Soon, an alarm began to ring in the villa, alerting everyone.

Lucifer arrived at the back of the mansion. He brought out the brown rope he used earlier, and threw it towards the balcony.

"Clang!"

The iron hook on the rope hooked onto the metal pole of the second-floor balcony.

Lucifer quickly pulled himself up and jumped onto the balcony. He took the rope and followed through the back door, and sneaked into the house.

Right then, the security guards arrived at the back of the mansion, but they couldn't find anyone around. They began to search the whole mansion, looking for the intruder, but Lucifer was long gone.

As Lucifer got into the mansion through the second floor, he made his way towards the stairs, heading to his room on the third floor. Just as he was about to climb the stairs, he heard footsteps coming in his direction. He stopped and quickly looked around, searching for a place to hide.

He removed the black cloth covering his face and put it inside the small black bag he was carrying. He hid the bag inside his coat, then opened one of the nearby rooms and slipped inside.

Just as he shut the door, his uncle arrived at the stairs with a handgun, heading downstairs to check the situation.

Inside the room, Lucifer turned, and his gaze met another pair of eyes staring at him with visible shock. Seeing that it was Lucifer, she was surprised.

"Lucifer!" Anabel blurted out. She had been standing by the window after hearing the alarm about the intruder, and Lucifer suddenly entering without knocking almost scared her to death.

"Mom, are you okay?" Lucifer asked as he walked towards her.

"No... I mean, yes, I'm fine," Anabel said as she gazed at him. "Do you need anything?" she asked as she calmly sat on the bed.

Lucifer shook his head. He approached her and sat beside her. "I just came to check on you after I heard about the intruder in the mansion," Lucifer said with a sincere look on his face.

Anabel was stunned; she wasn't expecting that from Lucifer. It wasn't that they were not on good terms, but she knew Lucifer as someone who fooled around and never cared about others.

As Anabel kept staring at him, he secretly brought out a flat black object from his coat. He moved his hand across the bedframe and placed an audio surveillance bug under the bed.

"Mom, are you okay?" Lucifer asked, noticing she was dazing out.

"Ahh... I'm fine. You don't have to worry. I'm fine," she said.

"How about your ankle? Is it getting better?" Lucifer asked, holding her leg. His hand slowly brushed against her skin, sending shivers down her spine. He began to massage her ankle, and honestly, Anabel couldn't deny that she was feeling good with the way Lucifer was massaging her leg.

"Are you feeling better now?" Lucifer asked.

"Uhh!?" Anabel quickly snapped out of it. She quietly moved her leg away from his reach. "My leg is fine now. I just applied some ointment not long ago."

Lucifer nodded and stood up from the bed. "Since you're fine, I will be going back to my room. Goodnight," he said.

Anabel gave him a subtle nod in response.

Lucifer walked towards the door. He reached out his out his hand to open the door, but the handle suddenly twisted, and the door swung open.

Lucifer stopped in his tracks and raised his head. His sharp gaze met another vicious gaze staring at him intensely, as if it could pierce through his skull. Despite the deadly look from Jackson, who was about to enter the room, Lucifer remained unfazed.

The two stood there, their gazes locked onto each other for almost a minute.

Jackson's face grew nastier with each passing second. He slowly balled his fingers into a fist, his nails digging into his palm.

"What are you doing here?" Jackson asked in a calm voice, but Lucifer could clearly see he was trying to suppress his anger.

Lucifer's gaze shifted to his clenched, trembling fist, and he smirked internally.

"What do you think?"

Lucifer asked with indifferent look on his face. he knew Jackson had a short fuse. So, he decided to test his patience further.

"I said, what are you doing in my mom's room at this hour!?" Jackson asked, his voice rising in anger.

"Your mom, you said? That's our mom," Lucifer replied plainly.

Jaxon's face twisted in annoyance, and he suddenly grabbed Lucifer by the collar and pushed him against the doorframe. Lucifer hit the sharp edge of the door, and a sharp pain ran through his back, but he ignored it.

"You should mind your own business and stay away from anything that has to do with me!" Jackson tightened his grip on Lucifer's collar, almost strangling him, but Lucifer remained unfazed.

"Jackson, stop now!" Anabel, who had been watching the scene, finally intervened.

Hearing his mother, Jackson let go of Lucifer and walked into the room. But then, he noticed the bulge in Lucifer's coat. His brows tightened as he stared at him.

'What is that? And why is he dressed like that? Wait... that's the smell of blood on him.'

Jackson scanned Lucifer from head to toe.

'Something is definitely wrong with him.'

Noticing Jackson's intense gaze, Lucifer smiled and adjusted his coat properly, secretly covering his slightly bleeding shoulder, before turning back towards the room.

"Mom, I hope you enjoyed it. Then I will be heading back to my room. If you need anything, just let me know," Lucifer said and walked away.

Jackson's eyes widened in shock, and his face turned ugly. "You bastard!" he muttered and took a step forward to chase after him.

"Will you just stop, Jackson!" his mother shouted at him.

Jackson stopped in his tracks and bit down on his lips as he stared at the door.

"Jackson, can you just calm down and stop being childish?" his mother said as she threw the blanket aside and got up from the bed.

"Childish, you said?" Jackson replied and turned to face her. "What are you doing with that pervert in the middle of the night!?"

Anabel closed her eyes and shook her head with a tired sigh. "You're overthinking it, Jackson. He just came to check up on me because of the intruder in the villa."

Jaxon's face eased a bit. but with his observation of Lucifer right now. He seemed like Someone who is up to no good.

"Fine... I get that, but what exactly do you mean by what you said today during dinner? Why support uncle to take control of the company?" Jackson suddenly asked.

"Won't that be for the best? Or do you want Lucifer to be the next chairman?" Anabel asked with raised brows.

"Tsk... Lucifer again," Jaxon clicked his tongue in annoyance. "Am I really that invisible to you? Why are you only seeing uncle Martin and Lucifer? Am I that incompetent in your eyes?"
