Early the next morning, Jack wore a well-tailored light gray suit, which made his tall figure even more imposing.

Isabella chose an elegant white dress, pulled her blonde hair up, and applied a light touch of makeup.

Now that her appearance was restored, she was radiant—stunningly beautiful.

Raymond Brown—Jack’s loyal butler and driver—chauffeur-driven them to the city hall in a black armored car.

The city hall was a typical Gothic building—solemn and dignified.

They waited in line excitedly, ready to register their marriage.

"You two make such a handsome couple—perfect for each other!" The middle-aged female clerk in charge of registration smiled and praised them as she handed over the forms.

Jack was about to hand over the identification documents that Raymond had specially prepared when suddenly—

Bang!

The lights in the city hall flickered violently, then went out completely!

At the same time, noisy shouting and the sound of breaking glass came from outside the window!

"What’s going on? A power outage?""There are homeless people rioting outside! They’re smashing things!"

Chaos erupted in the hall.

Isabella instinctively moved closer to Jack, looking nervous.

However, after waiting for nearly an hour, the power still hadn’t been restored—and the commotion outside had grown even louder.

The clerk apologized, explaining that there was a fault in the main power line and they couldn’t process registrations that day.

Disappointment was written all over Isabella’s face.

Jack gently ruffled her hair, comforting her. "It’s okay—we’ll come back another day. How about we go to the Hart family’s house first? We can share the good news with them and let them see how you look now."

Isabella’s eyes lit up, and she nodded.

She also wanted her family to see her transformation and her happiness.

But that joy was overshadowed when they reached the gate of the Hart family’s villa.

A familiar black Mercedes was parked at the door—it was Daniel Davis’s car.

Isabella’s face darkened instantly, and Jack’s eyes turned slightly cold.

When they walked into the living room, they saw Daniel Davis—dressed in an eye-catching white suit—holding a glass of red wine, chatting merrily with Arthur and Martha.

A proud smile was plastered on his face.

When Daniel’s gaze fell on Isabella, who walked in, the smile on his face froze instantly.

It was replaced by extreme shock and greedy admiration!

He jolted, spilling red wine on the carpet.

"I... Isabella? Is that you?!" He practically jumped up, hurrying over to her.

His eyes burned with desire as he stared at her. "Your face... my God! How did you... become so beautiful?!"

Martha was also stunned.

The teacup in her hand dropped to the floor, shattering into pieces. "Bella! Your face... it’s really healed?!"

"Jack helped me," Isabella took Jack’s arm, her tone filled with pride.

"Mom, Grandpa—Jack and I have decided to get married."

Arthur and Martha exchanged a look, their eyes filled with calculation.

Daniel immediately grabbed Isabella’s hand, his tone urgent and fake.

"Bella! You’re healed! That’s wonderful! I was young and foolish back then—I was blinded by stupidity! I’m sorry! Forgive me! Let’s start over! The Davis family is about to cooperate with a top Washington consortium—I can give you everything you want!"

Isabella yanked her hand away, her tone cold.

"Daniel, cut out your disgusting act! Where were these apologies when you called me a ‘scar-faced monster’? I love Jack now—please leave!"

"Bella! Don’t be silly!" Martha rushed over immediately, grabbing Isabella’s other hand with a "sincere" tone.

"Daniel is your perfect match! You’re from the same social class! Jack... no one knows where he’s from—he’s too dangerous! If you go with him, what if one day..."

Arthur also put on a stern face, wielding his authority as family head.

"Isabella! The Hart family raised you all these years—you should think about the family too! Marry Daniel, and the Davis family will inject capital immediately to solve our crisis! This is your duty as a Hart!"

Isabella looked at her mother and grandfather in disbelief, her heart turning cold.

"Duty? So now that I’m useful again, I’m just a tool for you to trade for benefits? Jack healed my face and gave me a new life! But you’re forcing me to leave him—all for money?"

Ethan, who had just come down the stairs, was stunned when he saw Isabella’s restored beauty.

Hearing Arthur’s words, he immediately chimed in.

"That’s right! Isabella! What’s wrong with Daniel? He’s way better than this guy with an unknown background! Marry him, and you can keep being a wealthy young lady!"

Jack watched the farce coldly, pulling Isabella behind him to protect her.

His tone was icy.

"Isabella is not your commodity. Who she marries is her freedom."

"Freedom?" Martha shrieked.

"If you want to marry my daughter, prove it! Prove you can protect her and bring real benefits to the Hart family! Get the one-million-dollar renovation contract for White’s Resort by the end of the month! If you can’t, leave my daughter immediately and never come back!"

The White’s Resort contract was fiercely contested, and Manager Powell was notoriously difficult to deal with. Martha’s demand was clearly intended to make Jack back down.

Ethan immediately sneered.

"Hahaha! Did you hear that? A one-million-dollar contract! If you can’t get it, get lost! And you have to kneel down and apologize to Daniel!"

Daniel crossed his arms, a look of schadenfreude on his face.

Jack looked at their snobbish faces, a cold smile tugging at his lips.

His eyes were filled with contempt.

"No need to wait until the end of the month."

He put his arm around Isabella’s shoulders, his gaze sweeping over Arthur, Martha, and Daniel.

"Tomorrow, I’ll put the signed contract in front of you. I hope by then, you’ll remember what you said today."

With that, he ignored the jeers and taunts behind him, took Isabella’s hand, and walked resolutely out of the disgusting house.
