Chapter 1
Chapter one
It was a rainy evening. The streets were crowded with people rushing home, eager to escape the cold drops that beat down from the sky. To most, it was a time to settle in and find warmth, but not for Jeremy. He was behind the wheel, his jaw locked tight, his fists gripping the steering so hard his knuckles turned pale. The leather squeaked beneath his palms, the sound sharp in the silence of the car. His chest rose and fell fast, each breath fueled by anger that was eating at him from the inside.
However, his eyes were fixed on the road, but his thoughts spun in circles. ‘This cannot be true. No, this should not even be possible. Patricia… no, I hope she didn’t do this. There must be a mistake. There has to be a mistake somewhere.’ His voice cracked in the car, as though saying it out loud would change what he feared. Yet the more he repeated it, the tighter his hands pressed against the wheel, the more the truth burned his insides. The rain beat harder against the windshield, blurring the road ahead, but Jeremy didn’t care. Fury was steering him faster than the car itself. His face was pale, yet his eyes carried fire. From the outside, one look at him was enough to know he wasn’t just angry. He was boiling, desperate for answers that made sense of the madness tearing him apart. Soon the familiar road curved into sight. His destination was the grand mansion that belonged to his wife’s family, the Raymonds. The very place where, perhaps, the truth sat waiting for him. He didn’t think twice. The car jerked to a stop, and before the engine could settle, Jeremy was already out, the rain soaking into his shirt and clinging to his skin. He didn’t even bother to pull the umbrella from the backseat. His steps were heavy, splashing against the puddles as he marched toward the gate. Upon seeing Jeremy, the guards hesitated, shocked by the sight of him, half-soaked, his face dark, his eyes blazing — but they didn’t dare block his way. Without a word, he stormed past them and into the mansion. At that moment, as Jeremy stormed into the living room, the air grew heavy. His soaked shoes left wet trails across the polished marble floor, and yet he didn’t notice. His eyes, sharp and burning, scanned the room. That was when they landed on the people sitting there — Mr. Raymond, stern and proud as always, his wife seated beside him with her hands folded neatly on her lap. And there, just a little farther away, was Patricia. But what stopped Jeremy cold — what pierced him like a knife into his chest — was the man seated right next to her. Steven. His wife’s ex-boyfriend. Jeremy’s fists clenched at his sides. The veins in his neck stiffened as his chest rose with deep, angry breaths. For a moment, he couldn’t even speak. His heart thudded so loud in his ears that the whole room seemed to echo with it. Then he took a step forward, his eyes never leaving Patricia. His half-soaked shirt clung to him, water dripping onto the rug, but he didn’t care. His steps carried weight, like each one was dragging his fury closer to her. But before he could open his mouth, a sharp voice cut through the silence from behind him. “Have you gone mad, Jeremy? Is something wrong with you? How dare you barge into this house looking like this? Just look at yourself — dirty clothes, dripping water, staining the floor as if this place is some street corner. Where has this man even come from?” It was Mr. Raymond, his voice filled with disgust and authority, his eyes narrowed at the mess Jeremy had brought into his pristine home. Immediately everyone in the room turned their eyes toward Jeremy, waiting. Perhaps they thought he would bow his head, mutter an apology, or at the very least acknowledge his father-in-law’s harsh words. But Jeremy didn’t even flinch. He didn’t turn. He didn’t give Mr. Raymond the satisfaction of a single glance. Instead, his voice broke the silence, firm and heavy, directed straight at Patricia. “How dare you,” Jeremy said, his words trembling with rage. “How dare you do something so careless… so disastrous. Patricia, how dare you?” Hearing Jeremy’s words, Patricia’s brows furrowed, and she turned her face toward Jeremy with a confused look, her lips parting slightly as if she couldn’t believe what he was saying. Her eyes carried a mixture of shock and irritation, as though she wanted to dismiss his words before he even finished. Jeremy’s chest heaved. His voice came out raw, sharp with anger. “Don’t play dumb with me, woman! Don’t you dare act like you don’t know what you did.” His fists tightened at his sides, and his whole body trembled, not from fear but from fury and heartbreak that boiled together in his veins. He stepped closer, pointing a shaking finger at her. “The only pill… the only thing that’s been keeping our daughter safe, keeping her alive, making sure she doesn’t die before I find the final cure to her situation. That pill was her lifeline! And when she needed it the most — when she was lying on that hospital bed, weak and barely breathing — you couldn’t even give it to her.” His voice cracked at the end, his anger breaking into something more painful, his tone quivering with both rage and grief. Jeremy’s face twisted, his eyes glistening with unshed tears as he forced the words out. “Instead… instead you chose to take that pill, the one thing standing between life and death for our little girl, and you gave it to him. To your ex-boyfriend. To Steven!” His voice rose, echoing through the walls, filled with disbelief that such betrayal could even be spoken aloud. For a moment, the room was silent. Patricia’s shoulders lifted and fell as she exhaled slowly, then shook her head, almost disappointed by Jeremy’s words, her lips curling into a faint frown. She didn’t flinch from his words; instead, she sighed like someone forced to deal with a child who couldn’t understand reason. “So that’s the reason you’re angry and acting up?” she asked, her tone sharp yet strangely calm. “Just because of that? Because of something so little?” She raised her chin slightly, her voice carrying a cold edge as if she was trying to make him feel foolish. “Jeremy, it is not a big deal. It was a normal thing to do, a normal procedure in the hospital.” She crossed her arms, her eyes steady on him. “Yes, our daughter wasn’t fine, I agree with that. But Steven’s condition was far worse. His state was more severe, more life-threatening than hers. So I did what I needed to do. I made the right decision, the decision any reasonable person in my place would have made.” Her tone hardened, her words cutting like steel. “As the one who had to decide, I judged it best to give the remaining pill to Steven. By morning, we were going to get more pills, and our daughter would have been fine. That’s what I did, and it worked perfectly fine.”Expand

The return of the Divine supreme Chapter seventy two
At that moment, hearing what Elijah just said to her with such dismissive coldness and outright rejection, Penelope felt like the ground had been pulled out from underneath her feet. She couldn't believe her ears - couldn't believe that she had literally just orchestrated and destroyed a perfectly planned evening that she had worked so incredibly hard to arrange.Penelope's mind raced with devastating clarity about everything she had sacrificed and planned to make this date happen. She knew exactly what kind of effort, what kind of careful preparation, what kind of lies she had constructed to get herself to this point where she could sit across from Elijah at an expensive restaurant and pretend to be the sophisticated, well-connected woman he would want to date. And now Patricia was just stealing everything away from her right in front of her face! Her date, her opportunity, her carefully constructed evening - all of it crumbling because she had made the fatal mistake of involving Pat

The return of the Divine supreme Chapter seventy one
At that moment, upon hearing what Patricia just whispered to her about it being nothing serious, Penelope's jaw tightened even further and her entire body went rigid with barely suppressed fury. She pulled back from Patricia's whispered explanation and spoke out loud, her voice sharp and accusatory enough that both Elijah and the front desk lady could hear every word clearly.“Well, that explanation doesn't sit well with me at all, and I'm definitely not going to accept this arrangement!” Penelope said, her voice rising with indignation and hurt. “Why would you be going on a date with him if you literally just want to go inside the restaurant to talk to that good-for-nothing ex-husband of yours? It makes absolutely no sense!”Her eyes flashed with a mixture of betrayal and confusion as she continued her protest. “Does that mean you've accepted to go on a romantic date with this man just because you want restaurant access? That's all this is worth to you? I know you, Patricia - I kno

The return of the Divine supreme Chapter seventy
Immediately, seeing the slightly worried and wary look that had crossed Patricia's face upon hearing that there would be a condition attached to his help, Elijah quickly raised his hands in a reassuring gesture and smiled in what he hoped was a charming, non-threatening way.“Oh, it's really not something big or unreasonable at all,” Elijah said with a casual wave of his hand, as if he was asking for the most natural thing in the world. “It's just a simple date, that's all I'm asking for. You agree to go on one date with me, and I'll get you inside this restaurant immediately so you can handle whatever business you need to take care of with your ex-husband.”His voice took on a more confident, boastful tone as he outlined exactly how much help he could provide beyond just getting her through the door. “And not only will I get you inside, but I can also help you make everything go much quicker and smoother than you could manage on your own. You see, my brother is very highly respecte

The return of the Divine supreme chapter sixty nine
At that moment, upon hearing what Penelope just said about needing his help to put the front desk attendant in her place, the man's eyes shifted from Penelope to look at the hostess briefly before his gaze landed on Patricia. And the instant his eyes met hers, something changed in his entire demeanor. He found himself completely captivated by Patricia's appearance, unable to look away from her face. She was extraordinarily beautiful - far more beautiful than Penelope, if he was being honest with himself - with the kind of elegant, sophisticated attractiveness that made his heart beat faster and his mind immediately start calculating possibilities. The man's interest in helping with this situation suddenly had nothing to do with Penelope's hurt feelings or her story about being mistreated. No, what made him want to intervene now was the stunning beauty standing right in front of him, a woman who according to Penelope's own words had just recently divorced her husband. This was a perfec

The return of the Divine supreme Chapter sixty eight
At that moment, hearing Patricia's perfectly logical suggestion, Penelope felt her stomach drop with dread. Yes, Patricia was absolutely right in her reasoning - there should be someone Penelope could ask for help, someone with influence at this establishment who could smooth the way for them. But the terrible truth was that Penelope had been lying from the very beginning about almost everything. She hadn't come here as a VIP guest herself. She didn't know any influential people at this restaurant. The story about coming from a wealthy, well-connected family was complete fabrication designed to impress her date. And if it turned out now that she literally couldn't even get back into the restaurant where she was supposed to be dining, the person she had come here to meet would definitely realize she had been lying through her teeth about her social status and connections.Penelope's mind raced frantically, trying to figure out how to respond to Patricia's question without revealing tha

The return of the Divine supreme Chapter sixty seven
At that moment, upon hearing what the front desk lady just said about the five hundred thousand dollar price tag, Patricia felt like someone had thrown a bucket of ice water over her head. Her mouth opened slightly in shock, and for several long seconds she couldn't find any words to respond with.Patricia was completely taken aback because she wasn't expecting anything close to this amount. Yes, the money was huge - an absolutely staggering sum for a single meal - but what literally made her even more confused and unsettled wasn't just the outrageous price itself. It was the impossible question of how Jeremy could possibly afford that amount of money for a simple dinner reservation. Her mind raced frantically, trying to make sense of what she was hearing. "How did Jeremy get access to that kind of money? Where could he have possibly obtained five hundred thousand dollars when he had literally rejected the settlement money that she and her family had offered him after their daughter's
