Luts eyes parted open. He took a quick pick at his surroundings and noticed that he could not tell where he was.
He was somehow confused for quite a while. He was still looking around for quite a while, trying hard to figure out how he had gotten there in the first place.
Memories flooded through his head. Memories that he would never want to remember again and he took a larger gulp.
'Could it be that I am dead?' He asked himself in his mind.
'But this place isn't looking like heaven. Or was that also a lie?.' He thought once again, his head pacing through the outlines of the room where he found himself.
There was a machine making very annoying beeping sounds. The place looked quite expensive and extravagant too.
He tried to get up from the bed but then, a surge of pain welled up throughout his spine making him fall back to the bed.
It was at this bed that he noticed that he was at the hospital. But he wasn't even worried about himself, rather he was worried about his sister.
First, she had found out about the kidney transplant already, and apart from that, taking him to such a large facility, there was no way that they would be able to pay for it.
His heart raced faster regretting putting her in such a sister, especially for someone Like Ariel who wasn't even worth his time.
Soon enough, the noise that he had made while he was trying to get up from the bed had attracted attention.
The door soon parted open and her sister walked in. He was grateful to see that his sister was fine.
"I'm sorry sister for not being there for you and hiding everything away from you." He quickly apologized...
"You don't have to be a young master." She quickly responded with her head bowed. He didn't think too much about it until he eventually saw her bowing before him.
"What are you doing?" He inquired with knitted brows.
"I'm only paying homage to you young master." She replied and it dawned on him the way that she had been moving all this while..
Was she that angry?
He regretted every single thing now and wished that he never knew Ariel in the first place. Now his sister was treating him more like an outcast.
"I know that I have wronged your sister. I should have told you about it." But it wasn't looking like she was joking.
"You don't have to apologize to me young master." She responded by pulling backwards a little bit..
He put on the little baby look, one that was enough to melt her heart at any time and was sure she was going to give up with the acting pretty soon.
But rather, she was stiff right on the spot without a trace of emotion making his heart numb. More like a robot. The truth Washing over him like a bucket of icy water.
It wasn't a joke.
The words suddenly threw him off balance and his heart seemed to move right from its place.
"Young master!" The words resounded in his head multiple times
He pinched himself hard thinking that he was dreaming but the sight before him was so true. The racing of his heart shot up.
It was until this point that Lut noticed that something was wrong. When she first walked into the place, she was stiff.
And now she was referring to him as a young master? Multiple thoughts ran through his head for quite a while.
But soon enough, he threw the thoughts away from his head. It was a mistake and that could be the only explanation for it.
"Tell me that you are teasing me sis." He said with his heart shaking right in place.
"I won't dare young master." She said once again.
This time, it was no longer sounding like a joke since from the looks that were hovering on her face, she was looking really serious.
"I know I did something really bad but you should stop calling me that. Please." He said. His sister was the last person that he had in the world now.
"Mia, you should leave now. I want to have a few words with him." A voice came from the door and a man who was dressed in a classic suit walked right into the place.
And once again, she bowed before she went ahead to say.
"Oka master. I will do as you have said." She bowed once again before she left the hall.
For a while, Lut was confused as to what was going on around him. Could it be that he had hit his head so hard on the wall that he was beginning to see images in his head?
Using his sharp nails, he pinched himself hard until he was beginning to bleed. But it didn't matter to him. He only wanted the images that were before him to disappear.
The middle-aged man noticed what he was doing and quickly stepped on him.
"You should stop doing that Lut. It's time for you to know the truth." He said but his words weren't making him less confused than he was already.
What truth was he suddenly talking about?
Could it be that his sister had begged money from him and he had taken her in as his slave? If this was the case, he was never going to forgive himself.
He quickly reached Forward. If he had been able to fall on his knees and apologize, he would have done that quite a while ago.
"My sister has nothing to do with this. I am the one that got myself into trouble. If you need to take it out on anyone, it should be me. He added once again.
He was in so much panic that he didn't notice the smile that was hovering on the face of the man.
"I know what I am about to say is going to be more of a shock to you. But it would be better if you knew about it now, she is not your sister." The middle-aged man was finally able to muster up all the courage that he had in him and said.
At first, rumbles of shock ran through the spine of Lut and his lips were still far apart as he continued to stare at the space that was right before him.
Finally, he was able to get over the shocks and he soon burst out into laughter.
"Sis. Mia isn't my sister?" He laughed even harder.
But the man didn't seem like he was joking.
"I'm a serious lut." He said.
Lut was trying to be respectful, trying as much as he could to subdue the anger that was beginning to rise deep in the inside of him
This was the person that he had known all his life, right after the death of his mother and their Father left them. How would he say such a thing?
"I am sorry sir but you must be mistaken. We are the most related person that you would ever know." He replied.
He wanted to leave and go find his sister but then, before they could even get to do that, the door split open and Mia walked Forward.
Lut face lit up immediately after he saw her. And he wished that he could give her a warm hug but already knew that would not be possible so he decided to cut the case and go straight to his point.
"Sister Mia. Did you hear what this man is saying? He said that you are not my sister. Isn't that absurd?" He blotted out.
But his sister gave him the biggest shock of his life when he finally went ahead to say.
"He is telling the truth and you should listen to him. I am not your sister and I am only a maid. He is your father." She announced, snapping Lut deep into the world of his shocks.

News channels and journalists would be there. His life had changed out of the blue, and Lutenant James didn't know how to feel.“A penny for your thoughts?”Aurora joined him on the balcony. The fact that they had worked for weeks on end but even now she could barely look at him in the face without reddening completely was something that baffled him.He loved it though.“I just can't believe it. I did it. I pulled it off.”“From the first day you walked through the doors of your father's company, I kn

“I wish I could explain now. But I'm running late.”He retrieved his phone from his pocket, stared at the screen for a few seconds, then began to make his way as hurriedly as possible out of the hall.“Richard! Richard! We have a child together. Is this the married life we talked about?”She held onto his shirt, unable to believe that he would actually abandon her without an explanation. He shoved her, shaking his head in frustration.“I'll call you, I promise. I'll call you.”Her body racking with sobs, Ariel turned to the stage as Lutenant announced that the dinner was officially open.Even in the midst of numerous faces and people, she caught his eyes on her this time around. Was Lutenant James, the same man she had rejected for Richard, now the supreme ruler? It was at that moment that Ariel recognized the beautiful woman who had introduced him onto the stage. It was the same woman she had seen at the restaurant with him a few days ago.“Before I say anything,” Lutenant’s voice boomed across the hall. It wasn't the voice of a loser. It was the voice of a confident man.“Before I say anything, I want to personally thank each and everyone of you for honouring the invitations my company sent out. I know that some of you don't want to be here, and for those of you who took out time from your busy schedule to even come down here, I can't thank you less.”For a moment, Ariel felt his eyes rest on her table, and her heart pounded in terror.A thousand questions plagued her mind.Had he invited her person
The unmasking
Ariel arrived at the corporation after an Uber dropped her off, hoping she looked her best.Being pregnant had suddenly made her overly conscious of her appearance. Having a child was a good thing, but Ariel wasn't sure she was ready for the changes her poor body was about to undergo. The parking lot housed a lot of cars, and it made her wonder if she wasn't the only one who had received the strange invite.Grabbing her phone from the purse slung over her shoulder, she tried calling Richard again. When his number went into voicemail again, she swore under her breath.Where was he this time and why wasn't he picking his calls? Was she actually ready to spend the rest of her life with this man?“Welcome to the James corporation, Ma'am. Tonight's dinner is strictly based on invitation. But here he was, about to take over the city. And he wasn't just going to take over, he was going to do it in style.“Thank you, Aurora. You can go now.
