Alvin looked at himself in the mirror of the VIP bathroom in the private lounge where the manager took him to and was immediately surprised. After taking a bath and changing into the clothes which the manager had brought for him, he looked like a different person. His deep russet colored eyes matched his burgundy colored suit to create a powerful combination that awed even himself.

He strapped the grand Seiko brand watch on his wrist, and completed his exotic look. Indeed, the clothes make the man. The Alvin before him was one he had never seen before, his attire suited him perfectly, making him look like a billionaire CEO. And this was in a situation where he warned the manager to be conservative with money. Now imagine if he bought really expensive items worth millions, like Rolex Daytona. How would he look then? Indeed poverty is a bastard. No wonder everyone treats a broke man like trash.

He sighed and loosened one more button on his shirt, showing a clear view of his sexy Adam's apple, alongside a part of his chest which made him look incredibly sexy.

“Alvin, being wealthy really suits you. You should work even harder from now on.” He whispered, and sighed.

“Of course. Thank goodness you know. A handsome man who is not just wealthy but also powerful and influential. That's what I will call a full package. Whenever you finally reveal your new self, I will be eager to see the look of regret on your ex-wife's face. But you know what? You deserved that divorce. Women are naturally inclined towards having the finer things of life without working hard, that's why most of them prefer leaning on well to do men. But your previous self was unambitious, content with working in a bar shop and doing deliveries. Your previous self was non confrontational, which is not a nice trait for men. When the old man arranged a position for you and the rest of the family refused, why did you listen to Sonya’s nagging and miss the position or a high ranked executive? Alright, you don't have the strength for trouble and you don't want to drag what does not belong to you. Fine. But why didn't you try other companies? With your summa cum laude and masters degree, many companies would be scrambling to hire you. So, why did you give up so soon?”

The system’s voice seemed like it was scolding Alvin, making him immediately take a defensive stance.

“That's because…” He quickly began. But before he could come up with a rebuttal, the system cut him off again.

“What? It was because she blacklisted you. Is that what you want to say? Are you an idiot? It was because you were a coward. And you were afraid of causing problems in the family, letting everyone stomp over you. You disappointed that poor old man who had so much hope in you. You disappointed him way too much. How many groups is the Carter corporation big enough to control? In this city, there's at least seven corporations who don't bother to give face to Carters because they're way too big, bigger than the Carters. People like the KS group, do they need to pay attention to Carters? The young master of KS fired quite a few executives numerous times, and each time, he personally held a fair interview to personally select their replacements. As talented as you are, why didn't you go? What about the rest of the groups? You could have insisted on not handing over your salary, buy a decent suit, iron it and consistently go for interviews. With your intelligence, you would get hired. But no, you obediently fit into the box that a mere mortal shoved you into, living like a mongrel despite the fact that you're destined for greatness.”

“System, stop.” Alvin muttered, not wanting to listen to the system's criticisms anymore.

“The truth is always painful but you need to hear it anyway. You almost ruined your life because of your non-confrontational lifestyle. Probably because you're used to being poor and lowering your head before others. But right now, all that has to change. You are the face of the system, you can't continue lowering your head like a dog. You're a dragon now. Okay, I know you want to hide behind ‘my dream is to be a pop star nonsense’ to make excuses. But I'm in your mind now, I understand you more than you understand yourself. You could have managed the corporate job while earning money to chase your dreams. But you actually accepted the cruel fate that those bastards pushed you into, even though you were destined for greatness. Assuming the system was not aligned to your fate, you would have died. No woman wants an easily defeated man. You had that divorce coming, master.”

At this point, Alvin was practically boiling with anger. The system had stimulated him to boiling point.

“Master? Is that the way to talk to your master?” Alvin asked coldly.

“It's useless being angry. The only thing they did wrong is that they're innately wicked, greedy and selfish, especially your wife. She totally let down the meaning of the word ‘wife’ by not leaving you a way out. Stealing your music to please her lover while cheating, tricking you out of your hard earned money in the name of paying producers, even though she has more than you do. And most importantly, resorting to murder after wronging you, and not showing any sign of repentance, condemned them. This action validates your revenge, not that she wanted a divorce. But it's actually great. You're now the master of the system, women of her class are not qualified to stand beside you. Assuming she was faithful, ditching her would be impossible. Everything works together to bring you to your destiny. Or rather to the point of duty. It won't be an easy road.”

“Just shut up already.” Alvin snapped and left the bathroom, making his way back to the longue where he was meant to wait for Leah to finish shopping.

Murong Wuque grabbed Alvin's arms, twisting it behind him. With a slight movement of Iceman's knee, Alvin found his face flattened against the glass. Iceman adjusted his hold, pinning the arms above Alvin's head. Then he grounded into him, letting Alvin feel the entire hard length against his ass. “Wuque, stop. That's…” “Stop what? I gave you your chance. Lots of chances to make your move or back out. You didn't appreciate it.” He snarled into Alvin's ears. “Am I a joke to you? Are you playing with me? Who do you think you are? What do you think we are?” “Wuque wait…” Alvin groaned. The pain of being pinned like that wasn't half as bad as the humiliating feeling of being beneath another. With one hand, Murong Wuque switched off the tap, and the other grabbed Alvin. Alvin gasped in shock, watching himself get carried bridal style with just one arm. He couldn't believe it. He was eighty kilograms, and his bone mass was way more than that due to his physique training techniq

Alvin pounced on him like a starving wolf, and grabbed his silver hair, tugging it backwards with vicious force. “You asked for this. Bear the consequences of your actions.” His lips found Murong Wuque's neck, sucking, nibbling, like he was owed a ton of debts, like he wanted to devour him whole. His other hand cupped Murong Wuque's face, holding him in place for his assaults. He moved upwards, capturing Murong Wuque's ears in a wet kiss. A gasp escaped Murong Wuque's lips, and he shivered. Alvin smirked against his ears and traced small kisses from his ear, up to his defined jawline, and finally his lips. This kiss was unlike any they've ever shared before. This was hot, consuming. He needed it more than his next breath. Like he would die if he failed to get what he wanted. This was too much for him. He needed him, needed this. He bit down on Murong Wuque's lips, drawing blood, but he didn't stop. Instead he sucked in the blood like a vampire. This was no longer just a

Alvin stared intently at him, and Murong Wuque matched his gaze. That unwavering glare that seemed to search his heart, that subtle tilt of his lips when he was being playful, the arrogantly arched eyebrow, all pointed to the same thing. He was the Murong Wuque Alvin knew after all. Alvin frowned. Why did he change so much? What could be wrong with him? Or did the dark residues from the pill corrupt him? He couldn't wrap his head around it. Murong Wuque leaned closer to him. Alvin’s heart began to pound like a drum. The badump badump sounds filled the bathroom, one could notice his nervousness from miles away. He was used to being the shameless flirt, the tease. But he never experienced being at the receiving end of it. This was a new sphere of experience. Although he was quite thick skinned, being the one played didn't sit well with him. “An Kai, why don't you check closer if it's me?” Murong Wuque smiled subtly, and brought his face a few inches away from Alvin's. “Did the

  • Is this still Iceman?

Alvin settled down the energy running haywire in his body, and slowly exhaled. Once again, he moved the sleeping child into the storage space and went on to check what was happening. He lightly pushed the door, this time, it slid open. His eyes went straight to the bed, where he saw Murong Wuque sitting cross legged, eyes closed, silver hair soft, long and silky, flaring behind him. He thought he saw the silhouette of a giant dragon, but before he could get a closer look, it disappeared into Murong Wuque’s body. A powerful aura permeated the room. If not because of the powerful formations laid around the house, it would have attracted powerful masters who would have wanted to trace it. The aura made someone instinctively want to prostrate and worship, like a mortal beholding a great god. The residual energy was crazily seeping into Alvin's body even without him doing anything. He always had this weird symbiosis with Murong Wuque that enabled him to feed on energy the latter

  • I owe it to you

After an hour of Alvin pacing up and that, lines of worry creasing his face, the lily finally unwrapped, exposing Murong Wuque who was now sitting cross legged, his skin glistening. Alvin wanted to rush to him, but noticed the golden light shield acting as a cocoon. His skin glistened like oil was poured on it, and a holy aura filled the room. On his forehead, the silver mark glowed, and behind him a huge golden palace appeared. Before Alvin could check more details, a mysterious power pushed him outside to the balcony, and the doors snapped shut. Alvin gasped and pointed at the door, then at himself. He was short of words. Was Murong Wuque really guarding against him now? Or was it his guardians? What's there that couldn't be seen? What's the need for so much secrecy? Weren't they the closest? He scoffed. “Alright now, Iceman. So this is it. You actually wanted to push me out. Because of what? Do you think I'll harm you? What a joke! My good intentions are wasted on an ungrat

  • STILL THE STRONGEST

Alvin's face went dark the moment he saw the changes happening to Murong Wuque. “System, what's going on? Did you give me the wrong pill? You didn't want to give the elixir initially, did you swap it without my permission?” The system kept silent, making Alvin panic the more. It can't be right? He couldn't have hurt Murong Wuque inadvertently. No. Alvin rushed to support Murong Wuque but got pushed away. His heart dropped, and Murong Wuque vomited the second spurt of blood and collapsed on the bed. Alvin's mouth opened in a silent scream and he hurried to hug Murong Wuque, hastily wiping the blood with the edge of his sleeves. “Iceman don't scare me like this. Wasn't the elixir supposed to heal you and return you to peak condition? What's going on? Please don't scare me.” Alvin threw the blanket aside, and laid Murong Wuque on the bed, improving air flow. His heart was pounding a mile a minute. He should have known better than to trust the selfish unreliable system. “I'm n
