The Big Head!

Nick rubbed Vivian Walter's name on his gravestone. The only way to let go of his mother try to be strong, enough to hold back tears that want to fall from his eyes. Vivian doesn't come back to life when he cries.

At all, Nick had to do now was to comply with Vivian's final please to regain her rights, including visit Dr. Frenkie Chu clinic.

Nick had long ignored his mother's wishes for a checkup when he developed symptoms such as a nosebleed upon awakening from a nightmare, but now Nick is about to fulfill Vivian's first wish.

"Hello Doctor," Nick politely greeted Dr. Frenkie Chu, who was waiting for his arrival.

"Hello Mr. Nick. Please sit down," he commanded, opening his medical file.

"Do you have any complaints other than blurred vision?" Dr. Frenkie Chu asked Nick, who was already in the office.

Nick shook his head.

"What's wrong, doctor?" Nick finally asked, a little worried.

“According to the test results, you have symptoms of polycythemia. Generally, these symptoms occur in people like you who have high levels of the hormone erythropoietin. I think there's something wrong with your bone marrow, but so far your only complaint is blurred vision. Medication can only be used to control certain symptoms. If you have any complaints, please contact us as soon as possible."

"Thank you, Doctor" Nick said.

Not only did Nick have frequent nosebleeds and blurry vision, but strangely enough, the symptoms disappeared on their own when Nick accidentally touched a metal object with an attractive force, such as an electric current or a magnet.

"Doc-" Nick fell silent before Dr. Frenkie Chu answered.

"Yes!" Dr. Frenkie Chu replied, slightly excited at Nick's words.

“Why I'am often have nosebleeds when panic? In fact, these symptoms often appear every night when I wake up from a nightmare,” says Nick, trying to get to the bottom of the anxiety he's been experiencing.

"You do dreams repeat? Are they always the same?" Dr. Frenkie Chu finally gave Nick an explanation after asking, Nick nodded.

"May I ask how was that dream?" Dr. Frenkie Chu asked again.

Nick tells everything that happened every night, recurring dreams. Where are the dreams, a past event when Nick was a child. The incident stuck in his memory, down to the details of his father's childhood abuse.

Little Nick was helpless when he saw his mother and father fighting to end their relationship. Nick wasn't the only reason they wanted to break up, but an incident in which Vivian knew all along that Carlos had a child with another woman was the main reason for their domestic turmoil was.

Argument after quarrel was undeniable, and young Nick was devastated by his father's brutality as he was accepted into the large Ollyxton family with no conditions other than a divorce from Vivian.

When Vivian asked Carlos for an explanation, Vivian was devastated when Carlos openly admitted it. Even though her domestic relationships were already in jeopardy at this point, Vivian tried to survive.

Carlos naturally prefers the Roseanne Ollyxton family to the Vivian family, with whom Carlos had to fight materially, even if Carlos didn't conceive Roseanne, the child of the esteemed and large Ollyxton family a guess.

Carlos' expertise as a physical scientist is welcomed into the large Ollyxton family when he learns that Carlos and Roseanne have a dark relationship with the stipulation that they must stay away from Vivian and Nick.

"Hmm, excuse me in advance-" Dr. Frenkie Chu tried to interrupt Nick's long story, but he apparently already knew where this was going.

"Again, it's always the same, are the dreams you're having repeating?" he added.

"Exactly, Doc," Nick replied with a nod.

"I cannot personally diagnose your condition, but your symptoms may indicate PTSD. Certain professional tests may need to be performed to support this diagnosis. There is!" he explained.

"PTSD?" he asked again.

"Of couse yes Mr. Nick! Kind of post-traumatic. These symptoms are commonly seen in people who are in the post-traumatic stage," Dr. Frenkie Chu explained again.

Nick quickly remembered that it wasn't just his past post-traumatic stress disorder.

"If so, is it called a stress disorder, some sort of mental disorder, Doc?" Nick asked again, wanting to know the truth about his mother's death, where the ground itself was still wet.

"I can't say that's entirely true, Mr! But I don't deny that what you've been through has been a journey leading to hallucinations," replied Dr. Frenkie Chu, trying to explain Nick's terror.

What? Hallucination? Nick thought hard.

His mother's death, which he witnessed with his own eyes, wasn't due to hallucinations or delusions, but an event beyond reality.

"Doc, but this incident took my mother's life. It must not have been a hallucination or an unconscious thought, Doc!" Nick said with tears in his eyes.

"Okay. In that case, here's a referral letter for you to consult about other illnesses outside of my area of responsibility," the doctor said to Nick.

" As far as I'm concerned, I've said from the beginning that I can't diagnose your disease," he added.

Nick nodded and left the examination room.

"Mr. Nick Walter," a female voice over the speakerphone called Nick's name in the medication waiting room.

Nick's twinkling eyes, seen from the counter hall of the pharmacy, distracted the woman who was trying to explain the medicine to Nick. Nick listened at length to the woman's explanation of some medicines.

"Mr. Nick-" The woman stopped her words when Nick picked up the medicine.

"Don't forget the referral letter, Dr. Frenkie Chu awaits results to provide further treatment for the disease," she added.

Without saying a word, Nick nodded at the woman who was fascinated by.

Nick adjusted his glasses, parted his comatose hair and walked toward the exit of the hospital. Before Nick stepped on his feet, he saw a man who seemed to have known Nick for a long time. Nick corrected the position of his slightly blurry glasses to make sure someone had distracted him.

CALL ME BIG HEAD!

Nick immediately remembered a childhood friend who always wanted to be called Big Head.

Freddo? Why is he here? After making sure Nick knew the guy, he thought.

This is the campus area. Dangerous! Nick muttered loudly.
