Lieutenant Alex remained hopeful as he tried to move his legs, focusing intently.

His look of hope faded into one of sadness, then a soft smile.

“It’s no good… what did I expect…” Lieutenant Alex’s eyes watered for a bit, but quickly went back to normal. “Thanks anyways, it did return a little feeling.” He thanked Carl Gerald almost immediately.

As Lieutenant Alex grabbed the sides of his wheelchair in an attempt to leave, Carl Gerald stopped him.

“Wait for a bit,” He grabbed his wheelchair firmly. “Don’t give up hope yet.”

Carl Gerald knelt down on his left knee, in his right hand was a bandage roll.

“G-general?!” Lieutenant Alex was surprised as his superior knelt before him. He grabbed the sides of his wheelchair even firmer, ready to roll away at an opportunity.

“General Carl…” Debra Zach’s face twisted into disdain. It was clear she didn’t like what was happening. A man of great foundations kneeling to a subordinate.

“Both of you calm down,” Carl Gerald grabbed the foot of Lieut

The situation was intense and palpable, before anyone could respond, Lord Lex’s phone buzzed in his pocket. He pulled it out, glanced at the screen, and his expression shifted—something between irritation and urgency. “It’s Mr Jasper,” he said curtly. “One of my allies. I need to take this.” His voice was laced with a mixture of confusion and inconvenience. He stepped away, speaking in low tones into the phone. The others watched him, their faces were etched in bewilderment and curiosity.Martinez’s muffled sobs and the steady ticking of the bomb filled the silence. Debra Zachs stared at Lord Lex, her mind clearly working despite her restraints. After a brief conversation, Lord Lex hung up and turned back to the group. “I have to go. Something’s come up at the mansion.”“Mr Jasper says there’s movement—could be Carl Gerald’s men, could be something else. I’m not waiting to find out.”Lara Peterson's eyes widened. “You’re leaving? Now? We’re in the middle of—”“I’m not asking for permi

  • Chapter 186:

Doctor Marvin frowned, his voice was low. “Moving now is risky. We’ve got Debra Zachs already, Martinez, and a bomb that’s ticking.”“How the heck are we even supposed to start thinking about this whole planning and moving?”“How do we start transporting all that without drawing attention? It’s a logistical nightmare.”“It's more than a logical nightmare, we just can't afford to take that chance.” Doctor Marvin's voice was laced with a mix of determination and fear.“Then figure it out!” Lara Peterson immediately snapped. “You’re supposed to be the brains here, Doctor Marvin. Start acting like it.”“You are really not supposed to say things like this at the moment.”Before anyone could respond, a loud cough came from the corner of the room. Lord Lex, who had been quietly observing from a wooden chair, stood up, his face a bit laced with at the moment. His suit looked out of place in the dimly lit warehouse, but his presence carried attention. He adjusted his black suit and spoke, h

  • Chapter 185:

Debra Zachs, despite the pain in her jaw, let out a low chuckle from her corner. “You’re all falling apart already. Look at you, panicking like rats in a trap. General Carl Gerald’s probably closing in as we speak.”“I told you, all of you would definitely be paying the price for your insolence soon!”“This is just the beginning of your pain, all of you will wish you hadn't adopted me after General Carl Gerald is done with all of you posers!” Debra Zachs said her voice was laced with a mixture of anger and venom.“Shut up!” Lara Peterson immediately snapped, storming over to Debra Zachs. She raised her hand as if to strike again but stopped herself, breathing heavily.“You don’t get to talk. Not after what you and your precious General did to Clyde Lex.”Debra Zachs eyes narrowed, her voice steady despite the blood on her lip. “Clyde Lex was a thug, just like his father. General Carl Gerald did what he had to do.”“Clyde Lex had his sister, Sara Gerald adopted and sent his stupid go

They called Mr. Eliot, but he didn’t pick up. Lara Peterson continued pacing around in shock and bewilderment. The phone rang and rang, each unanswered tone echoing in the dim and almost empty warehouse.Lara Peterson, Doctor Marvin, Nurse Angela, and Nurse Sabrina exchanged uneasy glances. Their earlier confidence was starting to crack so badly, and the weight of the situation pressed down on them.Debra Zachs, chained to the wall, watched with a mix of defiance and pain, her jaw bruised from Lara Peterson's earlier punch.Little Martinez, still bound to the chair with the ticking bomb strapped to his chest, whimpered through the duct tape over his mouth.Tears threatened to well down his eyes but he was able to withhold it even for a little boy.The red numbers on the bomb blinked steadily: 02:47:12… 02:47:11…Lara Peterson paced, her shoes clacking against the concrete floor. “Mr Eliot’’s not answering. Why isn’t he answering?” Her voice was sharp, barely hiding the panic creepi

Doctor Marvin, Nurse Sabrina, Nurse Angela and Lara Peterson all raised imaginary glasses, toasting their success. The conversation flowed easily, like old friends recounting a fun night out instead of a major heist.Nurse Angela leaned forward. “What about the other patients? We left them scrambling, but Debra Zachs was the prize.”“Easy adoption—fake papers saying she was being transferred to a new facility. They won't know she's with us until it's too late.” Nurse Angela's voice was laced with a mixture of happiness and success for their mission.Nurse Sabrina giggled. “And the destruction? I loved setting those charges. Boom! Lights out for their secret health unit.”Doctor Marvin smirked. “It was all too easy. Those elite divisions aren't as elite as they think.”“One mole like me, and the whole thing falls apart.” Doctor Marvin added as he laughed out.Lara Peterson agreed. “That'll teach Carl Gerald. He's probably tearing his hair out right now, wondering how we pulled it off.”

  • Chapter 182:

“We wouldn't have stood a chance without Doctor Marvin.”Nurse Sabrina said, her voice laced with awe as she leaned against the cold warehouse wall. She had just crossed her arms, a sly smile creeping across her face. Doctor Marvin chuckled, adjusting his white coat that was now stained with dirt from their quick getaway.“Oh, come on, ladies. It wasn't that hard. I mean, those Elite Divisions guys think they're so smart with their secret health facility, but all it took was a little inside help.”“I walked right in, acted like I belonged, and boom—access granted.”“That was it, those imbeciles never saw me coming at…all!” Doctor Marvin said as he laughed out loud.Nurse Angela nodded, her eyes glinted with excitement. She was sitting on an old crate, picking at her nails like this was just another day at the office. “You're right, Doctor Marvin, remember how we planned it? You got yourself hired there months ago, feeding us all the intel.”“The security codes, the shift changes, e
