Ana stood by the door of her grandfather's hospital room, watching as Mason walked over to her grandfather's bed. She felt a pang of guilt for being slightly mad at him. They had had a fight the week before, and she had been avoiding him since then. But seeing him now, she couldn't help but feel a rush of emotions that threatened to overwhelm her.

She closed her eyes, trying to push away the memories of their argument. She had been so angry with him for renting out her apartment behind her back. They had agreed that she would move in with him after she found a suitable tenant for her place. But the very next day, she had a visitor who had expressed interest in renting her apartment.

Ana couldn't shake the feeling that Mason was behind it. She had called him right after the meeting with the woman, demanding an explanation. At first, he had denied it, but when she pressed him, he had finally admitted that he had asked his personal assistant, Leonard, to find a tenant.
