Daniel took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down. He knew that his nightmare was just that, a nightmare. But the memory of Eric's threats still haunted him.

He glanced at the clock on the wall and saw that it was almost midnight. He wondered if Samira had been there the whole time, watching over him. He didn't want to wake her, but he also didn't want to be alone with his thoughts.

"Samira," he whispered, trying not to startle her. "Are you awake?"

Samira stirred and opened her eyes. "Yeah, I'm here," she said, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. "What's wrong?"

"It's nothing," Daniel said, trying to sound casual. "Just had a bad dream."

Samira looked at him for a moment, as if she could tell he was lying. But she didn't press the issue. "Do you want to talk about it?" she asked, offering him a sympathetic smile.

Daniel shook his head. "No, it's okay," he said. "I just need to distract myself. Maybe we can watch a movie or something?"

Samira smiled and nodded. "Sure," she said
