“Where are you going to?” Shi Yue asked, making Alvin who was about to leave the room stop in his tracks.

“Where else? I told you I came in search of herbs. I need to leave here and move around to find it.” Alvin replied, adjusting the Ming dynasty style belt around his waist.

Shi Yue chuckled darkly.

“Are you truly stupid or are you pretending to be clueless? This is heavenly sword sect. One of the most secure locations in this continent. The moment you step out, one of the patrolling disciples will apprehend you. Although you have changed out of your weird clothes into something more acceptable, you still stick out like a sore thumb. The inner court disciples know each other from years of training together. A strange face or even aura would be picked out by the experts immediately. Even a fly can't get past without help from an insider. Not just any insider but one that knows the sect like the palm of their hands, one that has the authority to get past any area in the sect. But

Murong Wuque kept leaning against a dining chair, watching Meng Ying. The rest were equally silent. The tension was strong enough to cut steel. “Why are you forcing my hand? You better talk on your own. At least then, you will be able to retain a bit of dignity.” Meng Ying chuckled, and stood up. Her legs were shaky due to being broken but she gritted her teeth and held a nearby chair to keep steady. Probably, she thought that increasing her height would give her more confidence to assert herself. Shi Yue rushed to support her, letting her lean against her body. “Senior, you're making things difficult for me. With what eyes did you see me adding poison to your meals?” She turned to Shi Wei, then Shi Qian Ling. “And you both, aren't you ashamed to stand there watching as he bullies me? What kind of sworn brothers are you?” “A'Ying, this is a serious case. We need to approach this with tact. Senior has not gone overboard yet, and we're here trying to rectify it as peacefully a

“First brother…” Qin Li began, making everyone turn to him. Shi Wei inhaled deeply and took a step towards him. “Qin Li, what do you think about this case?” Alvin also turned, eager to hear his opinion. Qin Li was cold and upright, he would never make a decision based on emotions. So he was the best candidate when it comes to being a good judge of character. Meng Ying also looked at him, her eyes had a complicated expression in them, and she looked guarded, almost as if she was being careful not to give anything away. Qin Li felt a heavy weight pressing down on his shoulders. Even the crying girls turned to him, waiting on him to deliver the verdict. “If First brother said she's the one then there's a 98% probability that she's the main culprit he was looking for.” His words made everywhere go silent, and they held their breaths, totally stunned. “You can't just say that because he's your first brother.” Shi Yue cried out, rushing to stand before Shi Meng Ying. Shi We

Murong Wuque chuckled and took a sip of water. “Take a guess. It's probably the one who appears the most harmless in the room.” “The most harmless?” Alvin looked at Oliver, then Leah, Martha and Elena. They all looked spineless and harmless, but none of them should have a reason to hurt him. Murong Wuque walked to Shi Meng Ying who had remained silent all along, watching with careful detachment and calm, as if none of the chaos had anything to do with her. “You're such a snake. How can you have such an innocent face, yet be capable of that level of wickedness? Indeed, looks are the most deceptive and unreliable thing in the world.” Everyone was immediately stunned. Alvin was the most surprised of all. “Wuque, could you be mistaken? She's in a wheelchair, being pushed around due to the severe injuries she incurred during the invasion. It's not possible that the culprit is her. The idea that she might be working with the vampires is purely ridiculous, they almost killed her.

  • Everyone is a suspect.

Alvin rushed to her and helped her to a sofa. “Martha, calm down. Be mindful of your age and health. Don't get unnecessarily scared. I won't let him go overboard with you.” She shook her head, overcome with agony. She kept hitting her chest repeatedly, finding it hard to breathe. Alvin wanted to caution Murong Wuque to tone down his aura, but he knew that the situation called for brutal force. Otherwise, they wouldn't get any result and the culprit would get even bolder if they escaped unscathed this time. He turned to Murong Wuque. “You can check the others, but let Martha off for now.” Qin Li cut in, looking anxious. “That's right, First brother. She's already an old woman, and her health isn't all that great. Don't scare her. You can handle the rest however you want, but her age is already advanced, too much shock might cause unnecessary problems.” Murong Wuque gave him a chilling glare, from head to toe. “Even old people are veteran assassins. I don't expect that lev

  • Totally unexpected.

Alvin’s eyes widened to saucer shapes. “Ah? Wuque, wait a minute…” He quickly grabbed Murong Wuque's arm, making the latter look down at him with a frown, as if genuinely confused on the reason Alvin was stopping him from personally taking action. “I will handle it myself for now. If I'm unable to find the person in ten minutes, you can take over.” Of course, Alvin had no plan of letting Murong Wuque step in. With his high handed methods, there would be major casualties and the culprit won't be able to keep their life afterwards. However, the others who were tortured while searching for the culprit wouldn't have anywhere to cry afterwards. Sure, Murong Wuque would instantly heal them with his healing energy once the process was over. However, the pain in between ain't a joke. He would rather keep him far away from them. Murong Wuque was the type people call heartless, he might look out for people and help them, because it was his responsibility to keep up the light due to h

  • Who is the traitor?

Murong Wuque let go of them and they all dropped to the floor, tumbling on top of each other. Shi Yue's eyes went wide with fear and her mouth dropped open. Oliver who had been silent all along let out an ear piercing shriek and jumped out of his wheel chair. He wobbled to where they fell and collapsed beside his sister. He pushed Leah who fell on top of Elena away and tried to move his sister, crying heavily. Alvin clutched Murong Wuque by the lapels, his eyes spitting fire. “If anything happens to them, I will never forgive you or let you off. We will die together if I have to.” He licked his lips and took in a ragged breath, trying to control himself. His eyes were a bit red and he rushed to the collapsed people. Alvin checked Elena’s body. She merely lost consciousness due to suffocation. She was still alive. He immediately lay her on her back. Qin Li joined him, laying the girls on their backs, trying to revive them. Sam and Joe were still conscious, they merely cra
