At that moment the auctioneer straightened his posture, his voice dropping into a more dramatic tone as he gestured toward the simple, handcrafted necklace.

“Ladies and gentlemen, what you see before you is not just any necklace. Some of you may scoff, thinking it's merely a piece of local craftsmanship. But I assure you…” He leaned slightly forward, scanning the room.

“This necklace holds more value than you can possibly imagine.”

Hearing what he just said, the murmuring died down. Even those who had mocked the kento earlier now looked toward the stage with renewed curiosity.

The auctioneer took a step closer to the display.

“Legend has it that this necklace is a bearer of fortune. It is said to possess the ability to grant wishes—not just any wishes, but those born from acts of kindness. If the wearer is pure-hearted, if they are generous, if they give without expectation… this necklace shall reward them in ways even I dare not claim to understand.”

Damien leaned back slightly in his chair, one hand gripping the phone, the other resting lazily against the armrest. His face gave nothing away, but his mind was already mapping out the next day’s encounter. Good… this means no excuses. The Brain continued, his tone shifting slightly as if bracing Damien for something unexpected. “However… there’s something you should know Master.”Then Damien’s brow arched faintly, though his voice remained calm. “Go on.”“It seems the Royal Family has also found this meeting… interesting,” The Brain said carefully. “When I relayed the message to them as protocol demands, I wasn’t expecting any response from their side. It was more a formality than an invitation.”“And?” Damien asked, his voice sharp now, already sensing this was leading somewhere unusual.“They sent word back,” The Brain said, his words precise and deliberate. “Not only are they attending tomorrow… but there’s more. Something unprecedented.”Damien’s grip on the phone tightened ever

After Damien had finally settled down, the house returning to a quiet stillness after all the commotion, he sat alone in the living room. The faint sound of footsteps from upstairs faded Uncle Bernard, Jessica, and Deborah had gone to the rooms he had offered them. For a long moment, Damien just sat there, leaning back on the couch, his elbows resting on his knees, eyes lowered to his hand.In his palm lay the ring, The same hooded-looking ring he had taken from old master Ramos earlier that day.He turned it slowly between his fingers, the dull gleam catching faint reflections from the warm lights overhead. From the outside, it looked ordinary, simple, even plain. But Damien could feel it; there was something else. A strange pulse, almost like a heartbeat, faint and buried deep within the metal. At that moment his thoughts drifted briefly to Uncle Bernard and his family upstairs. He wasn’t naive he knew why they had come running to him. Their sudden flight from their home, the fear w

At that moment, upon hearing everything Deborah had just said, Damien didn’t say anything immediately. He simply let out a soft, almost tired breath and slowly shook his head once, firmly. The expression on his face wasn’t one of anger, but it also wasn’t soft or forgiving. It was calm…detached. His eyes, however, told a different story filled with quiet disappointment. He looked at Deborah for a long moment, then said with a voice that was even and firm, but clearly not warm, “You see… all those things you said about me in the past… I never cared.”His words made Deborah blink, surprised.“I never took them to heart. Not even for a second,” Damien continued. “Because I knew who I was. I knew the kind of person I was trying to be. So your words… your insults… they didn’t break me.”He paused for a moment, his tone turning colder.“But that doesn’t mean I forgot.”Deborah’s hands trembled slightly, Damien continued, his eyes still locked on her. “You see, people like me… we don’t shout

At that moment, Damien stepped down from the car slowly, his keys still in hand. He shut the door gently behind him, but his eyes didn’t leave the unexpected sight before him, Uncle Bernard, Deborah, and Jessica standing awkwardly near the entrance of his house, each of them surrounded by a few large travel bags and backpacks. His brows furrowed slightly, confusion written all over his face. For a second, he wondered if he was dreaming. The last time he had spoken to any of them was… strained. That conversation didn’t end well. And now, they were here in his compound, with bags. Something wasn’t right.Damien walked toward them steadily, his sharp eyes scanning their faces. They all looked tired, worn out even. Deborah wouldn’t meet his gaze. Jessica looked like she had been crying earlier, and Uncle Bernard’s shoulders were slouched, his usual proud stance gone. The silence was strange. No one said a word as he approached. All he could hear was the gentle wind brushing through the tr

Then, at that moment, Viteria’s father’s younger brother Ed Barlow let out a low breath, the frustration tightening his throat. His voice came through the phone, calm yet laced with restrained anger.“Sadly, I don’t have any of that,” he muttered. “No information, no one to question either. I’m sorry to inform you, brother, but... the people are gone. The house is empty. There’s nobody here.”Again he looked around the mess of clothes and disturbed furniture, his eyes cold, his jaw locked. “They didn’t just leave casually either. It’s clear... they ran.”For a moment, there was a silence on the line, a heavy silence, and then, through the phone, he could hear the sound of movement, and the sharp exhale of breath. Then Victoria’s father’s voice came in, low at first, but burning with rage beneath the surface.“So... my suspicions were actually true,” he hissed. Then, the sound of a chair scraping harshly against the floor broke through the phone, he had stood up. His heavy footsteps ec

At that moment, seeing that Ramos was truly gone, his frail body finally resting in complete stillness, Damien closed his eyes slowly. Then a deep sigh escaped his chest, heavy and long, as if he was trying to exhale the weight of his own disappointment. At that moment he shook his head gently, not in anger, but in quiet regret. He wanted this day, this whole day to be for Ramos. He wanted to sit with him, talk with him, maybe even share a laugh. He wanted to hear the old man’s stories again, even if they were stories he had heard before. He wanted to remind Ramos that his life, his loyalty, everything he had done for the family, had not been for nothing.But... now it was too late, that chance was gone, just like that. All Damien had now was the heavy silence and the presence of a man who had given everything to a family legacy, only to bow out in the most peaceful, quiet way without a final word, without a goodbye. He sat there for a moment, unmoving, as if hoping Ramos would sudde
