Chapter 1
1. Where Am I?
"Where..." After Feng regained consciousness, he looked around in complete shock. He held his throbbing head and gradually sat on the adge of the bed. Things didn't seem to feel right. "Where am I?"
"What..." When he raised his and saw the reflection of his face on the silver plate, he exclaimed in horror. It seemed he had become someone else entirely. He touched his face in exclamation. "What is....."
Before he could finished asking himself, memories of the recently deceased owner of the body flooded his mind. He was now Feng, the fifth-generation direct descendant of the Zhou family.
"Brother Feng..." Just as Feng was lost in deep memories, a girl's voice, clear and melodious like a celestial melody, came from outside the room. Then, three knocks rang out, "Bang, bang, bang..." "Brother Feng, it's me Yan'er. Are you there?"
"Yanlin?" Hearing the girl's voice outside the door, more memories flooded his mind. He remembered that Yanlin had left the family with a mysterious old man when she was eight years old. As for why she had suddenly returned now, he had no idea. But he had a good relationship with her sister.
"Brother Feng, aren't you inside?" Seeing that Feng didn't respond, the girl's voice came again, but this time it wasn't as loud as before. Perhaps the girl knew Feng was resting and didn't want to disturb him.
“The room isn’t locked, you can come in!”
The door was slowly pushed open, and a faint fragrance wafted in with the breeze. Feng took a deep breath, his mind reeling. A beautiful young woman in a fine dress gracefully entered. Although she still had the youthful innocence of a young girl, Feng had to admit that in two or three years, she would be a beauty that could bring ruin to a country and topple empires.
"Brother Feng...are you alright?" The girl's lips parted slightly. When she saw Feng's current state, a barely perceptible hint of anger flashed across her face, but it was quickly concealed. Then, she walked over, her beautiful eyes softening.
"I'm fine." Feng answered, and then simply closed his eyes.
"Brother Feng, this is for you." Yanlin bit her lip slightly, and brought out a small wooden box, emitting a faint blue light and looking extremely mysterious. After saying that, she handed the small wooden box to Feng. "I hope it's helpful to you."
"For me?" Feng glanced at Yanlin, who had a resolute expression, but did not immediately take it. Instead, he narrowed his eyes and stared at the small wooden box that emitted a faint blue light, looking puzzled and not understanding what Yanlin meant by this. He knew that the wooden box contained something extraordinary. "What is it?"
"This is a Meridian Pill. It has the effect of repairing meridians!" Yanlin seemed to sense Feng's confusion, and after a moment of contemplation, she finally spoke.
"What?" Feng's body jolted violently, as if struck by lightning. He jumped up from the bed, his expression agitated. He gripped Yanlin's arms tightly with both hands, his face filled with disbelief.
"You mean there's an elixir inside?" Despite his shock, Feng still confirmed it, and one could hear the intense excitement in his voice.
"Mm." Yanlin smiled sweetly. The stinging pain in her arms did not dampen Feng's excitement. It seemed that Yanlin enjoyed seeing Feng happy. "Hopefully it's not too late."
Upon hearing Yanlin's words, Feng not only had no intention of taking the pill, but also looked at Yanlin with a worried expression, "Where did this pill come from? Is it the one in the ancestral hall?"
“Brother Feng…” Seeing Feng’s refusal, Yanlin’s expression immediately became anxious, and she hurriedly said, “This pill is not from the family’s ancestral hall, it is...."
"Where is it from, Yanlin?" At this moment, Feng was determined to get to the bottom of it. He knew Yanlin would be taking a huge risk to steal the elixir for him. Even though the two were close, he naturally couldn't accept such a valuable item, because he couldn't harm such a girl who cared about him for his own sake.
In the Nine Provinces Continent, alchemists were extremely rare. However, this did not mean that there were no alchemists in the Nine Provinces Continent a thousand years ago. The Zhou family, by chance, saved a first-grade alchemist a thousand years ago. When the first-grade alchemist left, he left two first-grade pills for the family, and this Meridian Pill was one of them! As for the second pill, its whereabouts was unknown. Over the course of a thousand years, no one in the Zhou family has consumed this elixir, demonstrating its rarity and value.
“it's …” Yanlin hesitated, but ultimately couldn’t explain it clearly.
"Yanlin, take the pill back." Feng seemed to have already decided that the pill in Yanlin's hand was the precious elixir that the Zhou family treasured like a precious gem.
“Brother Feng… this pill was given to me by my master before I left. He seemed worried that I would be harmed when he saw that I was coming back, so he left me this pill.” Yanlin pondered for a while, and then a flash of inspiration struck her. She immediately said, “So you don’t need to worry that this pill is related to the family.”
"Really?" Feng was slightly surprised. Based on her vague memory, Feng remembered that when Yanlin was eight years old, she became the disciple of an old man with unparalleled martial arts skills. This man was mysterious and extremely powerful. Even the elder of the Zhou family treated him with great respect. It was clear that Yanlin's master was no ordinary person.
"Was this elixir truly left to you by your master?" If what Yanlin said is true, then this elixir is most likely her personal possession.
"Hmph, when have I ever lied to you? Besides, why would I lie to you?" Yanlin pretended to be angry, then pouted her cherry lips and turned her head to the other side, looking quite annoyed.
"Okay, sorry about everything. I was wrong." At this moment, Feng had no choice but to admit his mistake to Yanlin. After all, Yanlin was still young, while Feng had been in society for many years and was quite experienced. With his 24-year-old mind, even if he wasn't particularly skilled at coaxing children, he was more than capable of handling the situation. Of course, this did not rule out the possibility that Yanlin was just pretending to be angry.
"It's Okay, Brother Feng." Yanlin's captivating smile finally returned to her face. Feng, however, stared blankly at Yanlin's stunning face, lost in thought.
"Brother Feng, hurry up and take the pill, or it will be troublesome if you develop a chronic illness!" Under Feng's gaze, Yanlin's face flushed red. Her beautiful appearance made Feng forget that his hand was now holding Yanlin's delicate white hand instead of the small wooden box.
For Yanlin, this was the first time a man other than her father had held her hands so tightly. Although this man already held a place in her heart, Yanlin was still in turmoil, unsure of what to do. The complexity of her feelings at this moment could not be explained in a few words. She somewhat hoped that Feng would hold her hands longer, but she was also very shy…
"Brother Feng..." Yanlin whispered, her beautiful face already flushed with embarrassment.
Feng's mind returned instantly, and his blank head finally regained its normal thinking ability. He quickly looked down and saw that his hands were tightly holding Yanlin's delicate hands. Even with his thick skin, Feng couldn't help but blush at this moment and immediately withdrew his hands.
Feng's action undoubtedly made Yanlin even more embarrassed, not knowing what to do next. The awkward atmosphere made both of them uncomfortable, and they could even hear each other's panting.
"Brother Feng, you should take this pill as soon as possible!" Yanlin's somewhat distracted voice broke the awkward silence. She quickly placed the small wooden box on the edge of Feng's bed and rushed out, not giving Feng a chance to react. By the time Feng realized what was happening, Yanlin was already dozens of meters away.
"This little girl..." Feng smiled bitterly to herself as she watched Yanlin's beautiful back. Then, she picked up the small wooden box, her expression slightly serious. Suddenly, her narrowed eyes snapped open, and she opened the box. A dark pill the size of a longan immediately came into Feng's view.
This was a pill the size of a longan, but small like a round chocolate. However, Feng did not dare to underestimate this seemingly ordinary pill. It was a first-grade pill, and even a first-grade alchemist might not be able to refine a pill of the same grade.
As soon as the small wooden box was opened, the room was filled with the fragrance of medicine, which made Feng's pores open up. Compared with the dragon herb water before, the latter was obviously much more noble.
"This elixir truly lives up to its name; even a first-grade elixir is far superior to any dragon herb water!" Feng took out the elixir from the small wooden box, held his breath, and allowed his pores to fully absorb the rich medicinal fragrance. Then, he exhaled a breath of turbidity and directly placed the elixir into his mouth.
The elixir melted instantly upon entering his mouth, forming hundreds of warm currents that flowed through Feng's eight extraordinary meridians.
Several hours later, Feng opened his tightly closed eyes, and a breathtaking light shone from the depths of his eyes. His pale face had already regained its rosy hue. He had previously repaired the Girdle Vessel meridian, one of the eight extraordinary meridians, by taking the Dragon Herb Water. Now, after taking the pill, he had been able to repair three of the main meridians of the eight extraordinary meridians. "As expected of a second-grade elixir, the pill has repaired the Conception Vessel and Governing Vessel meridians and the Penetrating Vessel meridian in my eight extraordinary meridians."
In other words, Feng had now repaired four of the eight extraordinary meridians.
The human body had twelve regular meridians and eight extraordinary meridians. The eight extraordinary meridians consist of eight major meridians: the Governing Vessel, Conception Vessel, Penetrating Vessel, Girdle Vessel, Yin Linking Vessel, Yang Linking Vessel, and Yin Stepping Vessel. Feng had all his meridians destroyed, making him practically useless, even weaker than an average person.
However, Feng had now initially repaired four of the eight extraordinary meridians and opened them up one after another. He was now much stronger than a normal person. What made Feng most happy was that he was now able to cultivate. Repairing the eight extraordinary meridians was only a matter of time.
Feng stretched out his whole body, and his bones immediately crackled. A long-lost feeling of comfort quickly spread throughout his body.
"I've finally regained my cultivation ability!" Feng's eyes shone brightly, and an indescribable joy made his body tremble slightly. But at that moment, the joyful expression on his face suddenly froze, his face instantly turned red, and then a mouthful of blood gushed out from his body, staining the edge of the bed. He was horrified to discover that the four major meridians he had painstakingly repaired had all broken off again. "Nooo...."
Then he fainted.
In his memories, he recalled that the person who crippled him was Yong, a second-generation member of the Zhou family. The reason he now fainted was because there was still a residual soul power in his body that did not belong to him at all. It was this power that shattered the four major meridians that he had finally managed to reconnect, causing him to fail at the last moment.
He was so enraged with Yong that he vomited blood and fainted.
But while unconscious, he was shocked to find that his mental energy was more concentrated than ever before. A horrifying scene appeared before his eyes: his broken meridians were being pounded by violent blood and energy.
"Is this internal vision? Could it be that I can see the situation inside my body?" Feng's mind was extremely active, and he instantly knew that he was in a state of internal vision. However, what worried him was that what use was internal vision at this time? With the violent blood and energy in his body constantly impacting his already broken meridians, even if he could regain consciousness, he already knew what the consequences would be. He would be completely crippled if he didn't die.
Just as Feng was desperately trying to wake up, all his mental energy was drawn to a certain place, or rather, a part of his body.
"These are Buddhist prayer beads?" Feng was shocked to discover that there was a string of Buddhist prayer beads in his brain, that is, in his sea of consciousness. The prayer beads emitted a pale golden light, giving Feng an extremely comfortable feeling. Moreover, as the pale golden light continued to emanate from the prayer beads, his sea of consciousness was now a vast expanse of pale golden liquid. Then he frowned. "But how could these prayer beads be so similar to the prayer beads in that Asian antique shop?"
"Could it be?" Just then, he was horrified to discover that the prayer beads in his sea of consciousness were exactly the same as the ones he had bought from the antique shop. His mind raced again, and a bold idea popped into his head. "Could it be that I was transported here because of this string of Buddhist beads?"

"Damn, these blood pythons are incredibly fast! I'll deal with you when I'm stronger, you all wait and see!" Feng dared not engage in hand-to-hand combat with these blood pythons now. However, there was plenty of time, and Feng would not give up this good place. With years of experience in tomb raiding, Feng moved through the narrow passages with surprising speed, like a fish swimming in water. The blood pythons behind him were no pushovers either; they had carved out these passages themselves.Even though the herb gatherers managed to leave the scene first, the pythons almost caught up, rapidly closing the distance between them. However, he eventually managed to rush out of the narrow passage, but he was terrified by the scene before him.The original opening, which was only about three meters high, had become a giant cave six or seven meters high. He immediately realized that the opening had been carved out by th
