It was like his whole world came crashing right before him. Everything that he had been told was a lie.
But the more he tried to figure things out in his head, it only made him get even more confused than he was already.
He had always been told that his father was dead. How come he was now appearing from thin air?
Lut opened his mouth to speak but for quite a while, he was failed by words. Mr. James could already see the expression that was laced all over his face and he stepped forward towards him.
Lut could already feel his slight touch but he didn't budge, continuing to stare at the vast space that was right before him.
"Don't worry son. I am going to explain everything to you." He said.
Even though it had not been done willingly, even Lut didn't realize that he had already nodded his head.
Mr. James could already feel the throbbing of his own heart.
This wasn't going to be easy for the both of them but they had to go through it once and for all if they wanted to bond together like father and son.
"It all began three years after my life and due to this reason, I had to send your mother together with you right after you were born so that you would not be entangled in this.
But this is where I made my biggest mistake. Instead of getting you out of trouble. I only succeeded in getting you into it.
On your way out of the city, I heard that your mother was attacked and she died instantly. While Anna here, who I would forever be grateful to, was able to save you." He explained everything that had happened that night.
The words seemed to run through Lut's head like a cold chilling sensation running through his spine.
He turned around towards his father. But after thinking about it for quite a while, his anger seemed to be returned almost in an instant.
Then why didn't you search for me, Father? You abandoned me to the streets so that I would rot.
You allowed us to suffer gravely. Do you realize the pain that I had been made to go through? The suffering and all along.
You saved me right? Take back the kidney. It would rather be for me to be dead than be saved by someone as cruel as you are." He blotted out.
In an instant, Lut had forgotten that he was still sick. He tried to get up from the bed but fell right back down.
His heart was racing fast and heavy at the same time.
There were tears in Anna's eyes as she watched the child that she had taken care of growing so much.
Mr. Henry stepped forward towards Lut and touched him slightly with his hands, a torrent of energy seemed to run down his body.
"I understand Lut. You have every reason to be angry with me but I did search for you. But it was confirmed by the authorities that you were dead already.
I made sure that the people who were responsible for your supposed death were caught and jailed.
And right from that day, I have been thinking about my lovely wife and you that I haven't gotten married." He responded.
Lut's rising emotions suddenly crashed down. The racing off of my heart is going on even faster.
But there was a piece that was yet to be put in place. That was making something seem so wrong even though his story seemed credible.
With an air of curiosity in his tone, he finally went ahead to inquire.
"But father. How were you able to find me?" He inquired with a sense of respect right in his voice.
Seeing how his son spoke and how intelligent he had now become, a smile formed on his face and he ran his hands through his air before he said.
"The doctor at the free hospital is one of my closest friends. He noticed the resemblance between us and our unique family.
So I had to investigate. And no mistake was made since all the necessary tests had been done." He replied with a smile on his face.
But then, he quickly pushed the smile away from his face, putting up a more serious font seeing that his face was expressionless..
"I'm sorry that I didn't take your permission and I am also sorry that I wasn't able to help you through all the ordeals." He added once again.
This jerked Lut off from his thoughts. He wasn't really angry as his father thought. Rather he was stunned.
Made to believe all his life that he was nothing other than a useless orphan, finding his father with the brick of what he would call his last breath was the last thing that he had thought of.
But it looked like he had been given the second chance that he had been looking for and he promised that he wasn't going to be as stupid as he was the last time.
"You don't need to apologize Dad. I was angry. And I am sorry for my outburst." There was a strand of tear in his eyes and his voice broke away.
Mr. James stepped forward towards him and hugged him tightly which he didn't realize when a strand of it escaped from his eyes.
He beckoned Mia who also Joined them in the hug.
"I have adopted Mia too as my child so that we are going to be siblings as it has always been. He said with a smile on his face after which he pulled away from him.
The family had a wonderful reunion but with a cough, Mr. James stepped forward and said.
"And that remains me. I got the details of the girl that you did the transplant for and I learned that she is your girlfriend so I sent her a few gifts." He said.
The words got them petrified which was followed by a loud exclamation that echoed throughout the hall.
"What?" They exclaimed, getting Mr. confused.
"What had he done wrong?" He thought in his head.

News channels and journalists would be there. His life had changed out of the blue, and Lutenant James didn't know how to feel.“A penny for your thoughts?”Aurora joined him on the balcony. The fact that they had worked for weeks on end but even now she could barely look at him in the face without reddening completely was something that baffled him.He loved it though.“I just can't believe it. I did it. I pulled it off.”“From the first day you walked through the doors of your father's company, I kn

“I wish I could explain now. But I'm running late.”He retrieved his phone from his pocket, stared at the screen for a few seconds, then began to make his way as hurriedly as possible out of the hall.“Richard! Richard! We have a child together. Is this the married life we talked about?”She held onto his shirt, unable to believe that he would actually abandon her without an explanation. He shoved her, shaking his head in frustration.“I'll call you, I promise. I'll call you.”Her body racking with sobs, Ariel turned to the stage as Lutenant announced that the dinner was officially open.Even in the midst of numerous faces and people, she caught his eyes on her this time around. A new dawn
Ariel felt as if she had taken a massive blow to her gut.She doubled over, the lights from the cameras suddenly blurring her vision. Was this really happening? Was Lutenant James, the same man she had rejected for Richard, now the supreme ruler? It was at that moment that Ariel recognized the beautiful woman who had introduced him onto the stage. It was the same woman she had seen at the restaurant with him a few days ago.“Before I say anything,” Lutenant’s voice boomed across the hall. It wasn't the voice of a loser. It was the voice of a confident man.“Before I say anything, I want to personally thank each and everyone of you for honouring the invitations my company sent out. I know that some of you don't want to be here, and for those of you who took out time from your busy schedule to even come down here, I can't thank you less.”For a moment, Ariel felt his eyes rest on her table, and her heart pounded in terror.A thousand questions plagued her mind.Had he invited her person
The unmasking
Ariel arrived at the corporation after an Uber dropped her off, hoping she looked her best.Being pregnant had suddenly made her overly conscious of her appearance. Having a child was a good thing, but Ariel wasn't sure she was ready for the changes her poor body was about to undergo. The parking lot housed a lot of cars, and it made her wonder if she wasn't the only one who had received the strange invite.Grabbing her phone from the purse slung over her shoulder, she tried calling Richard again. When his number went into voicemail again, she swore under her breath.Where was he this time and why wasn't he picking his calls? Was she actually ready to spend the rest of her life with this man?“Welcome to the James corporation, Ma'am. Tonight's dinner is strictly based on invitation. How are you?”“Very good, sir. I'm hoping tonight is a success. But here he was, about to take over the city. And he wasn't just going to take over, he was going to do it in style.“Thank you, Aurora. You can go now.
