Damian

Mila and I waited the entire day, but Charles never showed up. Fear was written all over her face and those scars? Oh how I would have gotten so much delight in squeezing the little life out of that peasant’s neck.

I already called in a doctor to tend to her bruises and she dozed off due to the effects of the medication. So I carried her into one of the rooms and let her rest.

As the new day awoke, the clear sky brightened the earth and the sun spread its warm morning rays all over. I sat in bed, my legs slid into my flip flops and my arms crossed in front of me.

A gentle knock on my door distracted my meditation but I didn’t respond right away. The knock came again, a bit firmer this time.

“Mr. Reynold… are you awake?” Mila’s faint voice rang through the thick door and I pinched the space between my brows.

The last thing I wanted was to speak to anyone this early, especially not today. I got up to open the door but another voice outside stopped me in my tracks.

Damian“Rostella I think you should leave..” Mila added, pulling me to the side while she stood between Rostella and I. “And who are you to involve yourself in private matters?” Rostella shot back sternly, her left hand still rubbing against her reddened neck. “If it weren’t for me, I wonder how you would have broken free from his grip. So please do yourself a huge favor and see yourself out before things slip out of everyone’s control!” The firmness in Mila’s voice shook the ground. I’ve never seen her stand on business before. “Damian… are you just going to stand there and watch her speak to me in this manner?” Rostella’s voice softened. Tears flowed down her cheeks as she tried to step forward but Mila stood in her way. “We were finally getting along, remember when you put this necklace around my neck?” She said,I glanced at her neck and then at Mila. I thought she’d flip out, but she didn’t even look down at Rostella’s neck. Her eyes remained glued to her face, anger seethin

Damian. “Good morning..” Mila greeted softly. Serena glanced at me as she sat beside me, her arms folded tightly over her chest. “Good morning..” Serena replied. She clearly had questions and I knew I’d have to deal with that later. “Anyways, as I was saying Serena..” I continued, snapping her back to the main issue on ground. “There’s no need beating around the bush anymore and playing hide and seek with the Baldwins and the Bakers..” “So you’re telling me that your sister whom you mourned is actually alive and in the custody of Preston and Rostella?” “Exactly. And what’s even worse, she doesn’t even recall who I am..” I grunted. My fists clenched beside me but Mila gently placed her palm over it, helping me ease the tension. Serena noticed it and a smirk appeared on the corner of her lips but she didn’t utter a word. “So what’s the next line of action?” She asked. I rubbed my temple with my other hand and let out a heavy sigh. “I have a few ideas, but I need time to implemen

DamianOur lips intertwined, not even taking a second to gasp for air. Our chests were tightly against each other, so close I could feel her heartbeat. I moved carefully, my fingers almost digging into her thighs as I held her tightly, ascending the stairs quickly to the bedroom.I longed for her, pined for her even. I didn’t know she or anyone could have such an impact on me.“Are you okay?” I asked, pulling my lips away to catch some air. She nodded immediately, finding my lips again.Soon, we reached the bedroom, and I carefully placed her on the bed; one by one, I let loose of her clothing. From her linen nightdress to her cotton underwear, now soaked. “Hurry.” She muttered.Never seen her so bold, so in control, and for a moment I paused to admire her. Her silk black hair was as free as the forest winds, cascading down her back, while some strands were glued to her forehead and her face from the heat.I took off my clothes, and carefully I let myself into the warmth between he

DamianStanding by my window, I stared into the empty night. My heart raced, my eyes burned and my throat felt blocked. I spent three years of my life mourning my entire family, only to reunite with my only sister and she doesn’t even know who I am. I have no idea what Preston and Rostella must have done to her, but this guessing game is over. I don’t care what Rostella has up her sleeves, now my intentions will be made open. A sigh of frustration escaped my lips as I dug my hands into my pocket and took out my phone to call Serena. The phone rang a couple of times before she answered, her voice not rising above a whisper. “Your mission there is over Serena..” I said firmly, ignoring her greetings. “What?” She shot from the other end. “I don’t understand sir, what do you mean it’s over? We’ve barely even started the real deal..” I heard a soft knock on my door and Mila let herself in before I could turn around completely. In her hand was a bowl of soup on a tray and a warm smile

DamianI couldn’t believe my eyes. I literally felt like I was in a trance and the slightest snap of my fingers would jerk me back to reality. “Ana..” I heard a familiar voice and slowly turned around, only to see the one person I never expected to see. “Rostella?” My mouth hung open as I turned back around. “Eliana?” “Ro, who is this man and how does he know my full name?” Hearing those words from my own sister’s mouth sent shivers down my spine. I stared at her from the crown of her head to the sole of her feet and I could tell I wasn’t dreaming. “Ellie what are you talking about?” I asked, my hands and knees quivering in shock. Rostella quickly pulled her away, putting up a smile on her face. “Damian you’re mistaking her for someone else, this isn’t the Eliana you know…” she urged but even in death, I can spot my sister in the midst of a million clones. I rubbed my eyes and made to go close to Eliana, but she took a step back. “Eliana don’t you remember your own brother?”

Rostella Why wasn’t I excited? This has been my dream ever since Damian walked back into our lives and ruined my wedding. I prayed for this day to come so I could gloat over his downfall for the second time. But the sound of his death didn’t sing melodies in my ear anymore. Something in my stomach twisted and this time, my tears were genuine. I looked at his face, but I couldn’t find any atom of fear in his eyes. Three years of isolation really toughened him up in ways nobody even imagined. “Well… this is all you and your family has ever wanted.” Damian added and my throat burned. I didn’t want this, not anymore. “What kind of letters did the war god send Damian?” I asked. He stared at me for a while and sighed heavily. He took out his buzzing phone and immediately attended to whoever it was on the other end. He hates me all over again at this point. What a wonderful birthday gift. “Uhmm… Rostella, I’m so sorry I made you go through all that stress, but right now I’m dea
