The words spoken by them were, of course, a huge shock to Brian. All his dreams of establishing a relationship with the Petter family were completely shattered.

Brian shook his head. He didn’t want to accept the reality. His hopes were too high to believe something that, to him, felt so painful.

His gaze shifted back and forth between Claire and Carlos. In fact, compared to Calvin, Brian believed Carlos was far more deserving to be with his daughter. Claire was a beautiful, well-educated woman, and he couldn’t bear the thought of her falling into Calvin’s hands.
