"You heard me right. I can't continue to act like you're the right man for me. I can't continue to pretend to love a man who has nothing good going for himself.

Dave here is a rich and highly connected manager at the Golden Dragon Group. He gets paid millions annually and has the capability to take good care of me and give me the good life I deserve.

Whereas you? You're nothing but a loser. You can't even buy me the latest brand of luxurious handbags, or shoes, or clothes. You can't even afford to buy me jewelry... Talk more of a lavish dinner in a luxurious hotel.

What am I even talking about? You can't even keep your job. How do you intend to take care of me? What about when we start having babies? Can you even afford a baby's diaper?

It is obvious Nolan. I am divorcing you for Dave.

Dave here has been the one secretly funding the growth of my company without asking for anything in return. He has been the one who made me into the woman I am today. It is my turn to repay him for his kindness and generosity.

If you truly love me as you claim to do, then sign the divorce papers and leave my life forever." Megan suddenly said.

“Hehehe, she's right, young man. Megan here is too beautiful to be left alone to suffer with someone like you. She deserves the best things in life and I can give her those things. Just as I've always been doing in the past.” Dave said with a snicker.

"He's behind your company's secret funding? And you're saying that you want to repay his kindness by marrying him? Today's our goddamn anniversary for christ sake, and here you are fucking another man. Damn you liar!! Even a dumb person would know that this man is a jerk. That's what he is... a scam." Nolan shouted, his sclera turned red out of burning rage.

"What did you just call me, loser?" Dave barked, his chest puffed out angrily.

“And what are you gonna do about that?” Nolan asked staring daggers at Dave.

"You wanna know something, huh? This isn't actually the first time I've fucked your wife. I have been fucking her for the past six months now. That's the reason why she doesn't want anything to do with you. Why is your face like that? Are you pissed? Guess what. I've decided to fuck her in front of you, today." Dave grinned devilishly, his aim is to further provoke Nolan.

"You love it right, don't you, Megan? You love getting fucked in front of this good-for-nothing husband of yours, don't you?" Dave grabbed Megan's chin and drew her closer to himself. He implanted a wet kiss into her lips. Their tongues, clashing right in front of Nolan. His fingers, harassing her body, and gradually slipped into her panties.

“Yes, I love it. I love when you bang me in front of my good-for-nothing husband.” Megan suddenly moaned softly.

"You bastard!" Nolan lunged forward and bashed his fist on Dave's face.

“Hahaha.”

Dave fell to the floor, blood streaming down his face. His nose, broken.

"Ahh... Fuck, you broke my nose you son of a bitch." Dave screamed out in pain.

Megan glared at Nolan with a death stare.

"You better leave here this minute or else I will call the police!" Megan shouted.

"You're not half the man that Dave is. You reek of poverty. People of my class shouldn't be seen with the likes of people like you. We're two different people from two different worlds. We can never be compatible. And you can never be my type. Not even in your dreams. Wake up Nolan. Try developing yourself first before you think of marriage next time. Leave. Leave this instance!" Megan shouted.

Nolan didn't spare her a glance as he walked out of the office. His head bent to the ground. Immediately, he hailed a taxi and left the Skyhall Advertising Company's building.

Nolan couldn't believe his eyes. So Megan had been cheating on him all this while. The truth left him heartbroken and saddened, angry and disappointed.

She even had to cheat on him on their anniversary day.

He was finally going to reveal his secrets to her, only for this to happen. Why? Why did it have to be him?

Nolan knew Megan was materialistic. He knew how she loved shiny things, but he didn't care. He loved her like that.

But he'd never anticipated that she would go this far to cheat on him with some other guy. Nolan had made sure to secretly provide Megan with everything she wanted so that she’d never lack. He funded her company, sent her expensive gifts and shiny things, even provided her with countless career opportunities.

Who would have thought that Dave would take credits for something he did in the secret.

'That bastard.' Nolan cursed inwardly.

Back at Megan's office, Nolan wanted to tell her that he was the real mastermind behind the secret funding. But he figured that it was already too late. Even though he came clean to her and revealed everything about himself, what difference would it make?

The reality of all this, was that Megan cheated on Nolan, and Nolan couldn't forgive her for it.

Nolan clenched his fist tightly, his knuckles turned white.

"You want a divorce? Fine, I will sign the papers." Nolan quietly mumbled to himself. He fetched out a pen from his bag, and started signing the divorce papers.

Thirty minutes later, the taxi hauled up in front of a house—a small luxurious bungalow, to be precise. Nolan climbed out of the taxi and paid the fare.

"Wait," Nolan hurriedly stopped the taxi before it could drive out of the vicinity.

"Is there a problem sir?" The driver asked worriedly.

"No, nothing at all. I just wanted you to have this. I don't need it anymore. You can exchange it back for money or give it to your wife... or someone you care about. Give me your contact number, let me email you the receipt." Nolan said as he handed over the $300,000 worth diamond necklace he'd gotten earlier for Megan.

Nolan didn't need it anymore. It was better to give it out to someone who needed it more than he did.

"T-thank you so much sir. You're very generous sir, may God continue to bless you and your family." The Driver stammered excitedly. He'd never expected this level of kindness in his line of work.

Clearly, the driver didn't know how much the diamond necklace cost. If he knew that it sold for at least three hundred thousand dollars, he would've probably been licking Nolan's shoes by now in appreciation.

The annual income for a taxi driver varies significantly by location, but in this country, it was about $26,000 per year. The average hourly pay for a Taxi Drivers job in the country was $14.89. The hourly salary range was $6.73 to $21.39.

And with an annual income of $26,000, one's daily earnings amounted to about $100. That is without subtracting national insurance, tax, and other expenses like housing, feeding, clothing, etcetera etcetera etcetera.

Most drivers work between 41 and 43 hours per week. A taxi driver typically has longer working hours, often during peak times like early morning and late at night.

With a diamond necklace worth at least $300,000 when resold, he could earn a lot of money that would've taken him an entire decade of taxi driving to make. He could decide to take a long break, go on a vacation or use the money to start up a business.

Nolan was very glad to be of help to someone.

The driver thanked him one last time and drove off.

Nolan watched as the taxi drove out of the compound, and then, he turned towards the luxurious small bungalow behind him.

The 140 square meters bungalow was a single-story building featuring an inviting porch with exposed beams and wide eaves.

These homes were known for their accessibility and cost-efficiency, with features like a low-pitched roof, open floor plans, and a spacious front porch, although the specific layout and features can vary based on design and location.

The building's interior layout includes three bedrooms—including a master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, a kitchen, living and dining areas, two bathrooms, and a laundry area within the single floor, providing a comfortable and functional living space for them.

While the floor area was 140 square meters, the total land area required to accommodate the house, including setbacks, landscaping, and the carport, was significantly larger, probably 200 square meters of land or even more.

Megan had bought this house for over 1.2 million dollars. But in truth, Nolan had secretly been the one who helped her acquire the house. It didn't matter now, did it?

Nolan took all his things and left the house. He didn't have much to begin with. He'd invested everything on Megan and barely had anything under his name except for a few worn out clothes and shoes, and a black suit that Megan had forced him to buy a couple of years back when they wanted to attend her mother's birthday.

Nolan stopped a taxi and left the area. Nolan inquired about a hotel. The taxi stopped in front of the nearest hotel in the district.

The hotel was a 4-star rated hotel.

Nolan walked into the hotel lobby and directly headed towards the front desk. The hotel lobby was bustling with activity. The lobby had a spacious dining area where customers were already busy with their dinners.

The dining area was divided into several segments. There was a section upstairs that provided five-star luxury, and exquisite meals for VIP guests. Then, there were the private dining rooms that are reserved by high end guests and wealthy tycoons.

Currently, there was a violin playing in the background.

"Good evening sir, what would you like us to do for you today?" The clerk, a young woman with smooth and fair skin greeted Nolan politely.

"I would like to book a room for a few days.” Nolan said to the clerk.

"Did you make any reservations beforehand, sir?” The young beautiful clerk inquired. She wanted to confirm if Nolan had already booked a room through one of their official online sites.

"No.” Nolan responded.

“How about any of our membership cards? Do you have any?” The clerk asked, she didn't seem bothered about how poorly dressed the young man before her was.

“No, I don't.”

“Okay. Sir, I will need you to hold on for a while, while I check for available rooms.” The clerk said as she started tapping the keys of her keyboard in search for the information she was looking for.

Nolan only nodded in affirmation.

It didn't take her more than fifteen minutes to bring out the information she was looking for.

“I've found a suitable room for you, sir. But I will need to verify your identification. Can I see your ID or passport?”

Nolan retrieved his ID. He handed it over to the clerk, who immediately started verifying his identification.

The young clerk with a beautiful smooth and fair skin, collected the ID and spared it a glance. She instantly paused.

‘Nolan Wilton? As in “the” Nolan Wilton? That Wilton Family? The true bosses of this hotel.’ She gasped in a daze. Then she spared Nolan a sneaky scrutinizing glance. His clothes were faded, his shoes looked worn out. Though attractive and charming, his hair was rather scruffy and unkempt. There was nothing that spoke of luxury about him. Compared to their normal customers, Nolan looked out of place. Like he didn't belong to this side of the city.

The clerk composed herself as if nothing had happened. She pretended to be working on her monitor and quickly retrieved her smart phone. In the next few minutes, she searched about the Wilton Family online. She found multiple images depicting the entire Wilton Family on the internet.

But there was something missing in all those pictures.

But Nolan wasn't the kind to find pleasure in showing off his wealth in a rather flamboyant manner. He was always like this even before he decided to take the long break. It was also the reason that incited the idea of taking a long break in the first place… not entirely, though.Nolan liked to keep a low profile. He didn't see any reasons why he should reveal his identity to the couple before him and humiliate them in public. It would only make matters worse since they won't believe him in the first place. Rather than wasting his time trying to reveal anything, Nolan leaned back on the chair and just watched them, silently.“Hehehe! You're clearly ignorant of the fact that the Wilton family wields vast amount of power and influence in this city. They could make you disappear without even trying to. That's how terrifying they are. However, you're in luck that the Wilton family cares less about a good-for-nothing trash like you. If not your entire family would've suffered darely for yo

The slender middle-aged man had met with his other friends from high society who were also wealthy businessmen like himself, but they were all giving him excuses. He clearly understood their worry. Even he wouldn't blindly invest in a crumbling company. They could lose a lot of money if they invested that much and it still falls. President Bill Hanks, from Rose Garden was his last hope. But, even that hope seemed gone now.“I am truly sorry Chairman Warren, I wish I could be of help to you at your desperate time, but I am dry at the moment.” President Bill continued, “If only you had informed me about your predicament a bit sooner, then maybe I wouldn't have spent so much money purchasing the Greenland shares.”“It's alright. You tried your best. I will keep looking. I believe that I will find someone who will help me save my company. If not, I will start selling my remaining properties and see if I can raise half the amount.” The slender middle-aged man with a few grey strands referr

But there was something missing in all those pictures. The heir of the Wilton Family was clearly missing in every photo. It was as if he'd never existed to begin with. If not for the fact that the family often made announcements or spoke in conferences concerning their heir, the clerk would've believed that he didn't exist. As if his identity had been erased or kept a secret from the outside world.Surely, there had to be a reason why the identity of such a wealthy and powerful heir was kept secret. Maybe he was comatose, or suffering from some severe illness, or maybe because he was very ugly and hated being in family photos or something. It's not like she cared. At a moment there, this guest had reminded her of the Wilton Family. He had the same name and surname as their heir. It could all be a coincidence, Nolan was a very common name, after all.‘I can't believe I thought that he could be the Wilton heir. "Boss, it is good to finally see you," A middle-aged man said addressing a young man in his late Twenties. The middle-aged man was donning a black expensive suit and exquisite leather shoes, while the young man wore casual wear—faded clothes and a pair of worn out shoes. "Good to see you too, Greg." The young man, Nolan said nonchalantly. "Did you acquire what I asked for?" Nolan suddenly asked. "Yes boss.” Greg nodded immediately. “This is a limited edition diamond necklace worth $300,000 in auction house," Greg said as he handed over a small black box containing the item, to Nolan. Nolan received the box, and opened the packaging only to be drowned by the soft gleaming gems of an intricate, elegant, and finely made diamond necklace. The diamond necklace was one out of 50 in the globe. Crafted by fine craftsmanship, the beautiful diamond necklace spoke of high class and wealth. "Very good. She will definitely like it." Nolan acknowledged. He gave the diamond necklace
