Chapter 2 - A New System

When Daniel opened his eyes, he looked around and felt familiar with his surroundings. It was a hospital room. But who had brought him here? Before his curiosity faded, a hologram panel appeared in front of him.

Daniel turned and looked at the source of the voice. A girl covered her face with both hands. She was wearing a pink t-shirt that fit her body well enough to show off her slim and charming figure. Also, the shorts above her knees made her look very cute.

Daniel quickly pulled on his shirt. "Okay, I'm done."

When the girl lowered both hands, a red hue was imprinted on her pretty face. "Hi Daniel, my name is Clara Insignia," the girl said as she extended her hand to Daniel.

Clara Insignia?

Upon hearing this name, Daniel's mind suddenly remembered something. Of course, Daniel had heard about the owner of that name. Although they had never met, rumor had it that Clara was the most beautiful and intelligent girl at Tectona University. She was the idol of all students. Men worshipped her and girls stared at her with envy.

"I heard from the doctor that you have recovered. I came to bring you this," Clara said, handing him a brown envelope with the logo of Tectona University.

Before Daniel could open it, Clara spoke again. "Daniel, you are one of the best students of the Tectona University. If there are any problems concerning the academy, you can tell me." The girl's face looked sincere and genuine when she said it.

"Thank you, Miss Insignia."

After Clara had left, Daniel opened the letter. It contained a notice that his scholarship had been terminated. The letter also stated that Daniel had to meet with the Vice Chancellor to give an explanation.

"I knew it. I would end up getting a letter like this."

But Daniel was a young man with morals. Such a letter certainly made him feel sad and very regretful. He then recalled what had happened in the last six months.

At that time, Eleanor's attitude began to change slightly. She was often seen to be very stressed. She even asked to meet Daniel, especially during class hours.

Daniel didn't ask what had happened. He thought it had to do with her academic affairs. Although Eleanor was not a dumb girl, the curriculum and the courses at Tectona University were very demanding. Daniel left the class to accompany Eleanor and help her understand her lessons. Although the action was wrong, Daniel's intentions were at least understandable. If he had been honest, Eleanor would have surely received extra classes so that she wouldn't have to disturb Daniel's activities.

"What happened to you, Ellie?" Just as Daniel was trying to understand the girl's true desires, a realization suddenly appeared in his mind.

Daniel then took out his phone to call Eleanor, but there was no registered owner for that number. When Daniel opened his social media, Eleanor's account had even disappeared.

Daniel switched to look at Eleanor's messages. All the messages that Eleanor had sent to meet him in the field were still stored on his phone. These messages had been sent eight days ago. That meant Daniel had been in the hospital for more than a week.

Daniel thought about Aurora's words and suddenly something occurred to him. What if Aurora could turn back time so that Daniel had not yet met Eleanor? If so, what would be her fate now? And who had helped Daniel and brought him to the hospital?

Daniel immediately straightened his clothes to meet the doctor who had treated him earlier. He had to ask the doctor who had helped him.

As Daniel left the room, the doctor happened to walk up to him. "Doctor, I'm curious, did you see who brought me here?"

"Did Miss Insignia tell you nothing?" The doctor asked instead, with a puzzled expression on her face.

"No." Daniel shook his head.

"A week ago, when you were taken to the hospital, I only saw Miss Insignia in this room. She even came to visit you in the days that followed."

"Really?" Daniel was even more surprised. Why was this girl so concerned about him? Still, Daniel had to thank her.

"Thank you, Doctor. I wouldn't have known if you hadn't told me."

As Daniel was about to leave, the doctor said again, "My name is Cindy. Next time you come here, remember to call me by that name!"

"Okay!" Daniel looked back for a moment and then left. In his heart, of course, he didn't hope to come back to this place to be treated again, unless it was for another purpose.

Daniel will go to the vice president's office. He will explain his actions and apologize. After that, he will try to meet Clara and find out what happened before he was taken to the hospital.
