Crazy From Failure?

Stepping into the massive Pavilion, Ji Feng felt an explosion go off in his mind.

Even though he had inherited the memory of his predecessor and knew what to expect, seeing the real thing was a different matter on its own.

'So big.' He murdered in a blissful daze.

Towering ceilings warped with space formations, books of all sorts on strange and peculiar-looking shelves, hallways of books that winded in various directions, and a strange stairway shrouded with cloudy steps leading to the next floor up.

'What a magnificent library. It was even harder to believe that this pavilion was considered a small one in all the many planets within the alliance... Impressive.'

Already, Ji Feng liked this world very much.

Where to begin?

Ji Feng frowned, massaging his chin thoughtfully. 'Although I have access to the upper floors, it's best to cement my foundation first.'

This was his final examination, meaning this was his last year in this academy. In other words, he wasn't a newbie who could only stay on the first floor.

One's cultivation strength would give them access to higher floors. This was the requirement to move upwards.

Bottom line, strength was everything.

And if it were many who came into this strange planet, they would've headed up to the highest floors to find the strongest books ever.

But for Ji Feng, his thoughts were different.

'Hmm... Even though my predecessor was indeed a smart man, who's to say he didn't bypass some vital pieces of information from his many reads?'

Ji Feng wasn't discrediting the original owner.

The original owner of 16 years old couldn't have read the thousands and thousands of books in the pavilion within his short life span.

But unlike the original owner, Ji Feng's reading speed was far faster. And coupled with the boost from the system, Ji Feng was looking forward to absorbing all knowledge in the Pavillion.

[Host, this is your chance to test and upgrade the All-seeing eyes!]

'Hmm... I know... We'll start from the basics, then.'

With that, he headed to the first row of books.

But unbeknownst to him, he was already training a lot of attention.

.

"Hey, isn't that the famous Ji Feng? This is his last year. And yet, he isn't writing the big Pre-Master exam? Is he nuts?!"

"Crazy! Crazy! Could it be that he willingly chose to sit it out?"

"Who knows..."

"Hmph! Serves him right! All the time, he has been feeling high and mighty because of his fame. Star-pupil this, star-pupil that! Everywhere you go, you hear this name!"

"That's right. This will teach him a lesson. So next time, he'll be low-key."

"Yeah!"

Many smiled in contempt seeing him 'fail.'

Plus, he's not even

Elder Tatum opened his eyes, secretly glancing at Ji Feng.

'It looks like the boy had shown up late for the exam and was denied access into the hall… Pity.’

Tatum was one of the 3 elders in charge of all matters involving the Pavillion's 1st floor.

You can always spot either himself or the other 2 elders on the first floor no matter when one comes.

Tatum shook his head in deep sigh.

Like many, he too concluded that Ji Feng had already failed this year's exam.

After all, looking at the time, it was just barely 30 minutes.

30 minutes! Who could pass the exam in such a short time?

No matter how much of a genius he was, it was impossible!  So there was no point in partaking in the other examinations. Just wait for next year to try again.

'At least he has the right attitude, not feeling distressed for himself.' Tatum thought.

What made a man or broke a man was his attitude toward progress.

If you fall, stand up once more rather than welling up in self-pity.

Tatum was about to praise Ji Feng some more in his heart. But what happened next caused him to almost like blood in rage.

'Good boy. It's never too late to try again later. Good boy... Good---'

Pfff!!

Elder Tatum almost cursed loudly, seeing Ji Feng's actions.

What the hell was he doing? Has the bit suddenly grown crazy from failure?

Flip. Flip. Flip. Flip.

Ji Feng held a book and flipped through the pages in a blink of an eye.

With his Super Eidetic powers, he read things 20 times faster!

And from onlookers' perspective, it looked like he was only flipping the pages crazily.

How can one read a book like this? Impossible!

Who knew missing the first exam would break the genius?

.

The manuals in Ji Feng's hands were 7~30 pages long, targeting particular topics and skills, be them in cultivation, medicine, and many other topics. They were foundational books.

And in a matter of seconds, he repeated his same actions, picking a pick, flipping it, and putting it back.

1, 2, 3,...10... 340.

In no time, he had finished going through a single bookshelf.

'So exciting!'

After comprehending the information in his brain, Ji Feng quickly noticed that whenever he thoroughly read and absorbed the contents of each book, improved methods would also show up in his mind.

[Host, this is because your All-seeing eyes can correct any skill. But bear in mind that the host is still at Lv 1. So what can be repaired will not be as great as what you can correct at higher Levels.]

'So that's how it is...'

Ji Feng understood the system's capabilities more and more.

Looking at his floating transparent interface, he quickly clicked on his attributes.

[Skills:

Super Eidetic Mind (Lv1): Can read and absorb knowledge 20 times faster. Conditions for upgrade: 340/1000 read books.

All Seeing Eyes (Lv 1) As a teacher, you must guide your pupils. With All-seeing eyes, the host can correct and improve information by 10%. Conditions for upgrade: Correct and guide 5 students, masters, or teachers all within your registered Teaching Academy.]

Hmmm...

Ju Feng nodded in understanding.

He needed to pass this exam and get hired in any academy as a No-rank to starting Master teacher.

Of course, he wasn't worried about this since the top scorer would get sent out of this 9th-Tier region, sending him to one of the big academies in the 8th-Tier regions.

This sort of opportunity was something people could kill for!

Ji Feng

Anyway, his future after being a top scorer was set.

For now, his focus was on upgrading his super Eidetic Mind.

[340/1000]

'I have 4 more hours before the next exam begins. By then, he should've read way more than 1000 books!'

Ji Feng's eyes shone brightly. 'Before leaving this city, I must absorb everything in the Pavillion!'
