"Mr Cameron will be here in a short while. Clean up yourself and put on this dress. You must appear your best to him," Mrs Allison said, as she showed Stephanie the expensive gown she had purchased from the city's mall. When Mrs Allison noticed that Stephanie got up from the floor very sluggishly, she said: "I told you to abort that thing in your womb, but you refused. However, it's not too late to do that. Mr Cameron mustn't find out that you are pregnant; it could discourage him from getting married to you."

"Mum, I'll go take my bath, but never you call my baby a thing. He's a human being, you know!" Stephanie said angrily, as she stood up and walked into the bathroom to take her bath. She had finished bathing and was wearing the new dress her Mum had bought when she had a sudden knock on the door.

She quickly zipped up her dress and looked through the door hole, when she saw a maid carrying a tray of food in her hands. Stephanie opened the door and collected it from her, then she sat down on a chair in the room to eat.

Within a short time, she had another knock on the door.

"Please, come in," Stephanie said.

The door was opened and Michael walked in.

"Hurry up with your food and come over to the living room. Mr Cameron is here." Michael informed her.

Stephanie looked at him with a frown on her face, then she wiped her mouth with a napkin before saying anything."You know what? You and Mum cannot force your will on me! I'm mature enough to make decisions for myself."

"You can't be serious! So why are you dressed? Isn't it so that you can meet him?" Michael asked.

"No. I'm dressed to leave this house, not to meet with Mr Cameron. I will never get married to that old man. It's high time you and Mum wake up from your sleep!"

"Then you will regret it! Someone wants to give you a good life, yet you reject it. You prefer to remain with a wretched fool who has nothing good to offer you. If you get married to Mr Cameron, you will be made the CEO of 'The Class of Verity'; the company will not have to be sold to the debtor, and you will also live happily and comfortably for the rest of your..."

"Stop it! Just stop it! You want to deceive me into dancing to your tune, all because of your selfish desires. It's impossible. How can you both be so wicked to ask me to marry an old man? You want me to leave my marriage for another marriage, all because of money. No, I won't!"

"Then, be ready to spend the rest of your life in pain and regrets. Because I will make sure that you hate yourself for this senseless decision which you have made." Micheal yelled at her, and walked out of the room, slamming the door after him.

Within a few minutes, someone pushed open the door of the room where Stephanie was, and walked in.

"Stephanie! What's the problem? Is it true that you refused to come out to meet Mr Cameron? Do you intend to make me look like a fool before him? I assured him that you have decided to marry him. That was why he came here. Now, get up and go to the living room. Do what is required of you."

"No, Mum. I'm going nowhere."

"Then, be prepared to face the consequences of your actions!"

Stephanie had been missing for the past two days, and Jakes had begun to get worried. He called her friends and everyone he knew she interacted with, except for her family members, and no one could tell of her whereabouts.

In no time, Jakes's phone began to ring, so he checked the screen to see who it was.

It was an unknown number. He felt reluctant to pick up the call at first, but he later picked it up.

"Hello. Are my on to Jakes?" A male voice asked.

"Yes, you are."

"I'm sure you're worried about your missing wife. Well, that's none of my business. I called to tell you that your wife is with the Allisons. Don't try to look for her, because if you do, you will lose your life in the process! Your wife will be getting married to someone else in no time."

" What?! Who am I speaking with please?" Jakes asked.

"What do you need my identity for? Stephanie does not love you. In a short time, she'll be getting married to a very rich man in Fitbuck city, so don't try to look for her because if you try to come near her, her husband will skin you alive!"

"I can't believe this. I don't know who you are. But I'm sure you're a liar and deceiver!" Jakes yelled at the caller, before hanging up on the phone.

"This can't be true," Jakes muttered under his breath. "I must get to the Allisons' place, first thing tomorrow morning." Jakes thought.

"You will die here!" shouted one of the men dressed in black clothes. He tied Stephanie's two hands and legs with a rope, as Stephanie struggled under his grip.

"Please, leave me alone!" Stephanie cried. She felt very weak.

"Keep quiet!" The man shouted. He was very harsh, and he looked scary.

The man picked up a piece of clothing from the ground and covered her mouth with it.

"Let me go!" Stephanie continued to shout, as she struggled under his grip. When the man was done tying her, he walked out of the room and locked the door.

Stephanie tried to cry out at the top of her voice, but the clothing used to cover her mouth prevented her voice from being heard. She began to feel severe pains in her stomach, so she tried to lie down on the floor, to relieve herself of the pain, but she found it difficult to lie down. Her hands and legs had been tied to a metal chair, so she was so helpless. She continued to groan in pain until the next morning.
