Jessica's heart almost fell when she heard that Sophia was alive; she wasn't expecting that to be possible. And that left her dumfounded, at least; she knew her daughter was still out there.

Jessica, at this stage, was badly confused, but deep down, that knowledge eased her worry a little; yet another part of her was battered by the probability that Sophia might not fully recover.

“Will she be okay? Could you please try to locate her current location further? You need to help me,” Jessica asked, tears slowly streaming down her cheek.

"I'm sorry, Jessica, but that's all I know for now. I can't give you a guarantee that any info about this will be available again, and please pay me the remaining half of the money you promised after getting this intel. I don't like it when I'm disappointed. Please," the man said.

Jessica took a very deep breath before replying. "Thank you for helping. And don't worry about the other half, I will send it to your account right away."

After she said this

Sophia leaned forward. “Tell them that it's just some technical issues and that everything is fine, okay? If you refuse to do as I have said, I will have no other choice but to kill you in the most cold-blooded way.” Out of fear, the security man decided to do as Sophia had asked. “Sir, copy, sir, it's simply a technical issue. Everything is fine over here,” the man spoke into the phone. After the call was over, Sophia pushed her hands over the security man's hair and then caressed it softly with a smile tugging on her lips. “Good boy, don't worry, I won't kill you, okay?” Hearing Sophia's calm voice, the man lowered his guard, thinking he was saved.Sophia then leaned closer to the man, her face facing his and her lips shifting to a sneer. “I will make you survive in one condition: only if you tell me how this prison setting is. I would like to break someone out.” The security man freezes. Though he had expected that. He pushed his hands to the phone in his pocket, wanting to s

  • Chapter 315: Satisfy their Urge

Fiona's fist clenched, and her hands began to glow intensely red. And after harnessing the heat from the earth, she stretched her hands towards the mansion, and in that instant. Buzz!Flames engulfed her hands and hurled straight to the mansion; the mansion burst into flames. Shinda, who had just regained consciousness, stared. “No, what about Hazel? She might be inside, and also the kid. No, I have to save them.” Shinda tried to stand from the ground, but it was too late. And apart from that, he couldn't even move his hands or his legs. He was completely paralyzed. Tears rolled down from Shinda's eyes as he saw the entire mansion engulfed in total flames. His fear was that Hazel could be sleeping and must not have noticed all that was happening. The same thing applied to Amanda. “Ahhhhh, damn you,” Shinda gritted his teeth as he shouted in anguish. Sophia walked toward Shinda, then used her foot and kicked him in the mouth. “You fool, shut the hell up. Do you want to deafen me

  • Chapter 314: Burning the Mansion

On reaching the door, it burst open, flying into the air. Shinda quickly took cover, and the metallic steel of the door crashed into his body. The door was so huge that Shinda wondered how it could be brought down that easily. Shinda knew even an explosive couldn't make such a thing possible. As the debris cleared off, before Shinda were Sophia and Fiona, standing firm, with Fiona's hands glowing red as if radiating a high vortex of heat energy from her body channeling to her hands. It was then did Shinda realize that the huge door flung towards him was indeed brought down by Fiona. “Shit, what's happening? Could it be what I am thinking?” Shinda knew that Fiona had fluid on her body that was made by Valtor, but he wasn't expecting it to give her superpowers that could take down a heavy door of that size. “Oooh boy, it looks like we have another threat in front of us,” Sophia sneered, then turned and faced Fiona. “Why not put him in his place, take him down, okay?” As soon as th

  • Chapter 313: Setting Her Free

“I don't believe you… How on earth do you think I will ever believe what you are saying, let alone follow you to wherever you are suggesting?” Fiona yelled at Sophia, flaring her fist to punch her right in the face. Sophia sighed deeply before raising her gaze at Fiona. “It looks like we have to do this the hard way. Valtor needs you, and I'm not leaving you here.” “Valtor, you say?” Fiona's brow arched in anger. “I knew it; it was that bastard who had sent you here all along. He is the reason I have gone insane; the fluid that runs in my brain is what has made me hurt my daughter once.” “And that fluid is what you will use to save Valtor. I'm not taking any suggestions from you. Now, stand, let's go,” Sophia instructed sharply. “You think you could just command me, like a Dracula, to rise and follow you, you bitch? Get lost. And I think this is the right time to call to the attention of Hazel. She needs to tell me why she has allowed a lunatic like you here.” Sophia then scoffe

  • Chapter 312: Shackles and chains

Sophia's strange behavior kept Hazel wondering what she was really trying to do. The way she talks and fakes an act was already getting on Hazel's nerves, and she feels like punching her in the face, but she couldn't. Hazel shifted her gaze to Amanda. “Let's go, Amanda, we have some other things to do, alright?” “Hold a minute, are you trying to ignore me while talking to you? I thought you wanted to slap me earlier. Why not slap me now? I'm patiently waiting to get slapped, please slap me.” Sophia became more persistent. She stood firm on the path, refusing to move an inch away from the road. Hazel took a deep breath, her lungs heavy with anger, and upon that, Hazel gripped Amanda's hands, trying to prevent her from overreacting and storming forward. Because Amanda had already gotten enough of Sophia's problems, and she wanted to show her the piece of hers. “Please get out of our way; we don't have time to exchange words with you,” Hazel said. Sophia then smirked and folded her

  • Chapter 311

The mansion was wild and uniquely built, having a lot of entrances and hidden places, which are hardly detectable. The passage where Hazel and Amanda stood was somewhat private, leading to the room where Amanda’s mother was. In the passage lies many other rooms, each of them with their purpose. Sophia wasn’t supposed to be there at that specific time. Which makes the entire situation look upward. Before getting to the passage, one must be able to have a pass code, but Sophia didn't have any. “Where are you coming from, you two snitches?” Sophia asked, her expression changing, clearly evident anger. When Sophia noticed Hazel wasn’t going to answer the question she had thrown at her. She stepped a little bit forward, and by using her body, she blocked the way, then folded her arms against her chest as she stared.“Answer me, or else you are not going to take an inch forward. Where are you coming from? I guess this specific passage is supposed to be private, or could you be keeping a
