With his back to the pile of rocks that had almost taken Mike, Jack turned away from the section that had crumbled.

His eyes ached from the dust that was still hanging in the air.

Water rose fast around his boots, cold and dark from Darius's sabotage.

After taking a final glance at Mike, he proceeded on his own.

His flashlight cut a thin path through the dark. The beam shook a little in his hand.

Sweat trickled down his cheek like a tear, mingled with dirt on his scar.

Jack's breaths came short, worried about Mike pushing him aside from the explosion.

He didn't have time to wait for the entire team, so he went alone first.

The water climbed to his knees, then his waist. He swam when he had to, his arms cutting through floating debris.

The cold made his muscles burn, but he didn't slow down.

The Legion ropes splashed down from above openings behind him.

The soldiers dropped in, water spraying around them.

They spread out quickly, their guns ready.

Jack pointed directions, his voice steady over the roar of rising water.

Suddenly a submerged guard grabbed his ankle underneath the water.

Jack punched down hard into the water.

The man let go, bubbles rising fast on the water.

Jack freed a trapped worker on the water nearby, he pushed him toward the ropes with one arm.

The worker gasped for air at the surface. Jack's own lungs burned from holding breath for too long.

He came up quickly, his hair dripping water before diving back into the water.

Overhead, beams groaned, ready to drop at any moment.

Victor, who was with one of the radios, called again. His voice came hoarse, full of regret.

"To the side entrance, Jack. It was one of my old land deals. Use it please."

Jack listened while swimming. Victor's words shook with guilt.

He sounded like a broken man. Jack hung up without appreciating him, the small crack in his armor fueling the fight.

He took the side path Victor said. It was narrow and low.

The water was lower there. Jack moved faster, driving by hope.

Suddenly a knife came under the water. It was a merc slashing from the shadows.

Jack twisted away, knife brushing his side. He grabbed the merc wrist and pulled hard.

The merc hit the tunnel wall. Jack kicked off his mask and bubbles exploded.

The man floated limp.

Jack surfaced, gasping. His side stung.

Beams roared as they fell behind him. The water rose.

Emily's voice came over the radio from the surface. She was in charge of the cameras

Her words stayed steady and clear. But fear hid underneath, in the small pauses.

Jack heard the fear. He pushed harder through the water.

Beams collapsed close to him. Just in time, he dove beneath one, rocks grazing his back.

On the other hand, some Legion soldiers finally pulled Mike out from the main collapse area.

He gasped awake on the stretcher. His leg twisted badly, face pale.

The soldiers carried him to safety. Mike looked weak but alive.

Jack arrived just in time, his heart filled with relief.

Mike whispered close. "Lieutenant is the mole, boss. I heard him before the rocks collapsed."

Jack's eyes hardened like steel. He turned to the team around.

His heart broke with trust once more.

The name hit harder than anything.

He turned to leave, commanding few of the soldiers to look after Mike while the rest followed him.

They found the lieutenant in a flooded chamber. Water lapped at their boots.

He stood with two men, their guns pointed. His face turned white when he saw Jack

Jack entered slowly. His gun dripped with water.

The lieutenant smiled nervously at first. Then he quickly begged for mercy.

Jack grabbed the front of his shirt. The man's eyes filled with tears swiftly

His voice broke as he revealed everything. “Darius paid for my sick family in exchange for the old war secrets. I had no choice, I was desperate, Please understand.”

But Jack refused to listen to his plea, he broke his fingers one by one.

The lieutenant screamed loudly in the chamber. Water echoed the sound back.

His men dropped guns and backed away.

Jack killed him clean with one shot to the head.

The body drifted face down.

No mercy for betrayal.

Finally, Jack and the Legion soldiers emerged from the tunnels. Fresh air hit their faces.

In the distance, city lights shone brightly. Jack's chest rose and fell as he took a deep breath.

Mike was still waiting on a stretcher. His leg wrapped tight now.

He looked weak but gave a small smile. Jack nodded, relief clear in his eyes.

Emily ran up from a waiting car. Her dress wet from earlier rain.

She looked at Jack with worry. Her green eyes searched his face. But Jack ignored her.

Suddenly, Jack spotted Darius's yacht fleeing the Hudson River.

He pointed sharp and clear. “Chase that boat. Now."

The Legion ran to their boat. The engine roared loudly. Waves crashing against the sides.

Jack jumped in, gripping the rail tight.

Just as Jack was gone, a sniper's bullet shattered the window where Emily was. Glass broke with a loud crash.

Her scream cut the radio line sharp. "Jack, someone's here!"

Jack's blood turned cold in his veins. He looked across the water at the yacht.

Darius was plainly standing on deck, grinning broadly in the moonlight.

The chase began at full speed. Water sprayed high over the boat.

Jack's scar burned hot with anger.

Emily was in danger again.

From the deck of the yacht, Darius mockingly waved.

Over the waves, his chuckle echoed. A new trap waited ahead.

Jack pushed the boat faster. His face hard like stone.

The city blurred on both sides. The night held its breath tight.

Darius's yacht pulled away faster. A bigger game is playing now.

Jack's eyes become slitted. He would not lose this time.
