Selena was surprised at the stranger's confidence, her pupils dilated as if she had taken more than what she could handle.
However, she led the way forward while Reed walked right behind her, his hands clenching, hoping everything could be resolved soon so he could meet the couples that thought they could get away with what they did. They soon entered an office filled with a few officers. The moment they sighted their boss, they immediately dropped to their knees. However, their faces shifted to scorn the moment they laid eyes on Reed. Despite their expressions, they knew better than to question Selena's orders as she stretched out a card to them. “I want this verified immediately!” She said firmly while Reed took a seat as he watched everything unfold with calm detachment. Only then did one of them have the card collected from the woman. Upon examining it, his eyes widened in shock. “Ma'am, this seems to be a fake.” “It's a counterfeit version of the original card if it belongs to that man. Judging from the looks of it, it's not what we think it is” Another man said, irritation lining his voice. These days, everyone wants to appear important and in order to feel included, a lot of counterfeit bags, shoes and other wares were made available at the stores and supermarkets. This definitely could not be an exemption. “Exactly… I'll suggest you hand him over to the cops for necessary questioning and…” “ARE YOU QUESTIONING MY ORDERS NOW?” Selena’s voice thundered, her voice echoing across the room. She was already annoyed that a card rumoured to belong to an elite turned up in the hands of a random man. She needed to find out who this ‘ordinary man’ was. Besides, what the hell was wrong with all of her workers who looked down on everyone? If she continued to fire them all, it would not be easy for her to start afresh looking for more workers. These people definitely needed to undergo a great deal of training. Trembling, they lowered their heads and walked towards their computer systems while others placed calls across high level contacts. However, at the other end of the hallway, Sharon sat still in her room, in front of her room with her eyeballs filled with tears as she gently pressed an ice pack to the swollen side of her face. Clad in a bright yellow evening gown, she sniffed and winced hard. She still couldn't believe that this was what she had signed up for three years ago and yet, everyone thought that she had a very perfect marriage but reality was far from it. Yet, it was too late for her to leave. She was worried that the world would make fun of her for leaving that scoin while Cornell seemed to make her more comfortable when there were a lot of women who wanted to be in her shoes. Cornell would definitely not make it seem like he was the one at fault. He would make it seem like she cheated, changing the narrative of the story. Her family were now leaving a comfortable lifestyle that Reed would never have given her if she had stayed with him. Even if she wanted to go back to the past, it wasn't possible. Reed was long dead. Then, the door of her plush room creaked open and almost immediately, she stood up, seated in a corner, frightened. “Cornell, I… didn't do it. Please don't hit me again” She muttered, her hands fisted on the polished wooden table, trembling, her back turned towards the intruder. Yet, it wasn't Cornell. However, the person who entered lowered her head. “Ma'am,” The maid said softly. “It’s time for you to get dressed for the evening's party. Master Cornell has….” That moment, anger boiled in her veins as she yelled and threw a decorative vase across the door, leaving the woman stunned off guard. “You should have knocked. Is that what my husband and I pay you for?” Sharon asked coldly. Frightened, the maid fell flat on her face, not wanting aggression to be passed on her. “I'm sorry, ma'am. I…” “Get out! Everyone get out!” She yelled in frustration as she collapsed on the bed. A minute later, she stood up, composed as she walked towards the mirror, smiling faintly at her reaction. “This is just a phrase.” She whispered. “After all, I should be grateful that Conrell gives me the best in the world. I am the envy of everyone and Reed can't even fit into my status even if he was still alive” Sharon continued with a nod on her face, reinforcing the lie she made herself to believe. Then, she snapped her fingers and the maids walked inside again, this time, with a rack of clothes Cornell had bought for her from the most famous fashion designers across the world. Truly, she was lucky aside from the flaws he was battling with just as she had always described. Sharon was sure that as soon as she bore him a child, he would definitely change for good. Only then did she strip naked with envy while the maids did their jobs, trembling. However, at the office, one of the men walked towards the woman who had a stern, disciplined look with her gaze sharp and observant as she monitored every move, ensuring there would not be a sign of foul play. “Ma'am, the final test is for him to withdraw a sustainable amount of money with the card to confirm he's truly the owner” Then, Selena looked at Reed who had no expression on his face as if he was sure of himself. “Go ahead. It doesn't even have a set password.” He replied. Then, Selena and the official exchanged a look of disbelief. How did he hear that? The officer wondered. He was certain he had spoken in whispers. Was this man some sort of a god? No! It had to be their imagination. Selena thought, brushing the thought aside as she signalled to the man to continue. Then, he walked towards the counter and swiped the card. A second later, a red beep with a slight blasting sound echoed. “Ma'am, the card doesn't belong to him. The owner has declined it!” Wait, what? Selena thought in shock, frozen. She couldn't believe that for a while, this person tricked him. Now, she felt like a fool in the presence of her subordinates. Since when did she start to grow so soft despite the fact that she was born with a soft skin? She could not help but wonder as she clenched her fist. Reed however believed that something was wrong somewhere. He knew he could easily use his powers to make everything work but he wanted them to ensure that they saw it vividly that it worked. Just as he was about to ask them to return, another sound was heard again. Only then did the man processing the card stood up in shock, his mouth agape, “What the hell? Ma'am, look at this!” He exclaimed, flabbergasted.Latest Chapter

Seventeen hours later~“Quick! Move the safe into the booth!” Mario screamed out in an order as he watched his subordinates did as he asked but it still seemed as if it was not enough. Suddenly, it felt as if someone was watching him but no matter how much he turned, he did not seem to see anyone. “My imaginations… that sick, strange man doesn't even know where I work. All he does it bluff!” He said with a sneer as he hurriedly went ahead to help his workers pack the loads since it felt as if they were wasting so much time. Inside his exquisite workplace were expensive furnitures and materials that he didn't want to leave behind and so, he'd ordered that every single piece of items including the slightest pin be moved. As for the building, he'd made sure to have it sold the previous night which wasn't difficult for him since most people wanted his space which was situated at the outskirts of the city. “How about this, sir? We can't take it along” Fabian asked, holding a piece of i

“Wait, what?” Mario asked in shock. He couldn't believe his ears. This wasn't the perfect ending he was expecting. What then should happen to the billion dollars he managed to swoop off the rich folks that adored him? What about his attires he usually maintained with that money? His assets? His numerous girlfriends? The people that he used money to oppress? How would he explain to everyone that he became a poor man just within a twinkle of an eye? All this is just because he is a follower of a strange man people would not even believe? Why on earth did he show himself to such a man? “Yes. That's my final decision” Reed replied him curtly with a cold smile that sent a shiver down his spine. “But…. It's what I've gathered all these while. My sweat and..““Do I need to remind you that you cheated a lot of people to get attain that position you are right now? How about I start with that?”A cold sweat formed at the corner of Mario's right face as his hands trembled. He knew what would

“Your boss?” Fabian asked with a stutter as he looked at Reed. It was that moment he realized how extremely bad he just made the situation become. “Yes, you idiot! And don't you ever refer to him as an ordinary person or else, you will cease to be my assistant!” But how could someone like this man be his boss? Didn't he know how embarrassing this situation seemed?Fabian asked. Then, he watched his boss’s lips curve into a light smile as he focused on the man. Something he hadn't don't to him for years. “Sir… do you know me?” He asked again. “I know who you are. You work directly for the gang Ruckus that go about stealing from people. I thought I told him and his gangs to stop but they didn't. Now, I wonder how exactly I should punish you for scamming people”A cold shiver ran down Mario's spine the moment he heard that. Why would their boss Ruckus rat them out? Had he perphas made a mistake by making himself known to their real boss?He thought as he cleared his throat and looked
Chapter 101
Almost immediately, a thought ocuured to Fabian. If these silly people he called guards could not defeat Reed, he would call his boss who would definitely show up with about fifty million squads. Then, Fabian turned around. His heart skipped multiple beats at once when he realized that people were staring at him. He knew that if he did not hurriedly defeat this man, words would go to many places that he had probably lost his sense of reasoning and could not stand a pauper! At once, he dialled his bosss’ contact with mixed reactions. He knew his boss would tell and tackle him because he was not able to get a man below his status down. At least, that was better than there people who held him in high esteem judge him!“Hello, Sir Mario!” Sir Mario? That sounded very familiar! Reed thought as he took a closer glance on the Ruby as if he had not seen it before. However, he was only trying to check if it was not contaminated during the process of snatching it from him by Fabian. Intentio

“He better be taught a lesson that this isn't a calibre of his people!” Anna replied with contempt. At the other end of the hall was Reed. Within him, he was being calculative. He knew that these people could not stand a chance with him when it came to power. However, something bothered him. Among the men they sent over to fight him was a particularl man he was not sure he could contend with in power because he did not have the inner depth energy to fight him because of how drained he was. In one of the teachings of Xavier, he'd warned him never to fight off people he was not sure because it not only would drain him, it could take so long before he got his powers restored back. Then, Reed smiled coldly at the thought of something. His fingers fisted almost immediately. If he could not fight him with his energy, he definitely could manipulate his mind using the Quarter’s energy. At once, he completely compelled his mind under a special spell using his eyes while the man he thought

“How did I not see the beauty in this?” A cold stern looking man asked as he observed the natural ruby. For a start, he was known as Fabian- the greatest naturalist’s assistant. They went about gathering a lot of natural valuables and craft them into something else- more like fake to sell to rich people. However, they were too naive to understand that whatever he and his boss sold were just not original and hence, they took the original ones to themselves. On seeing the treasure in Reed's hands, he could not help but want it. At first, he'd called the person who auctioned the natural ruby. However, the man claimed to have sold the last piece to the bidder earlier who turned out to be Reed. Hence, he could not let go of it. Fabian was sure that if he brought the ruby to his boss, there would be great reward for him. After all, he and his boss did not seem to be on good terms for a while now because they had internal issues. “Boy, let me have this. I will pay you a million dollars”
