Shi Tong suddenly spoke, surprising everyone.

“I was the one who heard the sound, making me go closer. And then there was a man's voice. That's what made me conclude that it must be an assassin.”

Even Shi Wei was surprised that he was willing to step up and accept responsibility. Wasn't he the one with a dog's conscience who only cares about himself? Why did he suddenly step up?

But Shi Tong's reason was simple. He was at a stage where he needed others to have faith in him and lean toward him, he couldn't afford to act like a coward.

Shi Wei looked at him, his eyes not betraying any emotions. He looked like always, a dead soul with an empty gaze.

“And when you realized you were mistaken, why didn't you apologize and leave immediately? Why let it escalate to this point?”

The question stomped him, he couldn't answer. Telling the truth was impossible.

“It can't be what it looks like now, could it? You went to peep at your sworn sister's body, and even brought along a group to humil

Oliver was currently sitting on the sofa adjacent to the initial bed where he was lying during the period he was unconscious. Murong Wuque had wrapped him in a huge silk blanket which Alvin wss sure came from his storage ring. “Big brother, you really came back. Was your journey hard?” Alvin quickly rushed to Oliver and squatted before him. “Of course not. I'm so glad you're fine.” Alvin turned to Murong Wuque who was sitting on the arm of the sofa, one of his hands was on the back, the other on his thigh as he watched their emotional reunion. “Thank you for waking him up for me.” Murong Wuque sneered and rolled his eyes. “Weren't you doubting me a while ago and even screamed at me to stop?” “Of course not. I have never ever doubted you, not for a single millisecond. It's easy to trust in your abilities. You're Murong Wuque after all.” Alvin gave him a huge smile that made his heart skip a beat. He gasped and averted his eyes, unable to bear watching his smiles any more

  • A CRAZY ADVICE

“Amazing!” The system shouted at that point, attracting Alvin's attention. “This, this is the terrifying power of a divine emperor realm master. He's doing all these difficult techniques without even breaking a sweat. Now, he's using a cloning technique to cut down on time required. Alchemy is so energy consuming and requires maximum concentration, but he's doing it with a clone. Wow! Wow! Indeed, he's Murong Wuque after all. If only you didn't drag him to this backwater planet where even birds won't shit, he would have become the youngest immortal emperor in no distant time.” Alvin didn't hear the rest of her words. The only thing he heard was divine emperor realm. “You're in divine emperor realm.” He whispered, his voice very low and accusatory, his eyes narrowed as he gave Murong Wuque a gaze that screamed traitor. The clone massaging Oliver smirked and turned to him. “What? Are you just figuring it out? You must be dumber than I thought.” Alvin immediately remembered the

He rushed after Murong Wuque and saw him already undressing Oliver. “He's a shy person, he's going to cry when he wakes up and realizes that someone saw him naked.” Murong Wuque looked at Alvin with his characteristic coldness masking his face. “Which is more important? Propriety or his life?” Alvin gave him a tight smile, showing his clenched teeth. “Life of course.” “Do him a favor and close the door to preserve his last shred of dignity. His sister shouldn't watch too.” “Tch! She practically raised him after their parents died. What's there to see that she has not seen and touched in the past? She's a mature woman, you know. And must have handled lots of men's body. What difference would one more make? Especially when that one is her little brother who is more like her son.” Despite his little whining, he still moved to lock the door. “That plenty men you spoke about whom she has handled their bodies, are you one of them?” “Eh?” Alvin froze, as the bolt from the blu

  • making a double edged vow

“Just do everything you can. In the future, as long as you want something, I will do it for you, as long as it's in my capacity to give. Please save him. I will give you anything you desire in exchange, as long as I have it, of course.” Murong Wuque chuckled and gave Alvin a wicked side glance. “Anything? Really?” He chuckled again. “You're either too innocent and naive, or cutely stupid. The world is a dangerous place, such promises would only be equivalent to signing up for trouble.” Alvin took a deep breath and licked his lips, turning to Murong Wuque, his gaze earnest. “I will never make such a promise to another person, but you're different.” Murong Wuque froze for a while, and slowly turned to look at his face after a few seconds. “What?” “I know people are evil and greedy. Making such promises would be equivalent to giving them the ammunition to hurt you. But you're different, you're Murong Wuque. You will never ask me to do something evil or despicable to repay a fa

  • HELP FROM HEAVEN

“You want to help me?” Alvin asked wide eyed. “Is the sun rising from the underworld today?” Murong Wuque looked at him and averted his eyes. “His condition is complicated and death aura has already surrounded him. If you do it in your current condition, at best you will be severely injured or nearly crippled. At worst, both of you will die together. Since I'm here, I might as well do it and avoid an unlucky sight.” The moment he finished speaking he made a sweeping gesture with two fingers and all the pins went back to the silver container which snapped shut. Alvin scoffed, then licked his lips and laughed. “I have to admit, you look cute when you act like this. You're trying to help, do you even know what's wrong with him?” “If I said I can do it, then I can. I never speak rashly. Do you want me to help or not?” “Yes, of course. He should do everything himself.” The system shouted loudly even before Alvin could reply. Alvin gave him a polite smile and stepped backwards.

  • LET ME DO IT

Elena's eyes brightened up with hope and she clasped her hands together in silent plea, without even realizing it. “Really, young master…” She added hesitantly, “don't you need to rest more or anything else. You just woke up yourself.” Alvin scoffed in his heart. ‘If I want to rest, will you let me? Or would you cuss me out in your mind?’ He smiled at her and stood up, his palms on the dining table. “Don't worry, I will manage myself. I'm not any less worried than you are about his condition. I only ate first because I had zero energy. If not, I would have rushed to him first thing. Let's go.” He made his way towards the door with Elena hot on his heels. “Wait, where are you guys going?” Murong Wuque asked, appearing before Alvin. Alvin gave him a side eye and kept mute. Elena smiled awkwardly and immediately rushed to diffuse the situation. “We're going to see my sick brother and start his treatment. He has been unconscious for a while.” The corner of his eyebrow sli
