Ethan was overwhelmed by a swirl of emotions as he rushed toward Miracle Hospital. If the call had truly come from his daughter, it meant Lauren had been pregnant before he left. His eyes widened in shock as the truth sank in.

So... Lauren had been enduring mistreatment and harsh criticism while being pregnant? Did I really leave a pregnant woman all alone? He couldn't imagine all what she would have gone through.

A sense of suffocation filled Ethan as his breathing became strained. The guilt weighed on him so heavily that he didn’t even realize when a tear fell down his cheek.

He had been so selfish, so consumed by his own needs. While the Walkers might not have killed Lauren, he knew they could have mistreated her to the point where she might wish she were dead.

On top of that, her mother seemed to care nothing for her well-being. She was only interested in the Walker family's wealth. Lauren was treated like a servant, while Katherine her step sister was treated as the favored child.

Ethan regretted leaving. He should have faced the situation head-on or, at the very least, run away with Lauren. The pain his daughter was going through was unbearable, and he could feel it in her words.

"Faster!" he shouted, filled with fear.

All he could do now was hope that the worst hadn’t already happened to his wife and daughter.

Meanwhile, one of the bodyguards saw Maya holding her mother's phone. He snatched it from her hand and smashed it onto the floor, shattering the screen.

Maya quickly jumped from the bed and tried to grab the bodyguard’s hand, but it was too late—the phone was already destroyed.

She began to cry again, her sobs loud and desperate. “My daddy will come for you all, bad guys.”

The bodyguard, irritated by her words, slapped her roughly on the back. As he opened the door to leave, he found soldiers beating his colleagues. In a panic, he slammed the door shut and locked it.

Ethan, having just arrived at the door, kicked it open with a powerful bang.

When Ethan stepped inside, his face hardened with fury at what he saw. The bodyguard had Maya by the neck, and a cruel pin was holding her eyebrows and eyelashes together. Ethan’s heart broke as he saw the pain the little girl was enduring.

“Daddy…” Maya whispered weakly, her face twisted in pain. Yet, she managed to force a small smile, relieved to see her father.

Ethan’s heart ached at the sight of her. He moved carefully toward the bodyguard, his anger growing with every step.

“Stay where you are! Or I’ll strangle her to death!” the bodyguard threatened.

Ethan stopped in his tracks and smiled at the bodyguard, his expression dark and mysterious. The bodyguard shuddered, fear creeping in. He knew he had no chance against Ethan, but he was hoping to use Maya as leverage. But what was with this calm, confident smile? Wasn’t Ethan supposed to be afraid?

The bodyguard’s thoughts were interrupted when he felt a cold metal pressed to the back of his head.

“Drop the girl now, or you’re dead,” Raymond said coldly.

The bodyguard quickly released Maya and raised his hands behind his headin surrender. He was terrified. He had no idea how Raymond had managed to get behind him so quickly. It was as though he had appeared out of nowhere.

Ethan scooped Maya up and hurried out of the room.

“Don’t kill him yet,I still need him to find Lauren” Ethan said to Raymond, who immediately knocked the bodyguard unconscious with a swift blow to the head.

Ethan quickly contacted the world-renowned Dr. Stephen Jos. Dr. Jos was known for his miraculous healing abilities, and it was said that none of his patients had ever died under his care. He had even treated the president of Valeria, who had been nearly killed in a plane crash.

Meanwhile, the Henry family, who had a long lineage in medicine, was thrilled to hear of Dr. Jos’s arrival. They knew that Dr. Jos only treated the most important figures, like the president, and wondered who could possibly have the privilege of calling him to Valeria.

Pa Henry, the elderly patriarch of the Henry family, quickly instructed his son, James Henry, to welcome Dr. Jos at the airport. If they couldn’t figure out who the doctor was treating, they planned to try and ingratiate themselves with him for future benefits.

When James arrived at the airport, he rushed to greet Dr. Jos, but the doctor ignored him, coldly brushing him off.

“Who are you?” Dr. Jos asked curtly.

James, feeling embarrassed but determined not to offend such an important figure, smiled and introduced himself.

“I am James Henry, the Director of Purity Hospital, the largest and most prestigious hospital in Valeria,” he said with smiles all over his face, extending his hand proudly for a handshake.

"Don’t you realize how powerful the Awaya power is?" There was an edge of curiosity in his tone, as though he genuinely could not understand how the Demon Lord had underestimated him.The Demon Lord, towering and cloaked in an aura of shadow, narrowed his crimson eyes at Ethan. Yet, no matter how many times he tried, the lock remained stubbornly unyielding. His jaw clenched as the familiar beep of rejection echoed through the narrow hallway, further stoking his annoyance.Meanwhile, in the underground room, Lauren was busy plaiting Maya’s hair. • The Fight

At the early hours of the third day, the soldiers stationed at the Spring Estate began to move out in disciplined formations, their armor clinking softly as they departed. The once-bustling estate, filled with vigilant warriors, now seemed quieter, more desolate, as their numbers thinned. The two opposing forces—Ethan's men and the army of the Demon Lord—had somehow communicated and reached an agreement to settle their conflict in an open space deep within Valeria’s forest. It was an isolated location, hidden so far within the wilderness that not even the most daring tourist would think to venture there. It was the perfect place for a battle—far from prying eyes and innocent bystanders.Despite the mass departure, Ethan did not leave the estate entirely unguarded. He had given strict orders for a handful of his most trusted soldiers to remain behind. Their sole mission was to protect his wife, Lauren, and their young daughter, Maya. His crimson eyes lingered on the jagged hole in the ceiling where Raymond had been lurking moments before. The room’s heavy, oppressive silence made the flickering torchlight feel colder, as though the very air shuddered under his presence.Without turning, he spoke—his voice smooth, deliberate, and void of any concern. “You don’t need to pursue him,” he said, as though the matter had already been decided. “I’ve already planted something in him… something that will make our mission easier in two days time.”Don B frowned slightly, though he was careful to keep his head bowed in submission. His master’s words were cryptic, but he kn
