Margaret’s jaw tightened. “Impossible,” she breathed.
Dr. Selwyn’s face went pale. “That… that’s… how could you…?” Cain’s voice was calm, almost casual. “Observation. Understanding. Knowing where to look." He continued. "The hands are obviously slummed, the neck is swollen and the eyes are reddish showing a failed filtration system!" Anger flashed through the doctor's eyes. And Aria lets out a sigh of relief. She wasn't wrong about the young man. Margaret’s hands shook slightly. “This isn’t real… he… he could be guessing…” "He definitely guessed the answer, there's no other way in this life that he could have gotten it right" Cain didn’t answer. He simply handed the photograph back. Every eye in the room followed him, tension crackling like electricity. Margaret drew close to Cain, the vines on her neck firmly popped. "Tell me right this instant, where did you get the answers from!" "That wasn't part of the test!" Cain responded, shaking her off easily and calmly. Dr. Selwyn regained his instantly composure and glared. "So what if you passed the test?" Dr. Selwyn leaned forward, dark eyes sharp. “Even if you guessed right, it’s irrelevant. This is not the patient in question. You cannot treat the elderly based on an image!” Aria Hart, her expression calm but eyes intense, cut through the tension. “He passed the test. Let him proceed. No arguments Margaret’s hand shot out. “No! I will not allow—” Aria’s gaze, cold and unwavering, silenced her instantly. "As I said earlier, no argument. What do you think the outside world would see us as if we can't even keep our word?" Margaret was quickly sent choking in her words and her eyes filled with disdain while the crowd murdered still not convinced. Cain nodded once, expression unreadable. He moved toward Ezekiel Hart’s side, silver needles already in his hands. Every step was deliberate, measured. Servants and advisors exchanged anxious glances. Dr. Selwyn muttered under his breath, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips, convinced the man would fail spectacularly. Cain placed each of the needles into Mr. Hart's pressure points, each step harder than the next, he was sweating but nothing was happening, the old man remained almost lifeless on the bed. “You’ll see,” Margaret hissed, stepping closer, “this will end badly. He doesn’t know what he’s doing.” Cain crouched near Ezekiel, methodically preparing the treatment. Every motion was precise, deliberate, almost hypnotic in its calm efficiency. Aria watched silently, intrigue sparking in her dark eyes. Liora, leaning against the wall, folded her arms, expression unreadable but clearly attentive. For a few tense moments, nothing happened. The room held its collective breath. Then it came. Ezekiel coughed. A small, wet sound. Then another. His face contorted violently. Blood poured from his mouth, dark and fast. He gasped, eyes widening in terror. His skin turned pale gray, then mottled black and purple. The patriarch collapsed, lifeless. Silence fell like a hammer. Margaret screamed, rushing forward. “You—You killed him! Cain! You cursed my father!” Her hands gripped Cain’s neck, shaking him with fury. “You’ll pay for this!” Dr. Selwyn froze for a moment, then let out a quiet, contemptuous snicker, as if the chaos before him were some darkly amusing lesson. Aria’s eyes were wide, shock flashing across her composed face. She took a cautious step forward, unable to hide the disbelief in her voice. “Impossible…” she whispered. The room erupted in chaos—servants screaming, advisors stammering, Margaret still clutching Cain’s collar, Dr. Selwyn smirking like a professor observing a failed experiment, and Aria standing frozen, trying to reconcile what she had just witnessed. "You killed my father." She yelled once again, this time a strand of tear escaping from her eyes.Latest Chapter

CHAPTER EIGHTY-NINECain nodded in satisfaction, and a snicker left his mouth while he glanced at Malcolm who almost shed tears.“I thought the bank belonged to him!”“Yes! That’s what he told us!” Malcolm’s friends whispered amongst themselves, their eyes looked at him with so much shock.“This is such wonderful news, Michael! Who would have thought that the bank belonged to us?” Cain chuckled softly, giving Michael more reasons to ask the questions that harbored his curiosity.“What has he done, Lord Cain? Has he offended you?” The Butler looked at Malcolm who gestured to him to plead on his behalf.“He has, Michael. His son insulted my friend and me earlier today, and tonight again, I encountered him.”“I am so sorry, Lord Cain! My son was very foolish for whatever he did to you at the store! He is going to apologize right away!” Malcolm stood up fr

CHAPTER EIGHTY-EIGHTBrian’s shirt got stained with some of the blood that trickled down his face, but he failed to take cognizance of it because of his rage. With a strong determination to get back at Cain, he rushed at him again and grabbed his two legs, attempting to push him down.“What are you doing?” Cain scoffed, looking down at Brian who strained and grained futilely without being able to achieve anything.“Get off me.” Cain got tired of watching Brian waste his time. He sighed softly and grabbed him on his shoulders before pushing him to the ground effortlessly. He watched him stagger before he landed with his butt again, but that still wasn’t enough to deter him.“I can see that you are not tired, Brian.”“I am not leaving without a fight! I will make sure that I get you before I back down!”“Even when the odds are against you? Cain scoffed, looking at Brian with a little surprise in his eyes.“You have stood in my way twice since today, you will pay! Come on, show me what y

CHAPTER EIGHTY-SEVENCain looked at the man for a while, and following the thoughts that crept into his mind, he chuckled softly, shaking his head at once.“I still think we should leave this place, Cain. I am sure we can find somewhere else to sit.” Noah said calmly, looking around in search of another place they could sit. He sighted an empty chair at the other end of the hall, and he sighed before returning his gaze to Cain.“Over there, Cain! I see an empty seat. We should go there right now, I can let you sit, I don’t mind standing.” Noah hoped that Cain was going to agree to what he said, but his mind was already made up, and he refused to budge.“Why don’t you listen to your friend, boy! Leave that place, and find somewhere else to sit!”“No! That’s not gonna happen! If you want me to leave, then you are going to have to make me!” Cain’s eyes glared at the man, sending cold shivers down his spine and those of his friends. They were dumbfounded and looked at each other with thei

CHAPTER EIGHTY-SIXThroughout the day, Noah couldn’t stop thinking about the events of the day. Even when they drove from the vicinity of the store back to the Castle, he couldn't stop staring at Cain who didn’t even seem like he had spent so much money on a store. When it was finally time for the party, Noah put on the suit he picked from the store, and a pair of brown shoes also picked from the store.“These look nice on you, Noah,” Cain said while Noah had to walk to the mirror to look at his reflection.“Wow! I can’t believe that this is me.” Noah gasped the moment he saw his reflection in the mirror. He had never dressed in such expensive attire, and he couldn't stop staring.“Come on, Noah. We are going to be late for the party.” Cain said calmly after adjusting his blue-striped tie with both hands. He was clad in a fancy black suit just like Noah, but their designs were entirely di

CHAPTER EIGHTY-FIVEThe air in the room thickened with a lot of tension, and while Caroline was still trying to get a grip on herself, Noah nudged Cain in an attempt to get his attention, but he refused to look at him while he kept his eyes on Brian who was still fuming with so much anger inside him.“I really think we should leave this place, Cain. This is getting out of hand.” Noah whispered to Cain with a nervous tone, but he stood his ground.“Didn’t you hear me? I asked you to call your Manager! Do it now!”“Please, Mr. Pager! You don’t need to do this, we can settle it amicably.” Caroline pleaded, but her plea fell on deaf ears. She looked at Cain almost immediately, giving him gestures to leave, but he refused to listen to her.“If you do not call your Manager right now, I am going to write a bad review about this place, and I will make sure you lose your job! I swear!”“No, please! You don’t have to do that, Mr. Pager! I will call him, I will call him!”“Yes! Go on! Tell him I

CHAPTER EIGHTY-FOURCain took in a deep breath which he let out slowly in an attempt to get a grip on himself. The demeanor of the saleslady pissed him off greatly, and he tried as much as he could to stop himself from reacting. He looked at Noah, but he seemed to be unbothered about all of that while he occupied his eyes with admiring the suits in front of them.“These are really nice, Cain! I have never worn a suit before, this is going to be my first time. I am super excited!”“Yeah, I guess.” Cain managed to smile at Noah while he struggled with his anger. He looked toward the direction the saleslady had gone and saw that she was speaking to some other people with an excited smile on her face. From the look of things, they appeared rich, and she placed much value on them because of their appearance.“Who are those people?” Noah said when he realized that Cain had been staring at them with a smirk on his face.“Why would she keep us standing for so long? That’s unprofessional!” Noa
