Elijah was brought to a casino with an underground entrance, and soon enough, he was below the main building, making steps down the dark staircase with the terrifying-looking gang members following closely behind him.
When they arrived at the main underground structure, two burly men roughly dragged a man past them. He was screaming, but they only kicked him to remain quiet. "Slick Sal, is that you? You returned early today" A deep manly voice came from the inner chambers of the underground. Only when they got closer did the image of a middle-aged man in a wheelchair appear. Behind him was a group of men in black carrying heavy firearms. It was obvious that this man was not ordinary; he was a powerful figure in the Brooklyn Heights underground crime system. "Boss, I brought you a guest. This man here claims to be the best doctor in the world and has a solution to any sickness at all, including yours." The leader of the group, who went by the name 'Slick Sal,' didn't hesitate to polish the matter in front of his boss. The person in the wheelchair was known throughout the underground crime system as Jafari D-King, the man who, alongside his retired brothers in arms, had created and funded the Underground system of the country. Mr. Jafari was the last standing among his brothers in arms and has since become a significant figure that even the police cannot touch. There was nothing linking him to crimes and even if you managed to find one in the end, you might just sleep and not wake up. Mr. Jafari struck the full beard on his face and said strangely, "I've had enough of nonsense today, I'll just lie down under the sun and soak in alcohol about it" He spun his chair around to leave the room. "Mr., you know that alcohol is bad for your legs, don't you feel sore at the soles of your feet whenever you take it?" Elijah had suddenly spoken, to the awe of the men in the room. "How dare you say nonsense?" Slick Sal cursed and tried to take him to the ground. "Stop!" Mr. Jafari suddenly spun his chair back around, "Don't touch that man" He wheeled the chair closer, examining the composed look on Elijah's face. How can this ordinary-looking man just describe what he always felt deeply? Even his wife didn't know this truth. He knew that alcohol had been bad for his legs but since no one knew about it, there was no reason to stop. "Won't you have to check my legs first to know that?" Mr. Jafari was genuinely curious. Elijah shook his head and said confidently, "I noticed the paleness around your feet and the sudden twitch when you mentioned alcohol. My healing practice is not just about physical diagnosis but observing first" "Don't make noise around the boss, can you heal his sickness or not?" Slick Sal touched the knife by his side and took a step forward in an intimidating manner. Elijah fixated his eyes on the feet of the boss of the underground group and said casually, "Your Boss doesn't need healing, he's only pretending to be crippled" Huh? Everyone was dumbfounded at Elijah's audacity to call the great boss of the underground a con. "Since you have asked to die quickly, I'll give it to you." Slick Sal was the first to unsheath his knife, and the others followed quickly. He wanted this so-called doctor to make a fool of himself before teaching him a lesson, but now that he had insulted the boss, how could they stand and watch? "It's the truth, you don't have to be violent" Elijah rubbed the side of his face casually as though the men around weren't preparing to kill him. "You still have the mouth to talk, I'll take your tongue first" Slick Sal made to grab his face when the authoritative voice of their boss resounded, "Touch him and you're dead, anyone..." "Huh? Boss...?"The men in the room were confused. Had the big boss finally gone soft? Before anyone could even think of asking a question, Mr. Jafari took a step out of his wheelchair and his second foot followed suit. "This young doctor is indeed the greatest in the world" He pulled his entire body up and was now standing proudly in their line of sight. How was this possible? The boss was back on his feet. For the first time in five years.Latest Chapter
Chapter 612
There was a small pause as Serena enjoyed herself, the blood still covering her face. This wasn't Serena. This wasn't his wife. She might be standing in front of him right now, but this wasn't her. Not in the slightest.“I guess it doesn't hurt, else you would cry for me...”She let go of the dagger buried in his heart, and another appeared almost immediately in her grip. She made to stab again, but a voice that sounded like thunder echoed across the mountaintop.“Enough!”Serena paused mid-motion like something mechanical, tilted her head to the side, and pouted like a scolded child.Elijah could feel another presence arriving at the top of the mountain now, one that made his already restricted energy core vibrate violently against his will. His dulled spiritual senses still managed to register the malevolence approaching. The pressure of it pushed down on his body like an actual mountain settling onto his chest.
Chapter 511
Elijah Langston arrived in the deep woods inside the BMW. He brought the car to a stop at the foot of a mountain and alighted quickly.“What are you doing here...?” He looked at the screen of his phone to see the pulsing marker of Serena's location now covering his own, the exact pin sitting atop the mountain rising in front of him.It was a live share, so she hadn't just moved here. This was where she had sent him those videos from.Remembering how much she had panicked when she first called him, he knew he couldn't delay. She must have gotten herself into trouble by getting her hands on that footage. If anything were to happen to her because of him, how would he live with that guilt?Elijah pocketed his device and climbed over a small rock at the base.“I'll be there...” He said it with a determined expression and started climbing from the foot of the mountain. His bare hands found the rock face, and his spiri
Chapter 510
There was a small pause from Serena before she responded. “Where are you right now?” Her voice carried so much urgency that it took him completely by surprise. He looked around, unsure if she was watching him right now. “Listen to me. I don't know how much time I have left. I think I'm being followed, and some people are watching me...” she continued immediately, and he could clearly hear her uneven breathing. She must have been running. “Where are you? What are you talking about? Didn't you leave with everyone else...?” Elijah was now alarmed. Serena said through heavy breaths, “I didn't go. I found something and couldn't tell anyone. I think I might have seen something I'm not meant to see. Julius, I think I'm going to die. They are going to kill me.” “Who?! Where are you?!” Elijah's grip tightened on the device, and his voice was louder than before. “I'll forwar
Chapter 609
The old man gulped, feeling the pressure on his shoulder. He shut his eyes, then opened them and said, “I respect you as the Young Master of the Langstons. Old Master DiLaurentis has also instructed me to give you the same respect I give him and see to your needs in this household if you ever come to me. What do you seek, Young Master Langston?”“Richard.”The old man nodded once and hesitated before starting. “You must understand that we really don’t know about him or where Margaret found him. We know nothing about his family, which is why he took up the DiLaurentis name as a live-in husband.”“Why did Margaret marry him?”He hadn't been in this household for too long, yet with everything he knew about Margaret now, she would never go for someone without a name or influence like Richard. She was an ambitious woman who shamelessly pursued greater heights. The butler told him, “I’m not sure I should say this, Young Master. I might
Chapter 608
Elijah Langston walked out of Richard DiLaurentis’ room with an expression even fiercer than when he went in.Now, without any atom of doubt, he was certain Richard had a part to play in the extermination of his family and had remained hidden ever since. To think he had laid low in the DiLaurentis family as a live-in husband who even took his wife’s family name and had nothing to his own.If he was really Serena’s father, didn’t that mean he had been here for more than two decades, long before the massacre?Did he begin this surveillance after he settled into the DiLaurentis family, or did he settle into the DiLaurentis family as the perfect cover to run his surveillance operation?Having been involved with the border military a few years back, he had knowledge of things like this. Even Tessa Mercer’s intelligence unit used these methods to infiltrate enemy nations and extract information over the years. But starting a family and

Elijah flipped through the album faster, and the more he went, the clearer it became. This was a harmless photo album of a life documented from the beginning, from the wedding to the children being born and growing up. Ordinary family moments were preserved page after page, with nothing suspicious about any of it.He was starting to believe he was wrong until something slipped out while he was rushing to the end of the album. An envelope. He looked down at it and would have ignored it if it hadn't had an address in Alder City on it.This made Elijah quickly pick it up and rip open the seal. He was greeted by fresh pictures scattering out of it and landing all over the floor in front of him.He gasped, his eyes widening, and picked one up, looking closely. It was a picture of him and little Mia.Not just any picture, but one taken when he had gone to Blackwood Estate to save her for the second time.It was quite dark, but he could still make out his own face.Looking around now, he did
