Immediately his words left his lips, a round of laughter filled the air, causing Arthur's face to burn in shame.

“How are you going to prove it? You don't even have money in that cheap wallet of yours.” Claudia taunted, her pretty red lips lifted slightly.

Amusement swirled in her green eyes as she stared at Arthur.

Today was supposed to be the weekly gathering held at the Parker's family house. It was one of the reasons she had come out with Vinn Parker, the heir and only son of the Parkers' family.

Vinn was a spoiled brat who cared for nothing except himself, but Claudia had learned to put up with it, parading herself like his girlfriend just so she could have a chance to shine.

All day, Vinn had been bugging her about things, but seeing Arthur embarrass himself, she took it as a free show.

“I don't need to have money. A phone call is all I need.” Arthur said, his eyes resting on the two burly men who stood in front of him, ready for action.

Frowns latched onto the faces of everyone present, his words sparking ire.

The forward putting attendant sashayed her way to the front, hands on her hips with a disgusted glare. “At a time like this, you still brag?”

“Insolent! The only reason you are still standing is because Mr Parker is kind-hearted enough to ignore peasants like you.” Another chimed, inciting the crowd.

“Young man, apologize, or better yet, call someone so they can lend you some money.” An old man commented, looking at Arthur with kind eyes.

Among everyone in the crowd, he was the only one still humble enough to help Arthur, which made Arthur slightly happy.

He shook his head slightly, refusing the man's words, causing the old man to sigh. He had tried, but Arthur was just too stubborn.

Looking over at Vinn, their gaze locked briefly before he looked away.

Vinn let out a snort, thinking Arthur had been intimidated by him. “Are you going to pay or not? If you aren't, then you'd better get on your knees and start apologizing.”

Somehow, the words of the people had gotten into Vinn's head, a surge of adrenaline washing over him at the thought of humiliating Arthur like this.

Arthur lowered his head, sending a pitiful form into people's minds.

The attendant, filled with flattery, grew smug at watching Arthur defeated and with no other option.

She hated people like Arthur to a fault. People who brag while they have nothing.

Although she couldn't tell what brand of clothes he wore, she could bet her life that they didn't cost over $300.

So where was he going to see $3000? That was an extra zero, one she felt was too far for even her.

Vinn himself was feeling smug about the situation and waited patiently, urging Claudia to take up her phone to record.

The thought of seeing Arthur kneeling thrilled Claudia, so she couldn't help but add fire to the pit.

“Come on, go on, what are you waiting for?!”

It was unanimously decided what Arthur was going to choose, but just when everyone thought Arthur was surely going to go on his knees, he surprised everyone.

“Want me to kneel? You must be dreaming.” Arthur sneered. “Not even your grandfather has the guts to say that to my face!”

“How dare you?!” Vinn instantly exploded in rage. “Someone, break his legs for me!”

“Yes sir!” The attendant hurriedly answered, scurrying away while yelling out for security.

Quickly, the crowd distanced themselves from Arthur, giving enough space so they could watch the scene that was about to unfold.

Their faces, one of amusement and scorn at Arthur, but the old man in particular was different.

“Are you out of your mind? Apologize right now before you get into trouble.” He kindly rebuked, panic on his wrinkled face as he nervously looked at the fuming Vinn whose red face was near exploding.

Although he didn't know Arthur, he had a son of a similar age to Arthur who worked in the same clothing store Parker had come from, so he couldn't help but be worried for him.

Arthur calmly glanced at the old man and he couldn't deny feeling touched, but he still didn't back down.

Gone was the submissive Arthur. He wanted to get rid of him.

To save his sister and get back the dignity he had lost, he had to start from somewhere, right?

So what if it was considered bullying?

Didn't Vinn just do the same?

Didn't Racheal and her family do the same just because they had more money than others?

If they could do it, then so could he!

He glanced at the two burly men guarding Vinn, a provocative smirk on his face. “Want to break my legs? Check first if you are capable.”

Vinn's face immediately turned purple. “That's it! Break every bone in his body. I want this guy to suffer a miserable death!”

Never in his life had he been this humiliated.

At first, he was letting Arthur go because this property belonged to a noble family in the capital, afraid of causing trouble on their property, but now he didn't care.

How dare a beggar like Arthur drag his family name through the mud?

If he didn't teach Arthur a lesson today, others might just trample over his head.

“Beat him to a pulp! If he does, then so be it!” He ordered his men and immediately, the two burly men beside him sprang out.

They shot towards Arthur like a flash, both throwing a deathly punch that could send Arthur to a coma.

Not knowing how to fight, Arthur braced himself.

Seeing the heavy blow coming his way, he swiftly dodged the first, only for a blow to land on his back.

Arthur let out a pained grunt, stumbling forward from the force, a wave of pain spreading from the hit he had gotten.

“Damn it!” He cursed, glaring at the two men who slowly started circling him.

From the corner of his eyes, he caught the faces of Vinn and Claudia, each gloating with anticipation. Even the crowd cheered on as he was close to being beaten.

This made Arthur clench his fist tightly.

Again he was powerless, he realised, and the feeling was humiliating.

Just as the men raised their hands for another sure strike, the attendant rushed back, with three men donned in security uniforms in tow.

“Mr Parker, I've brought security.” She said, eyes narrowing on the scene immediately.

Vinn cast a perfunctory glance at the three men, letting out a faint sound in dismissal. “Tell them to stand by.”

“Yes sir!”

The attendant replied, turning to the three men behind her. “Stand over there and wait.” She pointed, not caring what they did before looking away.

Among the three men, a young man with a similar build to Arthur's stood with a frown.

He watched as two burly men charged towards a young man standing helplessly with a roar, a frown on his face.

The more he looked at the young man, the more he felt he was familiar.

Just then, he caught a glimpse of the man's face, recognition passing through his features as he paled.

“Arthur?” He mumbled in shock, only to watch the two men get close.

Without hesitation, he dashed towards the circle.

“Stop!”

Still, as he looked at the message, a strange pull tightened his chest. Even though Rachel had humiliated him, he couldn’t deny that he had once cared for her. But that was the past. They were divorced now, and she had clearly moved on. He had no intention of getting tangled in her web again. With a tired sigh, Arthur tossed his phone onto the bed and leaned back. That alone was more than he could bear. --- Meanwhile, at the top floor of Salvador’s Clinic, chaos was brewing. Rachel paced the sterile hallway,

“So, you’re a rich man now?” Brad asked with a teasing grin.Arthur sighed quietly. To avoid frightening his friend, he had given a watered-down version of the truth — a fabricated story about saving an old wealthy man who later willed a company to him.It was a ridiculous lie, but necessary. Keeping Brad and his father away from his real identity was the safest choice.“Yeah,” Arthur replied simply.“That’s so cool!
