Enter: Elder Tatum

Today, the Pavilion was filled with countless students.

On the first floor, many were dumbfounded, staring at the strange scene before them.

"Let me go, this... Isn't this too smart?"

"Worthy of the famous bookworm. To read at such a speed is definitely a talent."

"I wipe! This is supposed to be a joke, right? How can anyone read this fast?"

"Pretending. The arrogant bastard has clearly lost his mind!"

...

Many whispered, gesturing towards the now-crazed youngster whom many recognized.

The 16-year-old Senior Ji Feng!

They watched him move from shelf to shelf, column to column, until he finally took off after glancing at his watch.

'...'

Blink. Blink.

Elder Tatum looked to the sky, wondering whether to advise the youngster or not. Failing the examination isn't the end of the world.

He wasn't a nosy person, but seeing such a talent fall into such a crazed state was indeed troubling.

"Student Ji."

"Ah-" Ji Feng was taken aback by the sudden appearance of the bald, elderly man in deep green robes.

Though the man looked middle-aged, the man was well over a hundred.

Ji Feng recognized the man.

"Elder Tatum." Ji Feng cupped his hands and gave a humble bow.

"Hmmm... Student Ji, I see you've come as usual to refresh your knowledge?"

Ji Feng nodded. "Yes, Elder. After taking the exam, he felt it only right to visit the Pavilion."

"Hmmm... That's natural. After taking the-... Wait! Did you just say you took the examination?!!!"

What??!!

Tatum's shocked bellowing caused many's jaws to drop.

F***!

How can that be? Didn't they see him appear here 30 minutes after the first exam officially began?

If Ji Feng knew their thoughts, he would proudly pump his chest.

'It's because I am a genius!'... Would be his master.

Tatum stared at him with an unbelievable expression.

Could it be that his old ears weren't picking up words anymore?

Now it was his turn to look crazed.

"You! You! You!~"

Tatum stuttered on his words, too speechless to think further.

And without noticing it, he had already placed his hands on Ji Feng's shoulders, wanting to shake the boy's words out of his mouth for confirmation.

"Did you really take the first exam?"

"Nonsense! If I didn't take the exam, would he be out and about like this?"

Ji Feng gazed at Elder Tatum, wondering if some screws in his head were loose. How can such a dignified leader ask such an obvious question?

"..."

Tch!

Elder Tatum's lips twitched. 'Junior, you're quite honest.'

Never in his life had anyone weaker than him retorted back in this manner.

Many would be overly cautious when speaking to him. And even the youngster acted the same in the past.

So what happened in just a few short days?

Why did he feel that the youngster's courage had grown into that of tigers?

Tatum looked at his twitching hands, feeling the urge to throw Ji Feng out!!

What was more annoying was that the beat stared at him as though it was he who had something wrong with his brain.

In the end, Tatum said a calming mantra in his best while forcing a stiff 'natural' expression on his face.

"Student Ji... You misunderstand. I was only amazed by your talent, finishing your first exam that quick. Look, others weren't done when he finished too, right?"

Ji Feng nodded with a blooming smile the more Tatum praised him. "Hahahaha~... Elder Tatum, that's for sure. My talents are unquestionable! But you know... You can't praise me in front of my peers, or it will hurt their tender egos. After all, who can compare with me in terms of being a genius?"

"..."

....

5 minutes had passed since the famous Ji Feng had left the Pavillion, yet many were still in a daze by all that transpired.

Let's not talk about the famous bookworm's pretentious ability to read that fast.

No...

Many were more engulfed with what they heard about the senior compared to them seeing and hearing him in the flesh.

... How to say it?...

They only had one word to describe their senior.

Shameless!!!

What is humility? That word doesn't exist in their senior's vocabulary.

They had never seen someone so brazenly praise himself to the stars!

Erm... Could they also say this was a talent?

The moment he was praised, their senior's expression blossomed so much that they thought they saw invisible angel wings taking him away.

Of course, another interesting bit of information they picked out was that their senior had taken the 1st examination?

This... This...

He wouldn't have written rubbish in there, right?

Many thought it should be so. After all, who can finish the famous examinations in such a short amount of time?

(-_-)

Elder Tatum stared at the door, with no one knowing what he thought.

Many thought he too was in a daze from their senior's homelessness, while others thought he didn't take the ordeal in mind, feeling Ji Feng's matters unworthy to occupy a space in his brain.

And of course, some only thought he was livid by how Ji Feng conversed with him.

In just these few moments, many had made up over 15 ideas on what was going on inside his head.

But all these were just their speculations.

Whoosh!

In a flash, Elder Tatum vanished, appearing in a hidden, private space in the Pavillion.

"Master!" Someone greeted him the moment he appeared.

"Hmm," Tatum hummed with an expressionless face. "Go supervise matters on the 1st floor. I'll be going to watch."

Eh? To watch?

His disciple stared at him, confused, baffled, but made no comments.

"As you wish, master."

For the 2nd and 3rd Alliance examinations, teachers and elders from the academy would sit about and watch the Final year students take the examinations since they weren't written ones.

Earlier, his master said he wasn't interested in watching. So what could've made him change his mind?
