Richard struggled to make sense out of what his grandfather had said.He was still yet to overcome the shock of finding the identity of his parents, yet his grandfather had dropped another shocking news.for him.He wondered how many times he would be surprised before he would be able to take a break.

“The Morgan Empire heir?” Richard asked.

“Yes, you are the Morgan Empire heir” Richard grandfather answered.

Richard was shocked once again. As a student in school he knows what a business empire was.He was aware that anyone who claims to have an empire was very wealthy.

A business empire is a collection of businesses with the shared highlighted management especially one ultimately under the control of one individual.

Richard looked at his grandfather differently. This revelation explained why everything here was so luxurious and why his grandfather butler was able to drive a car as expensive as a Rolls-Royce.

Richard was confused as he wasn't familiar with the Morgan Empire. The fact he was poor didn't mean that he was ignorant. He also knew about some top companies like the one headed by George Prescott, the famous Prescott winery company of which Dominic was the heir.

“Grandfather, you said I'm the heir to the Morgan Empire? Richard asked.

“Yes you are,” His grandfather replied.

“But how come I haven't heard of any top companies bearing the Morgan name?

His grandfather however sighed when he heard his grandson's question. However he didn't blame him.It was expected as only the Morgan heir knows how much of wealth is in his control.

His grandfather just went to his desk where he has documents on.He picked one of the documents and handed the documents to Richard before speaking.

“The companies listed there are under the Morgan Empire.I have all these companies under my control and management.”

Richard looked at his grandfather before going through the documents in his hands. What Richard found out made his jaw drop.

He was overwhelmed by what he just found out.

He had thought that nothing would be able to shock him again, but what he saw had completely blown his mind away.

In the documents were not just top companies in Vatican town but top companies in the world with the least company having a yearly revenue of $10B.

There were several widely acclaimed businesses on the list.

The list also includes luxury stores, top rated hotels and several mineral and oil wells that were part of the Morgan Empire.

Richard felt his head spinning when he looked at the yearly revenue of each of the businesses listed in the documents. Some investments like the oil wells even made close to 100 billion dollars yearly.

Richard's grandfather noticed that Richard had finished going through the documents he handed over to him.He cleared his throat loudly, drawing the attention of Richard. When he saw that Richard's attention was focused on him,he spoke up.

“Richard all these companies are no longer on my name”

Richard's eyes widened.

“What do you mean by that Grandfather?”Richard asked curiously.

“Calm down Richard. The companies and businesses were under my name, because your father who was supposed to inherit them passed away too soon. Now I'm just an old man,who wants to relax and look after his health.

“But you are a healthy grandfather, what do you mean by looking after your health?"Richard asked surprisingly.

“ I'm tired Richard.I have been the head of the Morgan Empire for 35 years and it's time for you to take your rightful position. There is no reason to try and change my mind.I have already transferred and registered all these companies under your name.”

“I know it's sudden for you to take up this great responsibility but you have to accept your new role now.Don't worry I've notified every manager of those businesses that you are the new head of the Morgan Empire.Once you tell them who you are then you will be treated with utmost respect.

Richard's grandfather insisted that he had to take up his responsibility as the new heir of the Morgan Empire.

The large, polished windows of Richard's mansion offered a view of the city below. He had spent the better part of the past few weeks reclaiming what was rightfully his, maneuvering through legal battles and business challenges. The weight of those battles had been exhausting, but at least the storm seemed to be passing. His empire was starting to rebuild itself, piece by piece, but Richard knew that he couldn’t rest on his laurels. He had far more to give, far more to achieve. As he sat in the warmth of his home, sipping on a glass of water, his phone vibrated in his pocket. The familiar ping caught his attention, and Richard glanced down to see the notification. It was from an email address he hadn’t expected to hear from. An email from the orphanage—the very place that had shaped his childhood, the place where he had learned the true meaning of survival. His heart skipped a beat as he read the subject line: Urgent: Orphanage in Need of Help.Opening the email, Richard felt a pang o

Richard stood in front of his mansion, the cold wind biting at his face as he stared up at the imposing gates. He had been here many times before, but this time, there was no sense of pride or ownership in his heart. Only anger. Anger at Linda for taking everything from him, and anger at himself for being manipulated. He could still hear the echo of her voice in his mind—the way she had treated him, the lies she had spun, and the way she had used his son, Jacob, as a pawn in her game. The gates, once a symbol of power and wealth, now felt like an impenetrable fortress. The guards at the entrance recognized Richard immediately but gave him no special treatment. Linda’s influence had extended far beyond the walls of the house, and the tight security measures she had put in place made it clear that she was prepared for any attempt to reclaim the empire she had stolen. But Richard wasn’t afraid. If anything, the weight of the truth he now held in his hands made him more determined than ev

Richard’s heart skipped a beat, his stomach twisting with dread. "What do you mean?"Dr. Matthews looked down at the floor for a moment, as if he were gathering his thoughts. “The results of the DNA test… they were fake.”Richard’s jaw dropped. “What?”The doctor wiped a tear from his cheek before looking Richard in the eye. “I never intended for you to find out like this. But it’s the truth. Linda… she approached me months ago. She offered me a hefty sum to manipulate the results. She promised me a generous reward when she gained control of the Morgan Empire—she said she’d make sure I was well taken care of if I helped her claim the empire as her own.”Richard’s chest tightened. He felt as though the air had been sucked from the room. “So you lied to me. You fabricated the results. That boy…” Richard trailed off, struggling to understand what he was hearing. “He’s not my son?”Dr. Matthews’ face twisted with regret. “No. I’m sorry, Richard. He’s not your son. The drive to Dr. Matthews’ home felt like an eternity. The weight of the vial in Richard’s pocket seemed to grow heavier with each passing minute. When they finally arrived at the doctor’s house, Richard followed him inside, where a soft light emanated from the living room. In the corner of the room lay a small, frail boy, barely older than six or seven. His skin was pale, his breath shallow.Dr. Matthews rushed to his son’s side, his face etched with worry. “Jacob,” he whispered, gently shaking the boy awake. “Jacob, I’ve got something for you.”Richard watched from the doorway as Dr. Matthews carefully opened the vial of Xan Ling. With shaking hands, he poured a single drop onto his son’s tongue. The boy stirred, his eyelids fluttering, but there was no immediate reaction. Richard could feel the tension mounting in the room.“Please,” Dr. Matthews whispered, almost pleading. For a moment, nothing happened. But then, slowly, Jacob’s breathing began to steady.
