Kevin put a blue suit on and combed his hair. He seemed a bit sad that he was alone in the mirror.
He wished that his wife was standing right next to him.
Exhaling audibly, Kevin came out of his room and saw that all of his wife’s family members were sitting at the dining table, gobbling up the breakfast menu.
He was about to take the seat next to his beautiful blonde wife, Cecilia, but a sudden loud noise nearly cracked his eardrums.
“KEVIN! Why is there a damn cockroach in my bathroom?” Brielle, his mother-in-law, who had the biggest mouth in the world, yelled ever so casually.
“How would I know, Aunt?” he replied, sitting down and showering a smile at his wife. Her ocean-blue eyes made him want to keep looking at her.
“Don’t call me Aunt, and don’t smile at my daughter!” Brielle growled. “Don’t forget the deal we made. Until you fulfill your end of the deal by bringing profits to that company you’re entrusted with, you can’t have Cecilia. Now, if I find the cockroach later in my bathroom, I’m going to give you negative points.”
Kevin frowned.
Every negative point meant that he’d be burned with more menial tasks.
“I will be right back,” Kevin got up and went upstairs to clean the bathroom which he had already cleaned just the previous night.
“Mom,” Cecilia looked at her mother who had a long face. “You gave Kevin the worst company we owned. And how do you expect him to bring profits when you don’t give him any support?”
“Hmph, if it wasn’t for the stupid promise your grandparents made, I would have never agreed to your marriage with that loser!” Brielle barked.
“He’s not a loser, Mom,” Cecilia replied politely. “His father was the one who lost all the money and didn’t even let his son have the inheritance."
“He left his son to us and ran away to some third-world country. If he dares show himself before me, I’ll shove his face in the toilet for good!” Brielle looked at her only daughter. “I think it’s time you move on. Divorce Kevin and marry someone suitable for your range and class.”
Cecilia pursed her lips together, clearly not happy with what her mother was suggesting.
“You should listen to Mom,” Cecilia’s brothers voiced their opinions. “She knows the best.”
Kevin’s father was a multi-millionaire, but because of his partners betraying him, he lost all of his wealth and incurred debt. But this happened exactly on the day of the marriage.
Kevin’s father ran away, and the money lenders came to Kevin.
Brielle and others told him to not give them any money, but Kevin told Brielle, “I will work hard and earn more money.”
Kevin ended up giving away the 43 million dollars he received as inheritance.
In doing so, Kevin earned a good name in the city circle, which stopped his father from getting an international bounty put on his head in the underworld, but it had the exact opposite effect on O’Brian’s family.
Other than Cecilia, everyone else hated him for his decision of giving away all of his money for the mistakes his father made.
Brielle, on that wedding night, told Kevin that he and Cecilia should live in separate rooms until Kevin proved himself by earning more than 43 million dollars.
However, Brielle made him the CEO of a toilet product manufacturing company, Serenity, which was a subsidiary of O’Brian Group.
The revenue of Serenity when Kevin took over was just above 500,000 dollars. It was at its lowest.
After a year and half, it increased to one million, but it’s still very far from the 43 million mark. With nobody in O’Brian family allowed to support Kevin, it might be impossible to reach that mark unless a miracle were to happen.
Meanwhile, Kevin was in the bathroom attached to Brielle’s bedroom. He closed the windows and everything and sat there, waiting for the cockroach to come out, assuming there was one.
Kevin looked upset, but then his mobile rang.
It was a message from Cecilia. She sent him an emoji of a flying kiss.
Kevin exhaled and smiled. She was the only one in the O’Brian family who secretly supported him.
He opened her profile and kissed her photo.
Just then, a cockroach flew over and landed on his nose. “AHH!” He ended up tossing the mobile into the air.
It flew and fell into the toilet bowl.
“Shit!” Kevin immediately put his hand into the bowl without hesitation and grabbed the mobile.
BBZZZZ~~!!
A strong surge of electricity coursed through his body. He got jolted backward. The mobile was in his hand, discharging visible electric charge.
A message briefly displayed on the screen, ‘Showman System: Shit Model Activated…’ before the screen went blank.

“W-What have you done?” Orland couldn’t believe what he heard. “I knew you were crazy, but how could you do such a thing?”“She’s already lived long enough,” Jack replied casually. “Whether she’s alive or not, it doesn’t really matter to anyone.”Orland gritted his teeth. “She never harmed anyone. How could you…”“Don’t cry. Her death was swift. She didn’t even realize that she died,” Jack said. “She’s Cecilia’s grandmother, so of course, I wouldn’t give her a painful death.”“You psychotic bastard…” Orland got furious and wanted to throw his fists at Jack, but he was not confident in dealing with Jack. And Orland also had a family to protect. He couldn’t recklessly attack Jack even after hearing from Jack’s own mouth that he killed Venessa.Jack, however, very much enjoyed seeing Orland in pain.“Do you think your son-in-law will come to see your mother for one last time?” Jack curiously asked. “I set the stage for him. All he needs to do is not betray my expectations.”Orland’s expr

Debby screamed in horror. It was just a tiny piece of glass, but it had enough force behind it to puncture her left eye.The O’Brian brothers and their wives were quite stunned by the sudden injury Debby had suffered.Even Jack Shamus himself looked surprised. He didn’t intend to hurt her like that, but he secretly liked what had happened.“Oh, no,” Jack fated pity. “Take her to the hospital now!”He hurried the guards and had them take Debby away.Debby’s father was extremely furious at Jake. “If she loses her eye, you will lose one of your eyes as well and more!”“I didn’t do it on purpose,” Jack shouted. “Don’t you see the blood dripping from my hands?” He showed his palm which had multiple glass pieces stuck in it, and a lot of blood trickled down his hand. “It was an accident. A total accident.”“Yeah. You will die in an accident, too!” Debby’s father swore and then left the mansion with his people.Jack sat down in a chair and removed the glass pieces one by one.It was painful
CHAPTER 240
Hours passed.Guests from all over the country came to see Venessa’s face for one last time. Some of the noble families from the foreign countries also came in a private flight. Most of these people had shared some kind of past with her, and they were all business personnel. They told Brielle, Orland, Cecilia and other members of O’Brian family how great and well-loved Venessa was.“Your grandmother was very active in the past.”“Yes, she was like a lioness when your grandfather was alive. Together, they were fearless and unstoppable.”“They were both so loved by the public that even the politicians wouldn’t mess with them.”“It’s really surprising that the O’Brian family’s net worth hasn’t crossed a trillion dollars by now.”“Your grandmother left the business world after your grandfather died. Otherwise, your family would have risen much more.”Their words were comforting and uplifting to Cecilia and Orland, but Dabby and Rory and their wives were not eager to hear stories of Veness
CHAPTER 239
A car stopped at the foyer of the O’Brian mansion.Cecilia got out of the car and rushed into the building. Her parents, brothers, and sister-in-laws were all in the hall. She ignored them and went straight to her grandmother’s room.Venessa was still on the bed, eyes closed and unmoving.Cecilia went to the bed and lifted up Venessa’s hand. It was stone cold. There was no need to even check the pulse.Venessa was gone.Cecilia tightly held her grandmother’s hand and touched it with her forehead. Her stomach felt sour, for she was not able to do many things which her grandmother had wanted her to do.“I’m sorry, Grandma…”Tears streamed down her cheeks and soaked Venessa’s hand.Brielle stood by the door and quietly watched.Meanwhile, in the hall on the ground floor.Naomi just finished a phone call and looked at her husband and whispered, “It seems your grandmother had written a will yesterday… after we left.”Dabby frowned for a second. “So what? CHAPTER 238
The four bodyguards rushed forth with full confidence. They threw their fists left and right, but none of their attacks touched even the tips of Kevin’s clothes. He moved his feet to the left and right, and it looked like he was simply dancing.“What the hell are you bastards doing?!” Adam shouted. “Instead of attacking him from the front, surround him and then attack him.”The bodyguards immediately changed their tactics. They moved back and surrounded Kevin on four directions. The one in the front first threw his fist.Kevin used his chest as a trampoline to bounce the opponent’s fist off of him and deflected it to the opponent on his right.Kevin turned to face the guy on his left, who went for a swift hook punch.Kevin moved his head back and pushed the elbow of the opponent so that he ended up striking the fourth guy in the mouth.Kevin then slapped the guy standing before him, knocking him out cold. There was still one guy remaining. The first guy who had attacked Kevin. He shou

The mobile dropped.Cecilia staggered.Kevin put his hand around her shoulders and supported her. Because of his enhanced senses, he had already heard what her father Orland had told her over the phone. He didn’t mean to eavesdrop on their conversation, but it happened unintentionally.“M-My grandma…” Cecilia’s voice didn’t come out clearly. “Dad said she… died. I talked with her just last night. She was fine. How can she pass away so suddenly?”Kevin’s lips pressed together. He didn’t have any particularly good memories of Venessa, but he knew that Cecilia liked her grandmother a lot.Cecilia quickly walked out.Kevin picked up her mobile and bag and rushed out.He caught up with her in the basement and gave her the items. She looked up at him. “Are you going to come and see her?”“I will. Later,” he told her.She nodded and drove away fast.“Go slow,” Kevin shouted. After the car left his sight, Kevin exhaled audibly. “Venessa O’Brian… I wanted to impress her for a long time by impr
