The air suddenly became hazardous as Ivan found it hard to breathe, choking on every single attempt to draw air into his lungs. He froze, thinking of a plausible explanation to tell her that would be good enough for her to believe.

He stared at her, only to notice that she wasn't staring at him but at Mia with a look that depicted utmost displeasure. "Tara," he called out to her, her eyes finally landing on him again. "Hi, what are you actually doing here? Should you not be on the school's vacation trip?"

"I think I should be the one asking you that question. But since you asked first, I will give you an answer. As you know, it is mandatory for every student but definitely not for me. I didn't feel like being there but felt like coming to the world's best shopping complex where real diamonds and gold are actually sold so, here I am." She explained with a smile.

    Mr Shay felt grateful as his plane finally landed. He was never a man who enjoyed flights, he preferred to travel by road for a trip or even by water which he extremely detested. But he would be more than happy to travel by water than to ever step foot in a plane. Without wasting time, he hurried out of the plane with the maids assigned to him. They all helped him with his bags and loads as they walked into the airport. He noticed his son standing not too far from him, waiting for his arrival. He had not expected his son to be around for his arrival since Ivan said he had a white collar job. But he was very pleased to see him after his long trip.     Ivan dressed up and went down for breakfast. On arriving at the dining table, LD was dressed up all nice and cutely and she wore a big smile on her face.She was dressed in a cute pink dress and her Goldie locks hair was made into two ponytails. Of all the beautiful accessories on her, her smile was the most beautiful. She was so beautiful that Ivan couldn't help the smile that worked up his face. “Well look at my beautiful girl,” he said as he picked her up from the ground and gave her a twirl.Her happy giggles filled the room and magically lifted the spirits of everyone sitting at the table.     The sun rose in the blue sky and spread its ray down on Ivan's face. Anticipation had kept him awake all night long, all he could do was think about his dad and his return that day. When his dad returned, he would really get answers about everything he wanted to know. Well hopefully that was. Would his dad really remember much? It had been decades ago, would his memory still be intact? That much worried him and kept him awake all night. His mother was gone and sadly before he could ask or even tell her anything. Not even a final goodbye. The memories of his mother lying lifelessly in her bed was to hunt him for a very long time. He never even knew when she was already falling sick, she seemed so healthy that he didn't even believe it at first when he found her in her bed.     They all went inside and sat at the dining table. The maids surrounded them and began serving slices of pies. LD climbed down from her seat that was next to her grandmother. “Daddy!” She wailed as she hurried to Ivan. Ivan immediately caught her in his arms and lifted her into his lap. “What's wrong? Is there something bothering you?” She nodded her head but said nothing. They all watched her in fear. Neither of them understood what was wrong with her to make her almost tear up and worry and anxiety swallowed them up as they waited for her to confess to her father. “Go ahead Darling, you can tell me anything.” Ivan said in a soft tone. Janet was already on her feet and she hurried to the other side of Ivan's chair where she could meet with LD's gaze. Placing her hand on her husband's thighs, she crouched down next to him. LD still remained silent in her father's lap with her arms wrapped around his neck.“Here, come on, whisper it in my ear.” Ivan leaned in closer to her with h

    The car pulled up at the front space of the mansion and their driver hurried down to open the door for them. Three smiling faces stood close to a fountain, standing impatiently for Ivan and his wife to arrive. The driver opened the door but no one got out. Alfred wondered what was keeping them but he declined when Mrs Banks said to go to them instead. He decided they would just wait for them to join them. “We'll be a minute.” Ivan said to his driver and the handsome young man nodded his head and gently slammed the door back. “Is there… is there a problem?” Mrs Banks asked again but Alfred's decision to wait behind still stood. “They'll come out eventually, let's just wait and see what is going on first.” Alfred responded in a respectful manner and Mrs Banks nodded her head. Mr Banks didn't bother to protest or even utter a word. He knew that if he were to speak, he would have to break his perfect smile and he worried he would not be able to get a smile as perfect as that again.
