Elijah was brought to a casino with an underground entrance, and soon enough, he was below the main building, making steps down the dark staircase with the terrifying-looking gang members following closely behind him.

When they arrived at the main underground structure, two burly men roughly dragged a man past them.

He was screaming, but they only kicked him to remain quiet.

"Slick Sal, is that you? You returned early today" A deep manly voice came from the inner chambers of the underground.

Only when they got closer did the image of a middle-aged man in a wheelchair appear.

Behind him was a group of men in black carrying heavy firearms.

It was obvious that this man was not ordinary; he was a powerful figure in the Brooklyn Heights underground crime system.

"Boss, I brought you a guest. This man here claims to be the best doctor in the world and has a solution to any sickness at all, including yours." The leader of the group, who went by the name 'Slick Sal,' didn't hesitate to polish the matter in front of his boss.

The person in the wheelchair was known throughout the underground crime system as Jafari D-King, the man who, alongside his retired brothers in arms, had created and funded the Underground system of the country.

Mr. Jafari was the last standing among his brothers in arms and has since become a significant figure that even the police cannot touch.

There was nothing linking him to crimes and even if you managed to find one in the end, you might just sleep and not wake up.

Mr. Jafari struck the full beard on his face and said strangely, "I've had enough of nonsense today, I'll just lie down under the sun and soak in alcohol about it"

He spun his chair around to leave the room.

"Mr., you know that alcohol is bad for your legs, don't you feel sore at the soles of your feet whenever you take it?" Elijah had suddenly spoken, to the awe of the men in the room.

"How dare you say nonsense?" Slick Sal cursed and tried to take him to the ground.

"Stop!" Mr. Jafari suddenly spun his chair back around, "Don't touch that man"

He wheeled the chair closer, examining the composed look on Elijah's face.

How can this ordinary-looking man just describe what he always felt deeply?

Even his wife didn't know this truth.

He knew that alcohol had been bad for his legs but since no one knew about it, there was no reason to stop.

"Won't you have to check my legs first to know that?" Mr. Jafari was genuinely curious.

Elijah shook his head and said confidently, "I noticed the paleness around your feet and the sudden twitch when you mentioned alcohol.

My healing practice is not just about physical diagnosis but observing first"

"Don't make noise around the boss, can you heal his sickness or not?" Slick Sal touched the knife by his side and took a step forward in an intimidating manner.

Elijah fixated his eyes on the feet of the boss of the underground group and said casually, "Your Boss doesn't need healing, he's only pretending to be crippled"

Huh?

Everyone was dumbfounded at Elijah's audacity to call the great boss of the underground a con.

"Since you have asked to die quickly, I'll give it to you." Slick Sal was the first to unsheath his knife, and the others followed quickly.

He wanted this so-called doctor to make a fool of himself before teaching him a lesson, but now that he had insulted the boss, how could they stand and watch?

"It's the truth, you don't have to be violent" Elijah rubbed the side of his face casually as though the men around weren't preparing to kill him.

"You still have the mouth to talk, I'll take your tongue first" Slick Sal made to grab his face when the authoritative voice of their boss resounded,

"Touch him and you're dead, anyone..."

"Huh? Boss...?"The men in the room were confused.

Had the big boss finally gone soft?

Before anyone could even think of asking a question, Mr. Jafari took a step out of his wheelchair and his second foot followed suit.

"This young doctor is indeed the greatest in the world"

He pulled his entire body up and was now standing proudly in their line of sight.

How was this possible?

The boss was back on his feet.

For the first time in five years.

Manager Rufus crawled to the feet of Old Mr. Carrington and cried like a child, "Brother, you have to help me; these brats dare to bully me in the restaurant. They think they're something."The old man looked down at him and responded casually, "Now that I'm here, no one will touch you, Rufus. Anyone who dares to be reckless in my established District N Dine will face the consequences..." He raised his chin high. The five young ladies could not stop staring at one another, confusion and shock mingling in the air. Was this Manager Rufus really the brother of the patriarch of the Carrington family? Some of them had always heard rumors that he was associated with an aristocratic family, but they hadn't thought much about it.The Carringtons weren't just one of the aristocratic families; they were the bedrock and the root of the other aristocratic families that came to be in Brooklyn Heights. The Carrington aristocratic family was older than all of the great families put together and co

Rachael covered her mouth in shock and mumbled, “Obed, are you alright?”There was no response from him.“He will never be alright. With ruptured internal organs, he is as good as dead. Who is next in line?” Master Tate said in a matter-of-fact tone. The other bodyguards were shocked by the outcome, but that didn’t stop Anthony from taking a step forward. “I knew he didn’t have what it takes to be a bodyguard. Don’t be smug—you have unfortunately met me today. I come from the Northern District team of underrated bodyguards and used to be ranked number one. My punch is capable of destroying a punching bag…”“Well then, show me. For you, I’ll give you an opportunity of five moves; after that, I won’t hold back,” Master Tate said gently, as though he were talking to a child. This made Anthony angry. “Five moves? You really know how to talk. Don’t blame me when I break your mouth with one move…”He took a step as light as a feather and attacked faster than one would expect.Aria smirked a

The five young ladies, Rosalie included, looked in Aria's direction and, as expected, nodded in agreement. Who was this weak bodyguard to think he could stand in their way today?Rosalie didn't even spare Elijah a glance and was fully in line with her friends. What if he agreed to be her bodyguard today? Didn't she warn him to keep his mouth shut and not act up? Now he's gotten into trouble and he expects her to take his side? Hmph! Dream on.Her wealthy colleagues mattered more to her than this useless brother-in-law, who was here to cause trouble for her. She would not hesitate to cut him off and stand by while they had him beaten today. Only she knew that Elijah Langston was not a professional bodyguard like the others and would not be able to defend himself."Rosalie, don't you have a problem with this? He's your bodyguard, right?" Fiona asked, keeping her eyes on Rosalie's reaction.Rosalie waved her off dismissively. "Bodyguard? Hmph! In my mind, I've relieved him of his dut

What? The three young women were visibly shocked to hear this and couldn't help but show different expressions on their faces.Rosalie was the first to speak, her body shaking with rage. "What nonsense are you saying? Don't even try to be reckless here today."She couldn't believe that this man would make such an attempt. Was this what he was driving at the other time?Gaining confidence from this, Aria quickly stepped up and said, "What if you are associated with an aristocratic family? Our family might not be aristocrats, but we cannot be bullied. Even Rosalie's family is great enough to own a privilege card.""Hmph!" Manager Rufus snarled. "If I say the card is stolen, then it's stolen. And if I say I don't accept privilege cards in District N Dine, then that's the law. In this place my word is law. If you pay the $500 million right now, I'll let you five leave.""$500 million. What nonsense?" Phoebe almost shouted. The man puffed his chest mischievously and said, "I don't accept

The dining area quieted in an instant, and everyone wore different emotions on their faces: shock, surprise, disbelief, and more. The only one who did not show the slightest change in expression was Elijah Langston. His look remained stoic, but there was a knowing thought in his mind. He didn't expect anything less when the card was swiped. They might not know, but that was a Sovereign Privilege Card, which he obtained as a gift from a powerful world organization for his service to his country some five years ago. He wasn't always on the mountain during the fifteen-year stretch, but pretending to forget the things that happened outside the mountain was better kept that way. This complimentary transaction card automatically reduced all transactions within the country to $0.00 while still marking the payment as successful. Only top military officials are known to have this card due to their lifetime service to the country. Even organizations don't dare complain when such special ca

Rosalie's face turned as white as a sheet of paper and she blinked her large eyes, unsure of what she had just heard."What do you mean?"Fiona raised her chin slightly and said, "Since you're the youngest among us five, we've never allowed you to pay any bill even though your family own a big medical corporation that's worth several billions."This made Rosalie grit her teeth but she managed to keep her expression hidden. She had always kept her DiLaurentis name from her friends and would always tell them how big her family's business was in Brooklyn Heights. The DiLaurentis business could be worth a few billion dollars, but everything was tied up in the running operation.Taking out as little as $1 million might even disrupt operations and leave them bankrupt.Even now that her family had been blacklisted by the Lancasters, they would continue to be at a loss daily until they declared bankruptcy.Where could she ever find a sum as large as $250 million? That's impossible—a big joke.
