Chaos in the Chaos

While Li Tian was walking along the crowded market, he came to a stop as he felt a pressure pointed toward him. "Somebody is spying on me." He stopped and looked back but couldn't find anyone. "I can't afford trouble right now," he muttered.

He immediately took a turn into the denser, more overcrowded part of the market without breaking his stride.

Leaving the market behind, he came to a stop along a bushy pathway. "I don't feel the pressure anymore, but who could those people be?"

Then he continued to head toward the elevated outskirts of the clan's territory and came to a stop after reaching a mountain cliff that was quiet. "I should cultivate here without disturbance."

He sat under a rock and brought out the high-grade elixir he'd bought from the Supreme Pavilion. "With the Chaos Heart, another breakthrough shouldn't take long."

He uncorked the vial and swallowed the elixir in one motion. The empty bottle slipped from his fingers, and he closed his eyes.

Then suddenly his vision tilted. When he opened his eyes again, he stood upon a black stone beneath an endless grey sky in the Chaos Realm. "Am back here again," he said quietly.

Without hesitation, he activated Heaven-Earth Qi Alignment, and the elixir erupted inside him.

Violent spiritual energy exploded through every meridian in his body, and Li Tian crashed to one knee, his entire frame convulsing as though countless needles were ripping through every channel simultaneously. "Why is this still painful after this high-grade elixir?" he groaned in pain.

Golden qi surged wildly and covered his entire body.

"A High-Grade Elixir exceeds what this body can endure." His eyes hardened. "I can't suppress this energy, if I continue like this, I may drop dead."

After several minutes, he remembered how he could drain energy into the Chaos Heart in his past life, and the pain he was going through had made him forget that. "I will drain you into the Chaos Heart's core."

He screamed, "Haaaaaaaaa," as he redirected the energy into the Chaos Core.

A shockwave rippled out of his body, causing the realm to shake, and the energy started receding from him.

Li Tian was panting seriously, drenched in sweat. "Why does everything I do with this body feel painful?" He clenched his fist, thinking that the situation wouldn't have been like this if he hadn't reincarnated." Not using the elixir is far less painful than using it, this is annoying"

As he sat down on the black stone, he raised his hand to head level, and his eyes widened. "I've broken through to the grade five Soul Awakening Realm." He paused as his mind raced. He ignited the flame of the Chaos Core Overload Burst, looking at his fist, and sighed. "This body's limits are still holding me back. The power has increased, but the qi consumption remains excessive."

As he was lost in his thoughts, a strange weight settled against his chest, and he frowned, reaching inside his robes. The battered jade slip was still there. "How did this get here?"

Naturally, the Chaos Realm was a soul realm, and nothing physical should have come into it, but seeing the jade inside the Chaos Realm was another thing of concern. "There is still far too much I don't understand about this Chaos Heart."

He slowly infused his qi into the surface, and the moment it entered, the blank jade dissolved into darkness as crimson-black characters emerged one after another across it.
