Chapter 1
Chapter one
It was a rainy evening. The streets were crowded with people rushing home, eager to escape the cold drops that beat down from the sky. To most, it was a time to settle in and find warmth, but not for Jeremy. He was behind the wheel, his jaw locked tight, his fists gripping the steering so hard his knuckles turned pale. The leather squeaked beneath his palms, the sound sharp in the silence of the car. His chest rose and fell fast, each breath fueled by anger that was eating at him from the inside.
However, his eyes were fixed on the road, but his thoughts spun in circles. ‘This cannot be true. No, this should not even be possible. Patricia… no, I hope she didn’t do this. There must be a mistake. There has to be a mistake somewhere.’ His voice cracked in the car, as though saying it out loud would change what he feared. Yet the more he repeated it, the tighter his hands pressed against the wheel, the more the truth burned his insides. The rain beat harder against the windshield, blurring the road ahead, but Jeremy didn’t care. Fury was steering him faster than the car itself. His face was pale, yet his eyes carried fire. From the outside, one look at him was enough to know he wasn’t just angry. He was boiling, desperate for answers that made sense of the madness tearing him apart. Soon the familiar road curved into sight. His destination was the grand mansion that belonged to his wife’s family, the Raymonds. The very place where, perhaps, the truth sat waiting for him. He didn’t think twice. The car jerked to a stop, and before the engine could settle, Jeremy was already out, the rain soaking into his shirt and clinging to his skin. He didn’t even bother to pull the umbrella from the backseat. His steps were heavy, splashing against the puddles as he marched toward the gate. Upon seeing Jeremy, the guards hesitated, shocked by the sight of him, half-soaked, his face dark, his eyes blazing — but they didn’t dare block his way. Without a word, he stormed past them and into the mansion. At that moment, as Jeremy stormed into the living room, the air grew heavy. His soaked shoes left wet trails across the polished marble floor, and yet he didn’t notice. His eyes, sharp and burning, scanned the room. That was when they landed on the people sitting there — Mr. Raymond, stern and proud as always, his wife seated beside him with her hands folded neatly on her lap. And there, just a little farther away, was Patricia. But what stopped Jeremy cold — what pierced him like a knife into his chest — was the man seated right next to her. Steven. His wife’s ex-boyfriend. Jeremy’s fists clenched at his sides. The veins in his neck stiffened as his chest rose with deep, angry breaths. For a moment, he couldn’t even speak. His heart thudded so loud in his ears that the whole room seemed to echo with it. Then he took a step forward, his eyes never leaving Patricia. His half-soaked shirt clung to him, water dripping onto the rug, but he didn’t care. His steps carried weight, like each one was dragging his fury closer to her. But before he could open his mouth, a sharp voice cut through the silence from behind him. “Have you gone mad, Jeremy? Is something wrong with you? How dare you barge into this house looking like this? Just look at yourself — dirty clothes, dripping water, staining the floor as if this place is some street corner. Where has this man even come from?” It was Mr. Raymond, his voice filled with disgust and authority, his eyes narrowed at the mess Jeremy had brought into his pristine home. Immediately everyone in the room turned their eyes toward Jeremy, waiting. Perhaps they thought he would bow his head, mutter an apology, or at the very least acknowledge his father-in-law’s harsh words. But Jeremy didn’t even flinch. He didn’t turn. He didn’t give Mr. Raymond the satisfaction of a single glance. Instead, his voice broke the silence, firm and heavy, directed straight at Patricia. “How dare you,” Jeremy said, his words trembling with rage. “How dare you do something so careless… so disastrous. Patricia, how dare you?” Hearing Jeremy’s words, Patricia’s brows furrowed, and she turned her face toward Jeremy with a confused look, her lips parting slightly as if she couldn’t believe what he was saying. Her eyes carried a mixture of shock and irritation, as though she wanted to dismiss his words before he even finished. Jeremy’s chest heaved. His voice came out raw, sharp with anger. “Don’t play dumb with me, woman! Don’t you dare act like you don’t know what you did.” His fists tightened at his sides, and his whole body trembled, not from fear but from fury and heartbreak that boiled together in his veins. He stepped closer, pointing a shaking finger at her. “The only pill… the only thing that’s been keeping our daughter safe, keeping her alive, making sure she doesn’t die before I find the final cure to her situation. That pill was her lifeline! And when she needed it the most — when she was lying on that hospital bed, weak and barely breathing — you couldn’t even give it to her.” His voice cracked at the end, his anger breaking into something more painful, his tone quivering with both rage and grief. Jeremy’s face twisted, his eyes glistening with unshed tears as he forced the words out. “Instead… instead you chose to take that pill, the one thing standing between life and death for our little girl, and you gave it to him. To your ex-boyfriend. To Steven!” His voice rose, echoing through the walls, filled with disbelief that such betrayal could even be spoken aloud. For a moment, the room was silent. Patricia’s shoulders lifted and fell as she exhaled slowly, then shook her head, almost disappointed by Jeremy’s words, her lips curling into a faint frown. She didn’t flinch from his words; instead, she sighed like someone forced to deal with a child who couldn’t understand reason. “So that’s the reason you’re angry and acting up?” she asked, her tone sharp yet strangely calm. “Just because of that? Because of something so little?” She raised her chin slightly, her voice carrying a cold edge as if she was trying to make him feel foolish. “Jeremy, it is not a big deal. It was a normal thing to do, a normal procedure in the hospital.” She crossed her arms, her eyes steady on him. “Yes, our daughter wasn’t fine, I agree with that. But Steven’s condition was far worse. His state was more severe, more life-threatening than hers. So I did what I needed to do. I made the right decision, the decision any reasonable person in my place would have made.” Her tone hardened, her words cutting like steel. “As the one who had to decide, I judged it best to give the remaining pill to Steven. By morning, we were going to get more pills, and our daughter would have been fine. That’s what I did, and it worked perfectly fine.”Expand

The return of the Divine supreme Chapter Eighty
At that moment, upon hearing what the security guard just said and seeing the determined, unwavering look on their faces, Elijah could tell with sinking certainty that these men were absolutely not going to back down any time soon. They were not going to change their minds or show him any special consideration, which put him in an incredibly disadvantageous position that he simply could not bear. The thought of enduring this level of public humiliation right in front of Patricia - right in front of the very woman he was desperately trying to impress and win over to his side - was absolutely unbearable. His entire carefully constructed image of power and influence was crumbling before her eyes, and he needed to do something dramatic to salvage the situation.Elijah straightened his shoulders and addressed the security guards with as much dignity as he could muster under the circumstances. “Fine, we will leave voluntarily,” he said, his voice carrying a warning tone that suggested this

Like, don't you understand how many sacrifices I've made for you over the years? Don't you even remember the history between our families?”His voice grew more threatening as he played what he believed was his strongest card. “Don't you know that it's because of my family's influence - my father's personal recommendation to the ownership - that you even got this manager position in the first place? What the hell has gotten into you that you would treat me this way after everything we've b

At that moment, upon hearing what the front desk lady just said in her calm, professional explanation of the events, the manager literally closed his eyes for a brief moment as he processed the information she had provided. Then he turned to face Elijah directly, his expression showing both regret about disappointing a friend and firmness about upholding his establishment's principles.“Well, I'm genuinely sorry to disappoint you, my friend,” the manager said with a tone that balanced personal friendship with professional responsibility. “But after hearing her explanation, I have to tell you that she didn't do anything wrong in this situation. What you and these ladies were requesting of her is simply and completely agains

The return of the Divine supreme Chapter seventy six
Elijah couldn't believe that his friend would literally be supporting this employee over him in this situation. His friend should have simply taken his word for what happened and fired her immediately without any questions or investigations, but instead he was insisting on hearing both sides of the story like some kind of impartial judge. This unexpected resistance made Elijah realize that because of his friend's hesitation to act decisively, Patricia might start to think that maybe he didn't have as much influence and connection at this establishment as he had claimed. That possibility made him deeply uncomfortable, since his entire arrangement with Patricia was built on the premise that he could solve her problems effortlessly through his powerful connections. But Elijah forced himself to remain outwardly calm despite his internal frustration, knowing that losing his temper further would only make him look less in control of the situation. He would let his friend conduct this little

At that moment, hearing what Elijah just said about demanding immediate termination, the manager of Eat with Pride turned sharply to face the front desk lady with visible anger and disappointment written across his features. His voice carried the authority of someone who was genuinely upset about potentially losing an important client.“What the hell do you think you are doing?” the manager said angrily, his tone suggesting he was already prepared to side with his VIP friend without hearing the full story. “Why are you insulting a valued client like my friend here? This is completely unacceptable behavior from someone in your position!”At that moment, recognizing that she needed to explain the situation before it spiraled completely out of control, the front desk lady bowed her head politely in a gesture of respect toward her manager. She opened her mouth to begin providing her side of the story about what had actually transpired and why she had been forced to maintain the restauran
