Margaret’s jaw tightened. “Impossible,” she breathed.

Dr. Selwyn’s face went pale. “That… that’s… how could you…?”

Cain’s voice was calm, almost casual. “Observation. Understanding. Knowing where to look."

He continued. "The hands are obviously slummed, the neck is swollen and the eyes are reddish showing a failed filtration system!"

Anger flashed through the doctor's eyes. And Aria lets out a sigh of relief. She wasn't wrong about the young man.

Margaret’s hands shook slightly. “This isn’t real… he… he could be guessing…”

"He definitely guessed the answer, there's no other way in this life that he could have gotten it right"

Cain didn’t answer. He simply handed the photograph back. Every eye in the room followed him, tension crackling like electricity.

Margaret drew close to Cain, the vines on her neck firmly popped.

"Tell me right this instant, where did you get the answers from!"

"That wasn't part of the test!" Cain responded, shaking her off easily and calmly.

Dr. Selwyn regained his instantly composure and glared.

"So what if you passed the test?"

Dr. Selwyn leaned forward, dark eyes sharp. “Even if you guessed right, it’s irrelevant. This is not the patient in question. You cannot treat the elderly based on an image!”

Aria Hart, her expression calm but eyes intense, cut through the tension. “He passed the test. Let him proceed. No arguments

Margaret’s hand shot out. “No! I will not allow—”

Aria’s gaze, cold and unwavering, silenced her instantly. "As I said earlier, no argument.

What do you think the outside world would see us as if we can't even keep our word?" Margaret was quickly sent choking in her words and her eyes filled with disdain while the crowd murdered still not convinced.

Cain nodded once, expression unreadable. He moved toward Ezekiel Hart’s side, silver needles already in his hands.

Every step was deliberate, measured. Servants and advisors exchanged anxious glances. Dr. Selwyn muttered under his breath, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips, convinced the man would fail spectacularly.

Cain placed each of the needles into Mr. Hart's pressure points, each step harder than the next, he was sweating but nothing was happening, the old man remained almost lifeless on the bed.

“You’ll see,” Margaret hissed, stepping closer, “this will end badly. He doesn’t know what he’s doing.”

Cain crouched near Ezekiel, methodically preparing the treatment. Every motion was precise, deliberate, almost hypnotic in its calm efficiency. Aria watched silently, intrigue sparking in her dark eyes. Liora, leaning against the wall, folded her arms, expression unreadable but clearly attentive.

For a few tense moments, nothing happened. The room held its collective breath. Then it came.

Ezekiel coughed. A small, wet sound. Then another. His face contorted violently. Blood poured from his mouth, dark and fast. He gasped, eyes widening in terror. His skin turned pale gray, then mottled black and purple.

The patriarch collapsed, lifeless. Silence fell like a hammer.

Margaret screamed, rushing forward. “You—You killed him! Cain! You cursed my father!” Her hands gripped Cain’s neck, shaking him with fury. “You’ll pay for this!”

Dr. Selwyn froze for a moment, then let out a quiet, contemptuous snicker, as if the chaos before him were some darkly amusing lesson.

Aria’s eyes were wide, shock flashing across her composed face. She took a cautious step forward, unable to hide the disbelief in her voice. “Impossible…” she whispered.

The room erupted in chaos—servants screaming, advisors stammering, Margaret still clutching Cain’s collar, Dr. Selwyn smirking like a professor observing a failed experiment, and Aria standing frozen, trying to reconcile what she had just witnessed.

"You killed my father." She yelled once again, this time a strand of tear escaping from her eyes.

The arena was silent, taut with anticipation. Cain and Kane stood opposite each other, the tension between them sharp enough to cut through the air. Kane’s chest swelled with arrogance, a smirk painted across his face. “So this is the infamous Cain,” he sneered. “Come to embarrass yourself in front of everyone again?” Cain’s eyes remained dark, unreadable. Calm. Almost bored. He said nothing, letting the words hang like smoke in the air. Aira watched silently, her posture impeccable, her eyes studying Cain’s every move. No words. Just attention, sharp and discerning, radiating authority. Kane advanced first. His movements were aggressive, precise, honed from years of training in underground rings and boardroom brawls. “Let’s see if the live-in son-in-law is as worthless as everyone claims!” he taunted. His voice rang with overconfidence, echoing across the polished arena. Cain shifted his weight, fluid, effortless, like water flowing around a rock. “You’ve trained hard,” he said

The room was dead silent. Every pair of eyes locked on Cain and Aira. The whispers had stopped mid-air, replaced by stunned gasps. No one had expected the heiress; the untouchable, commanding Aira Hart; to call anyone “babe.” Not him. Not Cain. Kane’s chest puffed, as if trying to hold onto the dignity that had just slipped through his fingers. “She must be mistaken,” he said, his voice sharp but uncertain. Aira’s gaze didn’t waver. Firm, piercing, and unwavering. “I’m not mistaken,” she said, letting her words slice through the tension. “ The crowd froze. The richest, most admired heiress of the city had just confirmed it. And in public, no less. Kane’s smirk faltered. His mind raced. She must have made a mistake, he repeated silently, desperately clinging to his pride. But it wasn’t a mistake. Sia’s eyes burned with jealousy. Her fingers clenched, nails digging into her palms. “Barely a day,” she spat, venom dripping from each word. “Barely a day, and he’s already… with som

The crowd’s laughter hit Cain like a physical blow. Faces twisted with malice, eyes gleaming with ridicule. “Look at him! The infamous Jon family son-in-law! A stalker! A nobody!” someone sneered, pointing a finger like a dagger. “Did he really think he belongs here?” another voice shouted, echoing across the hall. “Pathetic. Just a dog sniffing at wealth he’ll never touch!” Cain’s jaw remained tight. Eyes scanning, calm, unshaken, as the mocking continued. Mrs. Jon’s voice cut through the chaos, sharp and scalding. “You think you’re anything? My daughter would never even glance at the likes of you. A horny dog, groveling for scraps!” The words were meant to wound, to break him, yet Cain’s lips curved faintly—not with fear, but with the faintest amusement. "I'm sure he's broke and has nothing to feed on that's why he came around to beg!" Kane stepped forward. "And as a privileged person, I'm always honoured to help the poor." With that, he pulled out a few thick bundles of cas

Whispers had died into shocked silence, but the tension crackled like live wires. Kane leaned against the edge of the room dark eyes scanning the faces before him. Arrogance curled at his lips. “Of course, there’s no way I could have obtained this legitimately,” he said, voice low, almost a challenge. “It must have been stolen.” Immediately, the room erupted with agreement. “Exactly!” "Even if had sold all his internal organs, he still would not be able to afford such!" someone shouted. “Even after being separated from the family, he still wants to drag our name through the mud!” Lady Jin hissed angrily. “The fool. Now I think we should have ended his life after divorcing him, he would always remain a stain to this family!” another hissed. A broad smile slit through Kane's lips subtly. Doctor Rhode rode down, each step echoing with what seemed like a mixture of respect and curiosity for such a young man with powerful medical skill. “It's late, how about you hop into my car for a ride? I would be more than glad to take you anywhere in the city." He motioned with a calculating voice. Cain twitched slightly. "Thank you. But I would prefer to clear my head with a walk!" Cain turned down the request politely. Rhodes’ brow arched. Surprise flickered across his features. It wasn't normal for anyone to turn down the offer from one of the most powerful medical prodigies in the country. But he didn't push further, quickly masked by his usual composure. The doctor straightened, curiosity sharpening. "Alright if you say so!" He produced a small envelope, sleek and official-looking. “But at least take this. It's a ticket to the Wor
