“How could you treat a guest this way?” The woman asked, glaring as she pointed at the men.

“When I authorized the training for the new recruits, I specifically instructed the trainers to teach you both how to treat people professionally!

You're clearly not ready for this job. I'll have your resignation letters processed immediately!”

At that moment, the men's faces became filled with fear. Immediately, they dropped on their knees.

“We were only doing our jobs, boss. We thought he was a thief and…”

“Do you have any solid proof of that?” She asked, her voice icy.

Only then did the two men exchange glances and nodded hesitantly.

The woman scoffed as she brought out her phone and showed them a video.

It turned out that she had been watching the entire scene unfold from the control room.

Just to have enough proof, she recorded a video of how they manhandled the guest just in case they tried to twist the story.

Only then did she storm out furiously.

“We… I… it's not what you think, boss. Everyone needed safety…. “

The first man stammered, trembling.

He knew how hard it was for him to get the job with a generous offer from the Snow family. If he lost the job, he would be doomed.

“Well, you both are suspended until further notice. Now, leave!” She screamed.

Then, they dashed off without a word.

“Are you okay?” The woman's soft voice filled his ears as Reed looked at the woman in amazement.

For the first time since he left the prison, he was dazed. That was because everyone looked down on him without knowing who he was.

Yet, this woman was different. She was professional, composed and competent.

“I'm fine,” Reed replied.

“I'm sorry about what happened. I'll make sure the personnel are better trained. Clearly, they are not doing their jobs properly”

She extended a hand politely.

“By the way, I am Lieutenant Selena George. Head of the security unit of this party and the entire city.”

“I'm here to see Cornell and his wife”

Reed said instead, not sure of how to react.

Selena's expression instantly shifted slightly as she withdrew her hands with a light smile.

“I'm afraid that won't be easy right now, not even during a private party unless you have a valid ID to help us clear you faster”

At the mention of that, Reed tilted his head, thinking.

He didn't come with any means of ID card because he didn't know he was going to need one.

That moment, the blank card came to his mind. The man had told him that there was nothing he could not control with it.

Only then did he reach his pocket and pulled it out.

“I don't know if this will work,” He said, holding it out to her.

Selena's eyes widened in shock.

A blank card?

Wasn't that the infamous card rumoured to be controlled by a few of the city's wealthiest?

And here it was, in front of her?

Was she seriously dreaming right now?

It could not be the real one, could it?

Reed who noticed her stunned silence spoke again,

“You can check it out”

Only then did Selena have the card taken from him carefully and stare at it again.

It was the card!

How on earth did this man have it? He didn't look wealthy. Could he be a billionaire in disguise? Or a scammer?

No, she could not decide yet! She needed to find out more.

She shook her head and looked at Reed.

“I'm sorry but you need to come upstairs so I can verify the authenticity of the card”

Reed instantly remembered what the old man told him earlier about the card. Now, he suddenly realized why he should have gone to the bank first before anything.

Nevertheless, he was still willing to prove anything and if they didn't believe him, he would get the bodyguard to place a call across Mr Smith Snr.

“Of course,” He said. “Let's do that!”

“I like it, Anna. I'll go for it” Reed insisted as he watched the speaker wait for the next bidder even though he knew that something like that would never happen and also waited for Reed to change his mind. “Oh, I think I understand. Judging from the looks of things- he must be a very poor person that wants to brag to the public that he probably got something from this function?”Someone asked in disgust. Meanwhile, the speaker continued in sarcasm while Anna looked at him with eyes of fury,“If you want gold, I'll get it for you. Just change your mind, please. I can't be seen taking things like this?”“I am the one that wants to go for it, Anna. You have nothing to be worried about. Besides, it's for my work!” Reed insisted as he watched the speaker. “Deal closed. This ruby goes to our winner at the rate of twenty thousand dollars. Congratulations! Next is the raw gold!” The speaker announced. “Fifty million dollars!”A bidder hurriedly screamed out. “That's what is selling no

“Mr Reed!” A soft feminine voice called out in the middle of the unfamiliar faces the moment he entered the bidding room. For some people, he'd seen them on TV while some, he never knew. However, one thing was certain - they all were Billionaires that came around to attend the program that was held at the centre of the city annually. Just as he turned around, he noticed the young woman dressed in an oval strapless gown that barely reached her knees. “Thanks for inviting me over,” Reed said curtly the moment he shook hands with her while she tucked her perfectly trimmed hair behind her head. It turned out that she overheard her uncle telling his lawyers about some sort of shares as a reward for him since he didn't seem to find her worthy anymore and so, she realized she had to do everything possible to prove herself worthy to him even if it meant going out with someone like him. “You're welcome. So… we could go around to see what is in for bidding before the program starts” She of

Almost immediately, Reed realized that it was only a bribe from Anna to make up for everything she had done for him by inviting him out to the popular Seeds auction that was held every year and would take place the next day. The seeds auction was held at the centre of the city by the elites who came together to apply for the bid of highest value. Whosoever went with more valuable items was finally considered the wealthy man of the city. He'd heard about it in the past and knew how much rich men strived to be at the function. However, something struck his mind when he remembered a part of the contents of the letter. “I promise you that you would enjoy it because a lot of art works would be uploaded for every one to see and whoever bids it higher can have it. There are a lot of golden items like gold, silver, sapphire and everything else you can imagine.”“In fact, I know that you went to school and even obtained a part time bachelors degree in arts. You could meet up with a lot of

“Who sent this?” Reed wondered in shock as he collected the package from the courier. For a while, he wondered who would have perfectly known his location. Just as he was about to say something else, the man handed over a pen to him. “Please sign here to show that the package was gotten from you” The man said again. Only then did Reed did as he was told. Almost immediately that the man left, he tore opened the paper to see that it was an invitation letter from someone with a perfect address. However, he could not seem to understand who this was from. Just then, his phone rang. At once, he could sense that it was his brother that called. Looking at his sister, he knew whom he was about to ask. Immediately, he swiped the call. “I've been trying to reach you, bro. I thought about it again and I realized that you shouldn't do what you're about to do. These people are dangerous and they would….”Staring at the package, he walked out of the room. At once, his head became full with an

“Selena, please give me a minute.” Reed said curtly as he helped his cousin into the car just as she was also about to drive off on seeing how critical her condition was. However, unsure of how to react, the young baddie nodded her head, hoping it would not be too late before they got to the hospital. Just as Reed was about to activate his inner energy to heal the young lady, his palms suddenly became filled with blood. At once, he realized that he'd been drained of energy and in order for him to activate it back, he would not be able to heal anyone yet for some time without recharging himself and that included his sister. And as for his sister, he knew when she finally regained consciousness, she may find it difficult to know that he saved her. Gnashing his teeth, his heart ached. He knew he would definitely come back for them for everything that they did “It's not over until it is over!” Reed continued with his hands fisted as he motioned for Selena and the young lady to come

Almost immediately, Reed rushed towards her like a maniac and held her hands barely touching her temperature. He knew that her system had been tampered with but the strange thing was that he could not fathom what exactly it was. With bloodshot eyes, he looked at the man whose heart skipped multiple beats. “What have you done to her?”“Sir, she is always made to take shots so that at exactly this hour, she can dance for men for thousands of dollars.” Her friend hurriedly explained, not wanting to be worried about anything. After all, this man has come to save them. “What?”It wasn't enough that she was sold illegally and they did this to her? What other atrocities had they committed against this young lady that he could not even think of?He wondered as he felt his cousin's body twist. Only then did he realize the effect of ever
