"Have you heard? Lancelot Academy will begin their admission next week!"
"Ooh! How I wish I had my meridans opened. I heard only through that can you wield beta force and become a Magi" Aiden groaned as he covered his ears, trying his best to not let the topic of his classmates discussions get to him. "Hey, Aiden" a palm smacked his desk. The sound was so loud that it alerted the students in the class. "I heard in the past that you swore to attend Lancelot Academy? it's the number one school for Magis in the state you know?" a mocking voice rang. "What are you saying Rio?. Lancelot Academy is for Magis. You know I'm not" Aiden laughed self mockingly. Rio. He was a prodigy in the class due to the fact that he had awakened his meridans. That meant he had a high chance of becoming a Magi. As such, he was pretty popular in the class, with many girls swooning over him. "Tch. I heard your parents were powerful Magis before their deaths" Rio grinned."Shouldn't you have inherited their talent? say aren't you too much of a trash?" "Well, what can I say? things didn't go as expected. Unlike you.. I wasn't fated to be a Magi in this life" Aiden replied with a small smile. "Tch. Wipe off that smile dammit! are you mocking me or something?!" Pah! Rio landed a crisp slap on Aiden's face. "Yeah. Yeah. Sorry" Aiden held up his cheeks as he apologized. "Weakling. I expected you'd put up a fight" saying this, Rio sauntered off, while being surrounded by his loyal supporters. "Put up a fight huh?".. Riing! The electric bell for closing time rang, causing many students from Jymy Oles middle school to cheer happily as they grabbed their things preparing to go to their various homes. "Man, I heard the rates of murders happening this past week has risen by a notch" "Hm. I wonder what those from the Sentry Association are doing about this. They haven't found the killer after this long time has passed?""Yeah. The serial killer has been going on about this for weeks. Are the Sentries so unreliable?" "Well, at least the LEA has placed a lockdown right? I heard that the serial killer mostly acts at night" Two men discussed amongst themselves as they walked down the street, walking past Aiden who just happened to hear their discussion. "Serial Killer huh?" Aiden mumbled. After the introduction of magis and beta force, it was only natural for many to begin cultivating malicious thoughts. There existed some magis who believed that their destinies were to become the superior race. As such, they would often bully those who were not magis, committing nefarious crimes and going scot free. They were often regarded as Mercenaries by the public. But like both sides of a coin, there existed a group who believed in the notion: with great power, comes great responsibility. These like minded individuals banded together to form the Sentry Association. These individuals (sentries) made it their task to protect innocent citizens from the evil paws of the Mercenaries. They were also in charge of dealing with Fiends and threats to society. Over time, it became a much coveted occupation... Creek.. Creek.. Creek.. Crickets made their unique sounds as frogs croaked, all under the brilliant illumination of the mum, surrounded by glittering stars. "Tomorrow is the exams. Although my grades are the best in the class, Mr. Shrimp is pretty unpredictable. It won't hurt to revise a bit" Aiden yawned as he held an old oil lamp in one hand, and a large textbook on the other. Placing the textbook on the wooden floor, he attempted to lighten up the lamp. "Aish!" he groaned in frustration when he noticed that the oil in the lamp had run out. "I forgot to buy some oil on my way back from school" He took a glance at the reflection of the moon on his window. "It's pretty late now. I wonder if the convienence store is still open?"But just at that moment, the discussion he overheard from the two men on his way back from school rang in his head. "They mentioned a seriak killer who acts at night. What if he shows up?" he shivered when he thought of such a possibility. Shit.. He was scared of leaving the house, but the oil was very important. Without it, he wouldn't be able to light his lamp and read. Taking a deep breath, he weighed both choices inwardly before making a choice. He was going to risk everything and go buy the oil. Perhaps, the serial killer won't even reach the area he was in. Dead set, he went back to his cozy room. Using the almost obscure rays of the moon reflected through his window, he removed a wad of banknotes from underneath his pillow. Tucking them safely in his pocket, he left the house. After carefully padlocking the door, he started jogging towards the closest convenience store... "Damn that Sentry! I never thought that my movement would be tracked somehow!"A figure looking haggard with various bruises and torn clothing staggered into an alleyway, leaning against a trash can, panting heavily. Judging from the body shape, it was a female. However, her hair which was stained with blood was drapped over her shoulder, concealing her face. "Aish! I need juice before that damn Sentry comes here, or else my life will be forfeit!" Aisha shrieked in agony and frustration. "Eh?" just then, her pointy ears twitched. Moments later, a jogging individual emerged; it was Aiden! "Juiice!!" Aisha shrieked as she pounced forward. Aiden who was jogging through the alley suddenly felt something pounced on him. It felt ice cold, however he felt a bouncy elastic like mound pressing against his chest. Unfortunately, he didn't have time to savor this sensation because he suddenly felt two sharp objects sink into his collar bone. "Ughh!!" he groaned as he tried to wriggle his Body free. Unfortunately, Aisha's strong grip kept him in place."Yes! Yes! Yes!" like a mad beast, Aisha held onto Aiden like her life depended on it. She could already feel some of her lost stamina being restored. "Blood sucker! leave the kid!!" an angry voice yelled, followed by a thick vine that slammed against Aisha, sending her flying. "Ugh! time to go!" Aisha groaned as she stood up wobbly, fleeing into the darkness... "Hm?" Aiden groaned as he opened his eyes, instantly inhaling an unpleasant sulphuric smell. "Hospital?" he mumbled weakly, unconsciously touching the right side of his collarbone, which just happened to be bandaged. Memories of what happened at the dark alley flooded into his brain. He shivered. What was wrong with that strange individual and why did she bite his neck? No matter how hard Aiden thought about it, things just didn't make any sense. At that moment, the door opened and a doctor walked in. "You are awake young man? what a relief" the doctor smiled charismatically."D-Doctor.. how long was I unconscious?" Aiden asked. "A whole week"Aiden sat on the bed in the hospital ward, lost in his own thoughts. Thanks to the doctor, he got to hear the full gist of what happened. Apparently, a Sentry was chasing after the notorious 'night serial killer' who managed to flee after hurting him. Guilty, the Sentry brought him to the hospital for treatment, footing all the medical bills. "Tch. Though I wonder what's up with that killer. What did she have to bite me on the neck? is she a fiend attribute magi?" Aiden wondered.--- "But the main issue is that I missed my school exams. I'll have to retake that session again. Tch. I shouldn't have gone out that night" he gritted his teeth with regrets.-[Ping! Congratulations! Host has bonded with the Super Vampire System!] A row of words suddenly appeared on a floating screen before Aiden's eyes. Not only that, merry sounds of fireworks exploding rang in his head. "What in the hell.." Aiden cleaned his eyes, but the floating screen didn't vanish. The words on the floating scr
Drip. Drip. Drip. Aiden stared as his fingers, dripping with blood. A look of horror in his expression. All around him were shriveled coprses. The atmosphere was gloomy, further accentuating the gory sight.-[Mission Completed!]-[You have recieved +10 Blood drachmas]-[You have devoured 35 litres of blood] "W-What have I turned into?!" he burst into tears... Lancelot Academy..It was a prestigious school to breed young magis, being the number one in Halowe State. It was located in a 1st tier city called Gold Spring city and was the most powerful force there, apart from the Viscount Manor. However currently, the gates of Lancelot Academy was wide ajar, welcoming a rapid stream of visitors. This was because, today was the day of the Academy's admission. An event that only happened once a year. The Academy's landscape was ridiculously huge, so was the building structure. Like any other Magi Academies, the admission was often free however, it came with an entrance test.Failing
Silence. Everybody present at the venue of Lancelot Academy's entrance exam stared at Rio like he was a monster. "T-Two Mojos?" "And they are both King tiers!" "I heard the country's number one Sentry has two mojos. But they are just king tier and queen tier talents" "Do you mean to say this kid is even more talented than the country's number one Sentry?" Hearing the audiences discussions about him, Rio grinned smugly. "I'm the best in the world! before my talent, everybody is just trash!" "W-What a pleasant surprise. To think we have a talented youngster in our midst with an innate talent of dual mojos" Teacher Krillin said, barely able to contain his excitement. Innate talent! Unlike normal talent, Magis with innate talent were destined for great things. Talent usually referred to the mojo a Magi wielded. But innate talent.. there was no ranking to it. If a Magi had an innate talent, then they were destined for great things. That was their fate, already set in stone! Since
"Yeah! Yeah! Pummel him!" "That's what I'm talking about!" "Loser! get up and fight!" Entering the battle rambo building, Aiden winced in discomfort at the loud noises the audiences were making. Due to being a Vampire, his senses were more enhanced than humans. As such, the noise was amplified a hundred times over. It was as if someone placed a megaphone besides his ear and was screaming into it. "First time here kid?" the middle aged man who was walking besides Aiden, smiled when he read his body language. "Hm. I don't know how to address you sir" Aiden replied. "My name is Xavier. What's yours?" "Aiden" Mr. Xavier grinned. "Alright Aiden, let's get you booked up!" Leading the way, the duo arrived at a counter. "I want to book a fight" Mr. Xavier said to the female behind the counter. "Oh? what battle stage please?" the counter lady asked. Mr. Xavier observed Aiden for a bit before responding. "The Beta stage""Alright. Let me prepare the booking. Is your fighter a Mag
"Nightshade Royal Academy?" Aiden repeated with skpectism. "Tsk. Tsk. It is an Academy owned by the Nightshade Country" Mr. Xavier grinned. "Say what?!" Aiden almost had an heart attack. "You aren't kidding withme right?" he asked suspiciously. In this current world, there were cities, counties, States, dukedoms, kingdoms, empires and continents. The Sentry Association was an organization that had jurisdiction over all Magis. Their counterpart were the Mercenary Fraternity, that often lived in the shadows. However, there also existed noble and royal power that ruled over their own regions in the world. Starting from the bottom were the Lords. They often ruled over hamlets and villages. Then were the Barons who ruled over towns. Viscounts were nobles and rulers of cities. Counts were nobles who ruled over counties. Earls were nobles ranked higher than Counts. They ruled over states. Dukes ruled over Dukedoms, Kings ruled over Countries, Emperors ruled over Continents. As for
"This is the Academy?" Aiden mumbled as he alighted down from a black limousine. The sheer size and decor of the Academy's building was beyond anything he could ever imagine. Taking a look at the premises, he noticed that all the students came in expensive looking cars. From the grandeur of their movement and the dignified air surrounding them, even an infant could tell that they were all nobles. "Pheew. I can do this" Aiden took a breather as he sauntered towards the school building. At the lobby area, there were four platforms with plaques besides them. Freshmen Sophomore Junior Senior "Hm. According to my card. I am at the class D for the Freshmen Students" Aiden mumbled to himself as he followed a group who were headed for the platform with the *Freshmen* plaque besides it. "Though, I wonder what the platform is used for?" he mumbled with curiosity. As if answering his question, a male noble amongst the group stepped on the platform. As soon as he did, the platform got
Not long after Nyx departure, a new teacher walked into the Class D. It was a female with dark spots underneath her eyes. Her lips were covered in black lip gloss and she was a devilish beauty. Comparing her to the maid at Xavier's house, Aiden shook his head. When speaking of natural assets although the Teacher before him was slightly above average, she didn't come close. "Good morning Class D! I am Lisa, your Geography Teacher!" "Oh. She has a beautiful voice. Not bad" Aiden mumbled to himself. "Hm.. Let's begin our classes then. Today's topic is going to be the distinction of regions.." Lisa began her teaching, which she did for over thirty minutes. If not for her beautiful face, many students (mostly guys) would've dozed off because of just how boring the Geography class was. Very soon, Geography class period ended and the next teacher took over. This time, it was a slender man with delicate skin and feminine features. When the females in the class saw this teacher, their e
Aiden couldn't believe what he just heard. Xavier was the Country's protector?! "So, are you related to him in some way?" Charlotte asked. "Something like that. Hm? how did you figure that out? don't tell me your mojo is telepathy?" Aiden gave Charlotte a wary look. "Pft. If I had such a mojo, I would be in Class A, not Class D" Charlotte giggled. "As for how I did it, I kinda compared you both skin tone. Not to mention that you both have a dangerous vibe around you" Charlotte explained. "Ohh" Aiden nodded. Grabbing the syrup can, he splayed it on the french fries before tossing it into his mouth. -[Ping! You have ingested a harmful substance!] As soon as the system sent this warning, Aiden felt a sharp pain in his stomach. It felt like a scorpion was clawing at his guts. "Ugh!" he groaned as he held his stomach in pain, sweat trickling down his face. "Are you okay?" Charlotte sharply noticed the look of pain in his face. "I.. I think I ate something poisonous" Aiden stutte
