

After the gangsters had left the warehouse, it was just Roland, the old man, and the men in a black tailored suits.

Roland was still in shock, his mind kept on replaying the scene that occurred a few minutes ago. The way man's aura felt intimidating.

The way small boss got humiliated and fortunately for him, these men cleared his debt.

"Thank you for saving me from the hands of those gangsters but who are you?" Roland forced himself to speak.

These men especially the old man can't be anonymous. They must have a reason for being generous to him.

A smile played on the old man's lips as he leaned forward, patting Roland's should before heaving a sigh of relief.

"Young Master, there's more than meet the eyes." The old man smiled sweetly at him. He creases his wrinkled eyes.

"I know you're old so can you do me a favor by explaining to me what is going on!", Roland spoke as gently as possible.

He was indeed grateful to the old man but keeping him in suspense is actually what he doesn't like.

Also, he couldn't afford to yell at the old man go hit the nail on the head. Maybe that'll be the end of him.

After much pressure, the old man let the cat out of the bag and told Roland most of the things he needed to know.

"You're the heir to the biggest consortium in the world and you were declared missing when you were young." The old man revealed.

Roland found it amusing so he laughed it off but later came to his senses of finding seriousness in the old man's words.

"How can this be? What proof do you have?"

This old man surely knows how to fool him.

Things became more confusing to Roland when the old man whispered something to one of the men in black's ear. When he was done, he turned to Roland with a hilarious smile.

"You want proof, why don't you check the message that was sent to your phone!?"

Immediately Roland did that, his jaws dropped, his breath was hitched and his eyes widened in surprise.

What the...?

"Hundred million what? This is a huge sum!" Roland couldn't hide his excitement.

This was just proof and he partly believed the old man's words, or moreover, he then believed every word.

A satisfactory smile formed on the old man's lips. He passed a badge to Roland.

Roland just stared at it curiously. "What's this?"

The badge had a logo on it LA and Roland saw that it was the same badge the men had on the pocket of their suits.

But the one given to him was made of quality as theirs was just attached to their suit.

"This is the family logo. I got mine on and so are the others." The old man explained.

"With the badge, no one would be able to harass you or whatsoever they wanna do, even the police, all you have to do is show it to them."

Roland's eyes widened in amazement. This was so good to be true

He never knew he was from a rich background and he had to go through a lot and even owe the gangsters just because he couldn't afford to pay for his so-called girlfriend's bills.

Roland didn't want the good feeling he had now to seize, it should last longer.

He held onto the golden badge tight and kissed it. The old man giggled on seeing his reaction.

"I'm sorry to spoil your joyful moment but would you like to meet your parents?" The old man asked, expecting him to accept the meeting with his parents.

But Roland reluctantly refused. "I'd love to see my parents but I want to go back to my house now!"

"Your parents were worried sick about you. We'll follow your orders for now."

Roland nodded simply at him.

The old man gave orders to one of the men in black, telling him to take Roland back home while he called unto another driver to pick him up from the warehouse.

The man nodded in approval, he opened the car door for Roland to enter but he was nervous.

"When you've settled things, you can come to find me in Lafayette Mansion." The old man said, he placed his hand inside his suit and brought out a card from his inner pocket, and handed it to Roland before turning his back to leave.

The man in black closed the car door and they headed straight to Roland's home.

Meanwhile, inside the car, Roland couldn't stop thinking. Why on Earth would he get lost when he was young?

He knew he was brought up in the orphanage before leaving to pursue his race.

His surname is the most common name in every search engine or history but he never knew it.

There were some questions he'd like to ask because all of these were happening too fast to him.

Roland finally got to his destination but he told the man that was sitting in the driver's seat not to drive any further.

"Thank you for the ride, I'll just stop here!"

The man nodded. "Young master, if you need anything just call the phone number on the card or you can find your way to the mansion." The man said as a sort of reminder.

"Mmm," Roland nodded in understanding before waving at the man.

The latter sighed in relief and tiredness before heading to his house. All he needed to peace of mind. With peace of mind, he could be able to sleep peacefully.

This was all sort of a dream to him

However, when he opened the door, he heard the laughter of a woman.

He knew that it was the voice of his girlfriend. Roland chose to ignore her since he was tired and couldn't go through the stress of confronting her.

"She's laughing over her phone or something. After all, she made me pass through today." Roland sighed, He was also grateful to her because of not for the money he owed.

He couldn't have been able to miss the opportunity of knowing his background.

Suddenly, his thoughts were cut off by the voice of a man.

"What the...!?" He exclaimed. He was shocked and furious at the same time.

What the hell was a man doing in his house?

Roland rushed to the bedroom and found his girlfriend making out with another man on his bed.
