Elijah was brought to a casino with an underground entrance, and soon enough, he was below the main building, making steps down the dark staircase with the terrifying-looking gang members following closely behind him.

When they arrived at the main underground structure, two burly men roughly dragged a man past them.

He was screaming, but they only kicked him to remain quiet.

"Slick Sal, is that you? You returned early today" A deep manly voice came from the inner chambers of the underground.

Only when they got closer did the image of a middle-aged man in a wheelchair appear.

Behind him was a group of men in black carrying heavy firearms.

It was obvious that this man was not ordinary; he was a powerful figure in the Brooklyn Heights underground crime system.

"Boss, I brought you a guest. This man here claims to be the best doctor in the world and has a solution to any sickness at all, including yours." The leader of the group, who went by the name 'Slick Sal,' didn't hesitate to polish the matter in front of his boss.

The person in the wheelchair was known throughout the underground crime system as Jafari D-King, the man who, alongside his retired brothers in arms, had created and funded the Underground system of the country.

Mr. Jafari was the last standing among his brothers in arms and has since become a significant figure that even the police cannot touch.

There was nothing linking him to crimes and even if you managed to find one in the end, you might just sleep and not wake up.

Mr. Jafari struck the full beard on his face and said strangely, "I've had enough of nonsense today, I'll just lie down under the sun and soak in alcohol about it"

He spun his chair around to leave the room.

"Mr., you know that alcohol is bad for your legs, don't you feel sore at the soles of your feet whenever you take it?" Elijah had suddenly spoken, to the awe of the men in the room.

"How dare you say nonsense?" Slick Sal cursed and tried to take him to the ground.

"Stop!" Mr. Jafari suddenly spun his chair back around, "Don't touch that man"

He wheeled the chair closer, examining the composed look on Elijah's face.

How can this ordinary-looking man just describe what he always felt deeply?

Even his wife didn't know this truth.

He knew that alcohol had been bad for his legs but since no one knew about it, there was no reason to stop.

"Won't you have to check my legs first to know that?" Mr. Jafari was genuinely curious.

Elijah shook his head and said confidently, "I noticed the paleness around your feet and the sudden twitch when you mentioned alcohol.

My healing practice is not just about physical diagnosis but observing first"

"Don't make noise around the boss, can you heal his sickness or not?" Slick Sal touched the knife by his side and took a step forward in an intimidating manner.

Elijah fixated his eyes on the feet of the boss of the underground group and said casually, "Your Boss doesn't need healing, he's only pretending to be crippled"

Huh?

Everyone was dumbfounded at Elijah's audacity to call the great boss of the underground a con.

"Since you have asked to die quickly, I'll give it to you." Slick Sal was the first to unsheath his knife, and the others followed quickly.

He wanted this so-called doctor to make a fool of himself before teaching him a lesson, but now that he had insulted the boss, how could they stand and watch?

"It's the truth, you don't have to be violent" Elijah rubbed the side of his face casually as though the men around weren't preparing to kill him.

"You still have the mouth to talk, I'll take your tongue first" Slick Sal made to grab his face when the authoritative voice of their boss resounded,

"Touch him and you're dead, anyone..."

"Huh? Boss...?"The men in the room were confused.

Had the big boss finally gone soft?

Before anyone could even think of asking a question, Mr. Jafari took a step out of his wheelchair and his second foot followed suit.

"This young doctor is indeed the greatest in the world"

He pulled his entire body up and was now standing proudly in their line of sight.

How was this possible?

The boss was back on his feet.

For the first time in five years.

Elijah did not answer, nor did he make any immediate movement. He simply stood there, his back to them.Under the dim green emergency light, his figure appeared calm… too calm to be real. The officers couldn’t see his face, only a silent silhouette standing in the middle of the wrecked room with his back turned to them.Officer Sophia gritted her teeth. “I’ll say it one more time,” she warned loudly. “Step away from her and kneel with your hands on your head.”Still, Elijah Langston remained motionless, as if he had not heard her at all.A faint tension spread through the team of officers, causing them to tighten their grips on their rifles. All they needed right now was the order to take this person down.“You!” Sophia raised her voice. “Kneel—!”Before she could finish, Elijah Langston flicked his sleeves back without warning. The movement was clean, sharp, and so fast that some officers didn’t even see

Andrew clenched his fist and took a step back instinctively. He didn't think the intruder could survive such electricity, or even kill the two capable men he had with him."You! Don't you dare think you can do whatever you want here. You may have killed people today, but let me tell you: I'm associated with the great Ainsworth family and I'm the right-hand man of Madam Ainsworth. If anything happens to me today, you'll have only yourself to blame."Now that it had come to this, how could he not use the name of his employer against this strong person? The Ainsworths were well respected and feared in Brooklyn Heights."All the more reason to kill you today," Elijah said coldly, his eyes flickering. He had been planning to pay the Ainsworths a visit soon enough, but perhaps sending them a message first was best."You!" Andrew's face distorted.Officer Mark smirked as he rolled his shoulders, letting the twin blades slide freely. "Don't be scared of his nonsense, Andrew. As long as I'

Elijah Langston's steps were unhurried as he moved closer and looked at those who were left."Are those who electrocuted her dead yet?" His voice wasn't loud, but it was enough to put immense pressure in the room. The foam around her lips from convulsions and the burn marks on parts of her skin were evidence that electricity had been used on her. How could they have the heart to do this? The two burly men looked at each other and back to Elijah before slowly revealing the highly charged stun rod they had. What better answer did Elijah Langston need? The two men charged the rod to its maximum with electricity that could stop someone's heart on the spot if touched. One took a step and snorted coldly. "What if we are responsible? What are you going to do today?"The other stepped forward with a sly smirk that almost reached his ears. "I enjoyed putting electricity into her body and hearing her scream just now. Do you want to get a feel of electricity?" He brandished the stun rod, an e

Deal with him!”The burly guards in the room couldn't see properly, but they all had a mental image of where Elijah Langston was standing.Together, they rushed as one and attacked with the strength of their fists. Each man had been well trained for several years and could easily take on a frail-looming man, right? To their shock, Elijah Langston's figure blurred forward, and what followed was the sound of bones breaking.Bam!They were struck directly in the chest by something that didn't feel like a fist but like a runaway train. The burly men coughed blood and were sent flying in different directions with broken ribs. By the time their bodies hit the ground, they were all dead on the floor, their internal organs ruptured beyond repair. What sort of force was this?At that moment the b

The call with Andrew was taken off hold."Madam, are you still there?"Grace sighed deeply before explaining the matter to Andrew, then she added, "...patch her up and send her to the hospital. We'll find a story to cover up everything that follows. She won't dare talk to anyone about it.""Understood, Madam."Andrew hung up and hurried forward to announce, "Turns out she was telling the truth. I knew something was off from the start.""What are you talking about?" Officer Mark asked, sharpening his blade, "I was just preparing to continue..."Without hesitation, Andrew explained to Officer Mark what Grace Ainsworth had told him. Her muscles convulsed violently, and she gasped, coming back to consciousness. The men immediately stepped back, letting her collapse to the floor. She lay there, weak and trembling, utterly unable to speak or lift a finger. From a distance, anyone who glanced at her might have mistaken her for dead.Officer Mark’s voice was low but audible, directed toward Andrew. “This isn’t stubbornness anymore.
