One..

Marcus leaned back in his chair, his smirk growing as he raised a finger toward Adrian, he was clearly enjoying the situation, and the fact that Adrian hadn't backed down made it even more entertaining for him.

"Two..."

The students gathered around the table began whispering again, some leaning toward their friends while others openly watched the confrontation. "Has Adrian gone mad? He's actually challenging an S-Rank combatant in public!" one student whispered, shaking his head. Another folded his arms and scoffed. "Maybe surviving that dungeon made him think he's invincible. He should be grateful he escaped with his life instead of looking for trouble."

But what if he found something in the dungeon? a student sitting nearby interrupted. "I've heard that an SSS-Rank Dragon Gem can help an awakened evolve their power. If Adrian found one, maybe his rank has changed."

His friend immediately shook his head. "That's impossible. This was supposed to be an A-Rank dungeon. SSS-Rank Dragon Gems aren't things you find lying around in places like that."

"Then explain the SS-Rank monster they encountered!"

The student fell silent for a moment before glancing toward Adrian. "That's the problem, isn't it? An SS-Rank monster shouldn't have appeared in an A-Rank dungeon in the first place. What if it was a double dungeon? What if the entrance they used only showed the first dungeon, and there was another one hidden inside?"

Another student leaned closer, lowering his voice. "Whatever happened in there, every member of that party made it back alive except Adrian. Now look at him. He returned alone, and he's standing in front of Darius without even flinching. Something must have happened inside that dungeon."

"Or he's simply lost his mind," someone else muttered. "Which explanation do you think is more likely?"

Marcus continued counting, enjoying every second of Adrian's discomfort. "Three..."

Adrian's eyes moved from Marcus to Darius, and for the first time since he had approached the table, he began to question his own decision.

What was I thinking?

He stared at Darius's calm face, then glanced down at his own hands as if they belonged to someone else.

I'm actually challenging Darius.

His eyes activated instinctively, revealing the information he had already suspected. Darius was still an S-Rank awakened, and the power flowing through his body was far beyond anything Adrian could handle with his current strength. His enhanced vision began calculating the possible outcomes of a fight, showing him the movements Darius could make and the damage each attack might cause.

A punch to the chest.

Severe internal injuries.

A strike to the head.

Possible coma.

A direct hit to the stomach.

Death.

Adrian's eyes widened slightly.

Oh, wonderful. My new eyes can see the future, and apparently, the future involves me getting beaten to death in a cafeteria.

He quickly looked away from Darius, but the information continued running through his mind.

Why am I even doing this? I have an E-Rank Healing ability. I'm not a swordsman, a mage, or some combat genius who can defeat stronger opponents with clever tricks. I'm a healer! My job is to stand behind people who can fight, not volunteer to become a hospital patient twice in one day!

He swallowed and forced his shoulders to relax.

I only came here to see whether they felt any remorse for betraying me and leaving me to die. I wanted to know if there was even a little guilt in their hearts.

Adrian glanced at Darius again.

The man's expression had grown colder.

Well, I have my answer. Now I'm about to be sent back to the hospital because of my own stupidity.

"Four..." Marcus continued, raising another finger. "Three seconds left, Adrian. You should start moving unless you've suddenly developed a death wish."

"Shut up, Marcus," Adrian muttered.

Marcus's eyebrows rose.

Then he laughed.

"Oh? He still has some fight left in him!"

Adrian was about to respond when a voice spoke from directly behind him.

"Hello. Are you Adrian McCall?"

The question was simple, but Adrian froze as soon as he heard his name.

He hadn't noticed anyone approaching.

More importantly, the moment the voice reached his ears, the expressions on Marcus's and Darius's faces changed. Marcus's smirk vanished so quickly that Adrian almost wondered if he had imagined it, while Darius turned his head toward the person behind Adrian with a look of genuine shock.

Neither of them spoke.

Their reactions were so strange that Adrian's attention shifted away from the confrontation.

What's wrong with them?

He slowly turned around.

The sight behind him nearly made him forget how to breathe.

A beautiful young woman stood a short distance away, her blonde hair falling neatly around her shoulders and her ocean-blue eyes fixed on him. Her features were delicate, with a cute face that might have made her seem approachable if not for the strict expression she wore. She stood straight, her posture confident, and there was something about the way she looked at the people around her that made it clear she wasn't accustomed to being questioned.

Adrian recognized her immediately.

Sandra.

The personal assistant of Alexa, the academy's most ruthless princess.

Even students who had never spoken to either woman knew their reputations. Alexa was feared for her ruthless nature, while Sandra was the person who carried out her instructions and stayed at her side. Neither name was one ordinary students wanted to hear directed at them.

But the moment Adrian's eyes settled on Sandra, another detail appeared before him.

SS-Rank.

His enhanced vision revealed the energy moving through her body. She wasn't merely a mage, nor was she simply a powerful awakened who preferred to stay behind the scenes. She was an SS-Rank mage and a combatant.

Adrian's throat tightened.

That's double trouble.

He had already encountered one SSS-Rank awakened pretending to be an ordinary nurse that afternoon. Now he was standing in front of the personal assistant of the academy's most ruthless princess, who happened to be an SS-Rank mage and combatant.

Is the entire academy trying to kill me today?

Sandra tilted her head slightly.

"Are you Adrian McCall?"

Adrian quickly turned his attention back to her face. The entire cafeteria had fallen silent, and the students who had been gossiping about Darius and Adrian moments earlier now watched Sandra with wide eyes.

Senior students rarely visited this cafeteria because it was reserved for juniors. Her appearance alone was enough to make everyone wonder what was happening, but the fact that she had come looking for Adrian made the situation even stranger.

Adrian forced himself to nod.

"Yes. I'm Adrian McCall."

"Good."

Sandra didn't ask another question. She simply turned around and started walking toward the exit.

"Follow me."

She didn't wait for his answer or even check whether he had moved.

  • Mysterious Nurse

The academy hospital was much quieter than Adrian expected. The moment the doctor finished checking the wounds, he ordered several scans, blood tests, and other examinations before Adrian was allowed to leave. Adrian sat on the edge of the examination bed while a machine passed over his body, its soft mechanical hum filling the room as images appeared on the screen beside the doctor. After several minutes, another nurse came in to take a blood sample, and then the doctor checked the results before looking at Adrian again."Why all these scans and tests?" Adrian finally asked, glancing at the equipment around him. "You already checked my wound, and it's completely healed."The doctor adjusted his glasses and looked at the scan in his hand. "Nothing important. We're just making sure you're still human and haven't mutated."Adrian raised an eyebrow."Mutated?""You've heard about it before, haven't you?" The doctor asked.Adrian nodded slowly. He had heard the rumors. Whenever a party en

  • Against All Odds

But when he reached it, he found out the passage was blocked. He remembers what had happened, and his expression changed. Darius and the others had sealed this path when they escaped, and he had no way to reach the exit from here."Surely there must be another way," he said to himself. Adrian’s golden eyes scanned the walls for an opening. Then he remembered the big hole he saw at this angle while the SS-Rank Goblin had dragged him through the secret passageway. His eyes traced the path the creature had taken, and he recalled how it had climbed upward before reaching the chamber when it first appeared. He looked toward the wall and finally spotted something unusual. A section looking like a solid wall was in fact a fake wall hiding in the surrounding rock. Adrian ran up to it and pushed it. The hidden section slid back, revealing a narrow passage going upwards. He didn't waste another second and started to climb, grabbing the rocks with both hands and pulling himself up.Another ma

  • The Awakening of the God Eyes

Adrian eyes quickly scanned the cave. His vision had changed, and the darkness no longer concealed anything from him. Blue crystals embedded in the walls illuminated the chamber, revealing bones scattered across the ground alongside broken weapons, ruined armour, communication devices, and other belongings that had clearly belonged to students who had entered the dungeon but never returned.Adrian scurried over to the remnants and started gathering what he could use. He collected bits of metal, broken boards, straps, anything that looked strong enough to hold together, trusting his new eyes to tell him what was useful and what was worthless junk. In a few minutes he had made a rough carriage that would aid him for his goal. It was ugly, but it didn't need to be pretty either.Adrian turned toward the pregnant goblin. "Come on." He moved beside her and carefully tried to lift her, but she didn't respond. After examining her face and checking her body again, he confirmed that she was st
